So true I come to Canada at 16 started working at 17 pay tax ever since I have never collected anything from the government. Now at 54 I have bad lungs and still haven't use the system. I hurt myself once and apply for WSIB and was denied. So I never try using any else ever since. Canada is becoming a third world country little by little. Trudeau does not represent Canadians. He has had a minority government for years. Trudeau was finally forced to resign months ago. He should not be speaking on our behalf. He suspended parliament and refuses to call an election. No decision / agreement can be made re. Tariffs, etc. because technically we have no leadership right now. How is he defending Canadian jobs? The whole point of tarrifs is to make it unprofitable for American companies to use Canada for things like manufacturing, energy and other natural resources.\n\nThe liberal government is who made us weak where we depended on the trade deficit in our favour. Canada has known for decades that we have put too many eggs in one basket - selling our resources primarily to the USA. We've had tariffs before and worked with them. Yet we still keep selling to the USA. This time is different. In conjunction with the tariffs, we have an American administration that is flat out insulting Canada. Saying we wouldn't exist economically if it wasn't for the USA. It's at a time when the USA won't promise not to use military force to annex land (Greenland) from a decades old ally. A time when clearly Putin is calling in his chips for whatever he has over Donald Trump. Canadians have had enough. We are directing our governments, provincial and federal, to finally, finally break from the north-south trade links. We need to establish stronger east-west trade links. The resources we have are wanted by many countries if the USA does not want them. It does mean much work within Canada. We need to get our AB-BC pipeline finished as well as the new sea terminal so we can ship our crude oil and natural gas to Japan and if need be, to China. We finally need to get out pipeline to the Atlantic coast finished so we can supply the UK and EU with our products. We need to double our rail capacity for shipping potash, uranium, rare minerals to Asia or Europe. Just as Trump hopes for a golden age of American companies coming home and building new plants in the USA, this will be a golden decade for Canada to create transportation corridors to get our resources to other buyers. America will have to look elsewhere for his raw materials. And we all know what that is - RUSSIA. They've already offered their rare minerals and crude oil. This is all clearly a well thought out scenario from the people working behind Trump to dismiss America's allies and trading partners - have us turn against the USA - as the excuse to open the door to Russian imports into the USA.

It's more than time for Canada to turn themself to electric Chinese car at around CAD 5K with quality comparable to Tesla and so many more affordable goods and products from diverse countries of Asia including cheaper chips, GPU, CPU, etc... with the green, affordable and available electricity in huge quantity who could place Canada at the first rank in AI development without speaking about it Geo position reducing latency, Crypto mining at the lower cost around the entire world, the world largest rear earth elements and so many more. By stopping to cooperate with a vicious country which has the philosophy of eliminating the concurrency until to collaborate for the exponential growth of each other's. It's clear that the target of the US was to force the Canada to be producing goods and service to the US consummation at a price so low that will have turn Canada in a third world country which the US could invade or exploit as it will, like they did all around the world by bombing and even committing genocide using proxy to stole the resource of so many nations around the world. So obviously they deal with Russia on how to rob the richest from Europeans nation like Ukraine as it is clear that the US is now looking to make the entire world economy fall for their own profit. Canada must lead in the fight against the American imperialisms pushing for a world embargo against the US and become at the same time one of the richest nations in the world if not the richest one. while for the US citizens to invest all their money in BTC to ensure that they will not fall down with their government and economy.

The speech of Mr Trudeau, the way Canadians have shown solidarity for one another, today it all puts my country, The US, to shame. I am ashamed of what my government is doing and I am disgusted with the people doing it. No matter who pays the tariffs and who it hurts, the end result is that billions will be paid into the government coffers of both USA and Canada. Canada has been the preferred access point for criminals and terrorist for the past 4 years. I have a place right on the border and 8 months ago I caught a young East Indian who already had several felony in the states and had been shipped back to India in previous years. How the heck did that man get a student visa to come to Canada. There are 50,000 East Indian Students missing in Canada who simply used the visa to get into Canada and run the border. This is what we’re are dealing with. I live on the border and I’ve never seen this much traffic. Border guards are simply picking their targets and having to ignore others. So I ask u how do u think I feel about my property being used as an illegal highway bcz of your government incompetence. Canada and Mexico are not responsible for the people in the US who chose to use drugs. It's too bad that Trudeau's Government did so little about fentanyl, also about our poorly-controlled border and destructive immigration non-policies for so long. Every investment, including housing development, needs approval from, usually in the form of a payment to, an Indian Band. I don't believe in poaching young talent from other countries. In case anyone is wondering why so many Indians are trying to flee Canada here it is. Under Trudeau and the liberal government Canada was basically giving a free pass to anyone who wants to come to Canada through colleges and universities, if you get into a Canadian school, you can get a study permit (which also allows you to work for 20h a week). Additionally after the schooling you are given a guaranteed work permit for the same duration as the schooling (if you went to school 2 years you get a 2 year permit, 4 years you get a 4 year permit, ect.) A Canada and immigration agencies (for some reason) basically advertised this to India as a guaranteed way to get permanent residence in Canada. Canadians hated the massive flood of people coming into Canada (about a million a year at its peak, which for a smaller country like canada is equivalent to 10 million people coming into the USA every year). This is really unpopular with voters of course (in part because of the housing, food, and low skill work shortages it created), and the next Canadian election is this year. So the conservative government has vowed to massivly decrease the number of immigrants coming into Canada and the Liberal government knowing that this can be used against them in the next election is decreasing the amount of PR cards they are given (like a Canadian green card) as well as the people they are letting in in total. Now as the (mostly Indian) immigrants work permits expire and they will soon be kicked out of the country or no longer legally be allowed to work, they are fleeing to NYC to try to take advantage of the sanctuary city (something that does not exist in Canada).
