The main reason the Canadian government wants so many immigrants is because they need new victims to pay into their pension ponzi scheme.\n\nIf it was not for mass migration, the Canadian pension system would have collapsed long ago.\n\nInstead, it is expected to go bankrupt around 2035.\n\nEither way, these new arrivals will never benefit from these pensions. Because they will be gone before they retire.\n\nThe cost of living in Canada will continue to skyrocket because the bulk of wealthy retirees have no plans on downsizing or leaving their homes.

This is a good example of what differentiates a Canadian from a person who holds Canadian citizenship. Not that you're wrong about the state of our morally bankrupt secular culture and government, but that's something that I'm going to fight against. I'm not going to run away, because this is my country that my ancestors spilled their blood for, and it's still worth fighting for, at least to me. I and every other Canadian have no other home to flee to. As far as Canada not being Muslim-friendly enough, why should it be. This is a Christian country founded on Christian morality and Christian-based law. I'm not an islamophobe, but I do believe that our cultures and people should remain separate, as they are quite alien to one another in many ways and there's no getting around that. I don't want my country becoming more Islamic just as you don't want your home country becoming more Christian.

Housing is very cheap for those that bought and/or rented and stayed 15+ years ago. Rent controls keep rents cheap (for them) and people in place as they do not want to move and take a higher rent and/or higher mortgage payment. This hides the problem until you find yourself evicted , break up or some event forces you into the housing market and then you get clapped.\n\nThis is an issue around the world in most developed countries. This is because the rich have optimized the system. Basically if you compare the world economy to a game of Monopoly. Being a young person is like joining the game with your $200 of start money and going against the winning player that owns all the properties and basically won but has not yet driven everyone to bankrupt or a rage quit! \n\nRich people are finding the way to underdeveloped countries to take safe haven from the mess they caused, only to start the cycle all over again driving up land prices in placed like Mexico. We have an issue when the Canadian, Australian etc dream is to buy property, get renters and move to central / south America.

I am a foreigner who lives in Canada now. I am not Canadian or East Indian. However, I am 100% SURE that if Canada did not import those useless, disgusting, and rude things, India would have been bankrupt 100% already. Unfortunately, Canada is still importing tons of those things again and again and Canada is about bankruptcy now. The Canadian GDP rate is proving that. I am Canadian with a lot of health problems, I can already tell you that if I were an American I would have been bankrupt several times over, not just for hospital visits but for the cost of all of my meds, some meds I can't live without and have been on since the age of 11 and I am 41.

Prior to the mid-1960s, health care in Canada was private, as in the USA. Couples could easily be bankrupted by the cost of the hospital birth of a child. Dental care was (and remains) very expensive; it isn't totally covered by the socialized medicine. Audio, optical, physiotherapy prescription medicine:all pretty much not covered by socialised medicine. Canada does not have a comprehensive medical system. However, it is possible to get medical attention from a General Practitioner without paying a co-pay. Consider, though, that a large number of Canadians cannot get medical attention at all because they have no family doctor simply because there aren't enough GPs to fulfill the country's needs. Have they all gone to practice private medicine in Florida?

Your healthcare system, your prison system, your pharma system is all for profit. Canada negotiated with pharmaceutical companies for lower prices and because of that Americans are coming to buy their drugs in Canada. We've actually had to restrict the purchases of medication if you don't have a Canadian address. AND poor people in Canada can still see a doctor or go to hospital without going bankrupt.

Our son (22 yo) was in a traffic accident 3 years ago. Heavy multi-trauma that necessitated 18 surgeries, the latest was 2 months ago. He still has complications that forces him into long hospital stays. If we were living in the US, not only the whole family would have been bankrupt, but he most certainly would have died from lack of fund to pay for his care. Being Canadians living in Quebec, we didn't pay a dime, and his medical care wasn't even entirely paid for by the universal national healthcare. Most of it was paid by the Société d'Assurance Automobile du Québec (provincially funded, single payer automotive insurance).\n\nEverything, including renovations to the house to make it suitable for a wheelchair user and so much other things he now needs has been paid for. All in all the cost of all the medical care, prothesis, equipments, surgeons (6 of them, diffrent specialies), multiple MRIs, scans, stress-tests, ect. is most certainly in the 7-figure by now. The single payer automotive insurance granted him a pension for life, calculated on the base of the salary he would have made in his future job, had the accident not cut short his university education.\n\nJust typing this to show a very valid reason why it makes absolutely no sense for a Canadian to move to the US, makes me tear up for families down south going through a similar situation, knowing that unless they are millionaires, they're probably going through hell. Each time we hear about the health care system in the US, we have feelings I can't even describe.\n\nEdited to add: Our son is covered by his father's complementary health insurance he has at his job. We didn't have to claim anything there yet.

