I am a Korean international student studying in Canada. These types of news makes me really frustrated.. I heard that due to these reasons, immigration officers has been taking very long time to process study visa permits. I 100% agree with immigration officers that they need to carefully review the applications, because I also think things like this shouldn’t happen in any countries. But, I’m getting frustrated because this is delaying innocent international students’ visa process as well. I’ve finished my undergraduate studies and I decided to pursue master’s under a professor i met in my current university. I was very excited to study the field, and i applied for study extension visa months ago, and still haven’t gotten any updates from IRCC. So I couldn’t get enrolled in Fall semester. I’m still waiting, and i really hope that i can continue studying.. luckily my professor understood this situation and he said he can hold a position for me, but i’m still very anxious about all the situation. I hope all people who come to Canada are honest and don’t do illegal things. I really want them to realize that they are affecting students who just want to study. They are taking away the opportunity for others to learn.

The questioner is just proving her own questions?
What is non-compliance as a student?
Not going to the college?
How many colleges shut down their courses within the said period?
Do you expect students to be firever students?
What if they get work permit while still being student? This is very possible for the IT engineers from India, they are student here but get a job in USA or any other country and they leave.
Where are the statistics of students who got married to Canadian nationals and decided to stop studying because of family expenses?
It will be easy to track down the fees transfer and return of these said 8% non-compliant students. Did they get their money back? If not, then why didn't colleges paid the remaining fees back and report that non-obligatory to the study visa rules?
Or, was the past govt quite about this because Canada needed cheap labor and money in other colleges accounts?

8:30 I don't buy it. They say we "have" to increase population because Canada has an aging population? Why? What wpuld happen if we don't? Increased quality of life? More affordable cost of living? Workers actually being valued and needed instead of competing for not even enough jobs? Oooh, so scary.
Whatever they thought would happen, I don't see how it could have been worse than what we have now. How is getting millions of Tim Hortons and Walmart workers helping the aging population? It doesn't. The explanations don't make sense.
9:25 bs!!! How could they possibly think this? Their position is that since there was a population explosion in the 40's, now every future generation has to explode their population as well, or else there will be too many old people? Come on. It's too ridiculous to take seriously. Now since the rate isn't the same as the 40's they decide let's just import from countries that are massively over populated.... and become more like them. Like... NO!!! This is not what I want from life or for our world.

Economic growth has to keep up with immigration. Even a lot of AOC voters from the Bronx voted Trump in the last election after texas decided to send tens of thousands of migrants to NYC. Everybody was complaining about the spike in crime

It's coming to a small town near you.. I'm just glad they decided to fill up brampton before they fill up surrey (which they surely will very soon)
When i was a kid, i was annoyed that there were so many chinese where i lived (Richmond, iykyk) but they never really did anything to wrong me. As i grew up i realized they just mind their own business and stay out the way, and generally let their children be pretty liberal (other than the studying). Now, I absolutely LOVE the chinese compared to all the damn indians. There isn't a trend of chinese buying business' then only hiring other chinese. (idk how indians get away with only hiring indians). The indian kids are rude AF usually, tons of wannabe gangsters, TONS of indian gang crime. .
And the worst? the ones that live in brampton and surrey treat it like india. THEY treat YOU like a foreigner. I hate em. I just dont understand why immigrants cant just atleast learn the language and customs

People don’t speak out because then you end up like me labeled racist and hateful and banned and cansored off all social media platforms including all googles smaller branches.
Life sucks when they decide to red flag you here
We have China surveillance here and Ai running it
Red flagged means across everything ever aspect of your life
No loans no mortgages no ability to use public commodities
I’d be amazed if this comment even makes it past my Indian Ai police officer slash handler

This is why I desperately wish there was an actual Libertarian party to vote for in elections!
There is a party, but they have not gotten enough signatures to be able to run yet, I don't even know if there is an office or representative in Ontario right now! I wish! Their policies (on paper) seem great, and geared more towards a 'Canada first'/'Canadians First' approach. They touch on a lot of topics and there seem to be a lot of things they want to change!
But a government is still a government, they will be motivated by money regardless of any good intentions they may have. So if and when things change, WE NEED TO HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE! We as the citizens have the power to change things for the better! It's just unfortunate that I see so many people getting pushed down or ignored or hated because they are speaking their mind.
Remember, Canada dosen't have laws like the US, our freedoms aren't as protected nor do we have the same freedoms they do (like owning and protecting your own property, or self defense!) We as people need to start being honest and expressing things instead of being terrified of the backlash (of which there will be in these times). The only way we can make progress is by deciding to get out of our comfort zones and standing for what is right! For the freedoms and protections we deserve! To make a future worth living for us and our children! It will not be easy, but when is change ever easy?
I hope that one day I won't be terrified of the thought of bringing a life into this world and country. I hope I can be stable enough to be able to give my future children a decent life. But right now? I would never want to have children, things are too unstable and I don't want to bring a child into this country and force them to live a terrible life they never asked for!
I desperately want to be able to keep hoping for a better future, a better country, and people who can enjoy their lives instead of constantly worrying and stressing about everything.
I hope some can consider looking into the Libertarian party as well! They may be small right now, but they seem to be wanting to right the wrongs that have occured.

