We have our own housing shortage that needs to be addressed for existing Canadians who are struggling. I'm glad we are taking a pause and redifining the structure of how and who we receive into Canada. Until we sort out the housing crisis, which is in every major city, there simply aren't enough homes to help those in need and address newcomers who aren't financially self sufficient. If those immigrating to another country, they should provide their new country with their own financial means of support, or be of a profession that is in demand, the sooner they get jobs and pay into the system, the better.

canadian military will take transgender military members. Our military pays for the surgery, gives free counselors. It is of essential importance that we ensure that among those people, we are not one of them.

First let me say that I fully support anyone who is fully physically capable of doing whatever job that they are either enlisted to do or has been assigned to do within the military. \n\nIn a time where special forces doesn't mean bulked up freakishly high endurance or specific physical requirements are necessary.\nSpecial ops nowadays is also about mental acumen and ability to assess the entire picture and it is absolutely well known that certain physical factors are required to be on the front lines but to remove a very capable force that is a force multiplier in a time where it's absolutely needed and cannot be replaced quickly or even adequately is doing a massive disservice to our military and the citizens of this country just for the sake of a small group of individuals with small minds that couldn't step into that vacant position and adequately fill it with the same caliber of talent regardless of how they identify themselves!\nBeing the most lethal fighting military requires many talents and to remove those talents from the soldiers they support is absolutely hurting our military in ways that will take decades to rectify!\nThat soldier on the ground calling in drone strikes to get his or her soldiers out of the danger isn't going to care if they are trans or identify as LGBTQ only that they are able to safeguard their soldiers in whatever way they have been trained to do..\nOur military needs to be the most diverse in order to be the most lethal in the most diverse situations throughout the worlds stages!

Canadians have been left behind by their own country in favour of Indians. I'm doing just fine in Canada, where I've lived my whole life except for 7 years in Japan. Any difficulties people having comes down to the individual, not a systematic national problem. My rent in Vancouver is under $1000, because I haven't moved in 11 years. I have no debt, no car, no expensive lifestyle, no drug habit. I made good choices. Others have not.\n\nCanada is still a land of opportunity if you get a job, get your vaccines, live within your means and don't expect a 1950s style economy, anyone can do fine. A global economy is an efficient one, but often unfair or unkind in specific localities. The US has benefited from globalization and low cost labor elsewhere for decades. But the pendulum swung too far and now many Americans are feeling left behind. Tariffs could bring back jobs but on a 5 to 10 year timeline, not one 4-year presidential term, much less in a year.