In the past 2 years I have had 5 crainiotomies, 1 kidney removed and a hernia. Looking at this in the USA, this would cost me over $3, 000, 000 for my care. I would be bankrupt. You say that the health insurance cost ONLY a couple of hundred dollars a month ($2400 a year) ... here, I pay NOTHING per month. Most insurance plans in the USA hve a few THOUSAND dollar deductible on top of the monthly payment. Yes, I do pay higher taxes than in the USA but the social programs are worth it ... INCLUDING HEALTH CARE. There is also a reason why the Canadian lapel pin is worn by Americans in when they go to Europe. There is also a reason why part of the French landscape is Canadian soil (Vimy Ridge ... France gave the area to Canada as a THANK YOU for what we did during WW1). The Netherlands sends Canada 1000's of tulips to Canada every year thanking Canada for making part of the maternity ward in Ottawa Hospital Dutch soil. Queen Jiliana gave birth to Margriet and the only way to stay in line for the thrrone was to be born on Dutch soil ... Ottawa complied. Canada also liberated the Netherlands in WW2.

I'm Canadian and worked in Dertoit for almost 10 years, I crossed the border daily working for GM. I've also done work in Louisiana, Indiana and all around Michigan. \nAmerica has some of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. It's a beautiful country and has a ton to offer anyone with an ounce of drive. The variety you have in your economy is amazing, we don't have a lot of choice when we buy stuff, you guys have so much more to choose from, take restaurants for example, I've never seen so many chain restaurants in one place, we have a handful of them. \nFrom what I've seen, there's also a lot of poverty, crime and violence, but that's literally everywhere right now, even here in Canada, we don't prosecute violent crime anymore. The gun issue is probably the biggest problem...I always felt extremely vulnerable out in public, especially driving, because I assumed everyone had a gun on them, I seen so many random guns on people, it just blew my mind. I always had to keep in mind when I was driving not to road-rage...That's how you get shot. The health care industry in America is nothing but a business model designed to bankrupt people. Our system isn't great at all...nothing to boast about. If you have to visit the ER at any hospital, you'd better bring food and water, you'll be there at least 8 hours before you're even seen by a doctor. Our health care is free yes, but we're taxed to death here because of it. I do indeed wish we had a 2-teir health care system, I want the option to pay to get seen soonest. America and Canada have free(ish) speech. We're both being ruled by leftist loonies, but that's all changing in our next respective election cycles. Biden and Trudeau will be shown the door and we can hopefully get back to healthy debate and more conversation in society...Instead of automatically dismissing each other, vitriolic badgering one another and hating each other. We had unity for a brief time, we all saw it, after 9/11 happened. We put our petty crap aside and saw each other as brothers and sisters. That didn't last very long and we've been in a constant state of crisis ever since. The media has driven a huge nail right through society, and takes a blow at every single issue we face, making it Left vs Right...\nIt's unfortunate to say, but it's going to take something truly devastating, possibly on a biblical scale, for us to come together again.

US - the problem is when there are obvious problems you have a system that allows big money into politics, which allows for lobbying, which in my opinion is legal bribery. The idea that politicians had ( or have ) NRA ratings for supporting openly guns and not implementing the most logical of common sense gun control. \nHealthcare - in Canada, not having the healthcare tied to your employer actually makes Canadians a more free country. There are a lot of Canadians in the arts ( musicians, painters etc. ) that have the freedom to pursue any employment that wish, and not worry about the health benefits. \nIt kind of surprises me that you were surprised about school shootings. From what we see, that is not happening all in big cities. Sandy Hook was the worst. To think that Congress didn't do a thing after that, is reason enough not to want to move there.\nAnd Donald Trump has soured my wanting to ever even go there on holiday. Unbelievable that after two years, so many Americans believe anything he says, when he claims that he won in 2020 with not even a ounce of evidence to the contrary. There is not even a theory that would explain his claims. The mistrust of Americans with each other stems from people like Trump and Fox news. \nI think as you said - Healthcare alone is enough for almost any Canadian. I don't know anyone that owns a gun, I don't know of anyone who has gone bankrupt for being sick, and I never worry my granddaughter going to school and being shot.

I am seriously looking at it. I'm a Registered Nurse and I see our health care deteriorate. Accessibility and availability is limited. I lived in Vermont when I graduated and was very happy there. Florida is full of Canadians. I now live on the border and even with the exchange rate I am grocery shopping there to be able to meet my bills. I'm liquidating my assets and plan to cross the border. The taxes alone are bankrupting me. There is censorship So I'm not considering, I am doing it..

The States is wonderful in many ways, but the your private health care system is dreadful. People die because their HMOs tell Americans what diagnostic tests they can or cannot afford. I read that one in four US families go bankrupt because of huge medical bills NOT covered by their insurance. Also the gun situation would give most Canadians pause. In Canada, only hunters, trappers, remote forest workers and cops carry guns. Last but not least: the right wing MAGA goons terrorizing people for flying Pride flags freak me out. Canada is a free country. We have bigots and thugs here too — but they don’t run the show the way they do in so many places in the States.

As a Canadian, I won’t even travel in the US let alone move there. Why? One big reason is the daily mass shootings and the ridiculous number of guns in the US. Plus, your health care system. Letting an insurance company decide which treatment I should get? Going bankrupt due to a serious illness? No thanks! Almost 10 years ago now my husband and I each had serious health issues that required hospital stays. We got excellent care and it didn’t cost us a penny more than what we’ve paid in taxes. I was once asked by a American colleague why did I not immigrated to the USA, the answer is: it was not even in the list of possible countries. In fact it is on my top list of places not to move to. \n\nYou have a good insurance through your job? That only means you have one more reason to fear losing it or stay on a particularly bad one if you don’t have anything lined up, if you have a chronic health condition, then you are straight out hostage to your employer. Even if you do have good insurance your bills may one day go beyond the maximum and you still risk bankruptcy. \n\nIf you do go bankrupt, in any civilized country you can’t go to jail for debt, in the USA you can, the country with the highest incarcerated population in the world in absolute numbers and relative too. To add salt to the injury it is a country that did not completely make slave work illegal, it is still legal if you are not a free citizen and your prison system exploit that.\n\nSo it is a country that you can become slave because you got sick.\n\nThen there are the guns… the fact you think you are exempt of school shootings says it all, if you live in a small city it would not affect you? Are you really saying mass shootings never occur in small cities?! Tyler, thanks for your entertaining and fun videos. My grandfather is a dual citizen but has never renewed his passport or anything and when asked to do so, he outright refuses. He says he hated living there. We live in the Vancouver area of Canada right now. My wife is finishing her registered nursing degree and we are considering moving to washington state, within an hour or so of the Canadian border on temporary work visas (TN1) for a few years. The main reason is the cost of living differences, mostly in housing but a lot of things are cheaper down there too. For example though, the costs of rent or to buy a house in the Vancouver area is insane - 1.5 million is generally a starting point. The cost of a detached house south of the border between Bellingham and Blaine starts around $400,000 ($500,000 CDN). If renting, it's crazy cheaper than here. \n\nThe area we are considering going to is very close to the canadian border, I've never heard of major violence problems in the area. Like one of the other comments you read, we're basically considering moving there to take advantage of a lower cost of living and higher salaries for a bit to try to get ahead. Living in the Vancouver area is such an absolute DRAIN on our finances that it is intolerable. If we didn't move to the US, we'd have to find another place in Canada to go to, but we do like the climate on the coast here. I'd actually just keep commuting to Canada daily to work in Canada since it's so close to the border, and writing the bar exam to be able to practice law in any US state except California, Massachusets, or New York is a pain in the backside to even be able to write it, let alone prepare for it. Just easier for me to keep working here unless we decided to try to make a permanent move somewhere further from the border.\n\nIf we decided to change our minds and apply to stay in the US in the future, there are a lot of the other considerations that other people have raised on top of my own ability to continue as a lawyer. Gun violence in the US is crazy, extreme polarized political views and increasing intolerance against diversity of race, culture, religion, (and while it doesnt affect us directly, it bothers us how LGBTQ people are increasingly targeted with backwards policies and by certain segments of the public), the health care system in canada has it's problems but it's also got it's strong points. We'll never go bankrupt because of a health care issue since we can move back to Canada IF it's ever a problem. Thankfully we are all pretty healthy so it shouldn't be much of a problem for a while at least. And we wouldn't even move there at all if her employment as a nurse doesn't offer health care and better pay than she can obtain here. \n\nOur kids will probably attend post-secondary (college/university) in Canada as dual citizens unless they get a scholarship to a top US school. The costs of post-secondary in Canada appears to be much cheaper than in the US and we have some good colleges/universities that consistently rank high globally.

I suggest google’n “ school shootings, small town America”…. article after article, when you do, says why most mass school shootings tend to happen in small towns….where nobody expects that they would have happened & how all the residents in those towns are always surprised that they happened in their town. \nI say this as somebody who once loved the idea of moving to the USA. \nMy mom was a single parent and as a result I spent a ton of time as a very young kid in the late 80s throughout the mid 90s in a small town in Oregon on my aunt and uncles dairy farm with my cousins and I absolutely loved it. Truthfully, I still love small-town America and I love the vast majority of the people I have met from small-town America. There is the friendliness and community that I find very similar to prairie farming towns in Canada. \n And as a kid, I loved the focus on high school sports in the small USA town I spent time in and how it brought the community together. It was very exciting to go to my cousins football games—stuff like that was super fun as a kid.\nAs an adult, with 2 young kids of my own now? \nYes, I would be terrified to send my children to any school in the United States, especially knowing that the vast majority of my school shootings do happen in small towns, which is a type of place in the states I would personally like to go to, if I did move. \n\nAdditionally, I will be completely bankrupt at this point given my own health issues as well as my two kids health issues and I’m just in my late 30s. \nAnd I’m not talking to super crazy health issues, but health issues nonetheless. I have asthma that has gone through patches where I’ve had to be hospitalized & I was diagnosed with stage 3 malignant melanoma when I was in my late 20s and pregnant with my 2nd. My first child was born with a congenital heart disorder that was missed through the pregnancy and until she was two, and that involved many many trips to the hospital & various specialists until they figured out what was going on (one of the symptoms was her randomly stopping breathing and going blue, which was terrifying, and could’ve been for many different reasons & it took many specialists & many hospital visits to figure it all out)\nMy son was born with a multiple protein intolerance and later received an autism diagnosis. There a decent number of hospital visits and specialists for his first couple of years of life too. \n\n I have no idea if I was in the United States how I would’ve paid for any of our health issues (let alone all three of ours) for that 5 or 6 year period where we all needed various types of regular-ish medical care. \n(because we got good medical care, thankfully, none of us have really had to see doctors any more than the average person in the last few years?)\n\nMy kids are now in elementary school, and, as a Canadian, the issue of school shootings happening anywhere….., including in small towns that seem perfectly safe……as well as the cost of healthcare for stuff that is covered by our taxes here in Canada….. are the two biggest reasons that I will think fondly of my time in small-town America, but would never consider moving there

I have visited the US several times when I was growing up. Been to many States. Out of all the states I've been to, my favourite was Tennessee. But would I move there? Heck no. There is way to much violence for me. Plus the health care in Canada won't bankrupt you. I also don't like the fact that the US's economy is based mostly around wars. As soon as their dollar starts to tank, they are involved in another war. I think that is why most other Nations prefer Canadians over Americans.

As a French Canadian im aware of some discrimination about the funding of our community, School dont really get the money for new infrastructure. some of our building becoming more old and not really great to use i still like my place thought and i will never consider to move to the USA. hello, Canadian here. i believe that ( personally ) if Canada had the same freedom for weapons as the USA, things wouldn't go as bad as the USA. or wouldn't change at all. the main problem, which americans at large still refuses to admit it seems, or at least the loudest ones, is that it's a culture problem, not a gun problem. the whole of USA culturally is kinda rotten with way more chances for someone to just crack and go nuts, or commit a shitty act out of desperation, anything. while in Canada, we have people and gorups to help take care of this. we do not bankrupt people by making them seek help at hospital, and so on. the whole socio-economic of the USA is to blame for this. \n\nin my humble, basement dwelling person opinion as someone who thought about this subject for a while.

This is BS ! I have NEVER EVER had to wait a full YEAR to see a doctor. Period . I live in Toronto. I write this in late March 2023. In the USA....you are on YOUR OWN when it comes to things like social issues and healthcare. Your so-called private insurance plans do not ALWAYS cover what YOU THINK they cover regarding healthcare. You could not pay me enough to ever move to the US from Toronto. My parents had MULTIPLE heart-related medical procedures in Ottawa that would have BANKRUPTED them if they were Americans. You are taken care of IMMEDIATELY if your life is in danger when it comes to healthcare. Americans never mention this. This actually happened to my 41-year old daughter. You young lady are ill-informed.Telecom in Canada is expensive due to extent of territory and the low population.(as the population expands,prices go down) 2 major banks just went bankrupt in the USA and people lost their life savings,you will not see this in Canada as the government not only garantees a part of your savings,but closely monitors the banks.As for homelessness it is not a Canadian thing as you say, it is worldwide.(There is not ONE SINGLE COUNTRY in the WORLD that has not that problem to a certain extent.)As for doctors while it is true that there is a shortage,any true emergency or serious illness wil be treated swiftly and you will not go into debt for it.Maybe people should learn to not bother doctors for their hangovers and little stomach aches and thus liberate the space for real illness

Did someone pay you to perpetuate the LIE that Healthcare in Canada comes out of people's taxes? That's certainly the impression that you have created. BE CLEAR. Each Province has its own universal healthcare which is funded - NOT BY TAXES - by a premium paid similar to regular insurance (except there isn't anyone skimming profits off the top). For example - the Ontario Heath Insurance Plan - OHIP. As a pensioner, my OHIP premium in 2014 was $98 per year. In the US I pay 12 x 167 = 2004 - over 20 times the amount AND I have to pay the first $4,000 of cost myself. Yes, you have to WAIT after moving to Canada before you get full coverage. As a Canadian, if I came back to Canada I would have to wait 6 months before my health insurance kicks in. BUT if this were not the case sick people from all over the planet would flock to Canada for free medicine. As for the Doctor shortage that is CREATED by the Canadian Medical Association limiting the positions available in Med schools. Nobody loses their house and goes bankrupt in Canada because a family member gets sick compared to about 700, 000 Americans per year who suffer that fate. AND no children die in Canada because their parents didn't have Healthcare. As for immediacy of service - it depends on how serious the medical problem is. Few, if any, people die in Canada because they were seriously ill and were told to go home and take Advil.

Their comments are 100% accurate for ALL Canadians regardless of whether you're an immigrant or born here. Canadians, especially professionals earn 20-30% less than Americans in the same job (with the exception of teachers and police which earn 20-30% more) and pay more incomes taxes. Prior to the election of Justin's father (Pierre), Canada had a very strong manufacturing sector, strong financial sector, we had a technology leadership position in many sectors, and a dollar that was consistently as stronger or stronger than the US dollar. Now even our resource sectors are struggling. Our economy is dependent on real estate speculation and borrowing. God help us when the 10 million baby boomers retire - bankrupt Canada!!

Big portion of Canadian taxes are used to finance healthcare and education. Canadian hospitals suck, but at least they don't bankrupt you if you got sick. Also college tuition fee is far below the majority of American universities. Luckily many Canadian universities are on par with Americans, though (UBC, U of T, McGill, UdeM, ...)

I'd bet when he's killed or bankrupted enough of us with this virus, there will be some real nice furnished houses and apartments available, so these guys can move out of their derelict infested hotels they wrecked . Of course this will be while Canadians that served with the armed services and others are starving, roasting in the heat of summer, or freeze to death on the streets in the winter.

I feel bad for them but as a Canadian, do I want them to become Canadian (prob will not pay income tax cause they won’t make a lot of money, being near poverty line)(and will require lots of help from the government)? Or someone from a rich country that goes through investment method to gain PR card (injecting 100-200k into local companies in cash for pr card)(they will most likely buy expensive stuff from our local economy).