I had a 10 month wait before I could even get an appointment with a specialist for a WCB claim injury. Then my WCB case handler rejected my claim arbitrarily. I finally got my specialist to see me decided that I needed an MRI and I finally have a surgery for a torn medial meniscus. When I finally get the surgery I will have been off of work for a year with no compensation or treatment! A symptom of an overwhelmed population boom!

But yet, PC's were up 32 points at the start of the year and all it took was Trump to become US President for our nation of numb-nuts to decide to vote Liberal again.
So here we are, another four years and none of this will change and if there is a crisis, it will only deepen. If you voted Liberal and you're watching this video, YOU are the reason you're upset.

I'm a born and raised Canadian, as well as my husband. Even before our country was completely taken over, employment was hard to come by because of the fw's. 8 years ago, my husband had enough with trying to find a job, he stopped counting at over 450 resumes that were ignored, so he decided that we should start our own company, a small delivery company that 2 years later, we added a safe ride service to (driving drunk people home in their own vehicle). I was the manager of a little pizza place, which was run by immigrants, but good ones. I was hired because my husband approached them about doing deliveries, and they wanted to meet me. I had no idea I was going for an interview but they begged me to work for them, their reason; although they could speak English, they weren't fluent in it, so they wanted an English speaking employee who could easily understand the customer's. Within days, I was promoted to manager, and I loved my job and all of them. They treated everyone with such kindness and generosity. I found out just how much support they got from our government, when I broke down one day because I couldn't afford my prescription. My boss was so confused because he and his family got free prescriptions, dental, eye care, etc and they thought everyone got that. My boss paid for my prescription and actually apologized to me for how our own government treated us.
He also showed me that they get $2,500 every 2 weeks, funding to start or buy businesses, but if they don't hire other fw's or immigrants, that funding changes to a grant and they have to pay it back.
They are given money for housing, and vehicles.
He was pushed out of that business by his 2 partners, and the partner's promised him I would keep my job. That was a complete lie. They stopped putting me on the schedule, claiming financial problems (bs), but hired not one but two new full time immigrant employees.
I lost it and quit.
Our town isn't that big, and word spread fast, especially when everyone found out that I was still owed over $2,000, which I will never see because no government agency will help me.
Their business is actually struggling now and I love that for them.
As for my husband and I's business, it's going strong but I came unglued when we recieved a letter from the government "suggesting" that we hire immigrants. I wrote back, telling them in no uncertain terms would that ever happen, and it will be a cold day in hell when one of us steps back so one of the government's favored people can take that money from us because we are the only 2 employees and we're not sacrificing a damn thing for someone who already gets everything.

Canadians aren't having kids because we're responsible and know we CANNOT AFFORD to have children, so i guess instead of doing something about the cost of living in this country, the government has just decided to REPLACE us with IMMIGRANTS!! Its fucking disgusting, Liberals, you all should be ashamed of yourselves! 🤬🖕

Don't sweat people , the state we are in right now it's not a bad governing ,everything was design and decided I think in 1996, and look at the news from around the world, it's everywhere ,Europe is completely flooded by immigrants which will never integrate with their culture . Governments don't even want to fix this problem ,those corrupted officials are in fevered of multicultural world without religion and national identity .Without fight and blood on the streets nothing will be changed , I root for Alberta to separate, maybe other provinces will open their eyes then.

Canadians are too passive and we've let the 3rd world come in and walk all over us. If we don't decide soon to say enough is enough and take this country back from the corrupt assholes in Ottawa, then kiss this country goodbye.

If you are an immigrant and you consciously decide to break the law, then you should be deported. If your family has issues with that decision, then you can go with them. If I were to break the law in another country, they wouldn’t hesitate to ship me back to where I came from. Just to be clear, I’m not conservative. In my eyes there is more to loose going that route. I feel I’m far more productive to put pressure on my representatives than to vote conservative and become the 51st state. Besides, their whining irritates me.

No blind eyes in Canada.
Our millions of generations of taxpayers and family members that fought and died in multiple wars.
Our politicians decided to ignore.
The workforce theory is.b.s
Otherwise covid wouldn't have destroyed it.
At the same time immigration quadrupled.

It sickens me to see how much our dysfunctional government gives the new immigrants more money to live on then what they give CANADIAN SENIORS. We seniors have worked in Canada our whole lives. Seniors are having to decide which bill to pay or miss the bill and buy food. I went to work at the age of 12. I had two paper routes to do before going to school which was a total of 7.00 a week. I also worked in a greenhouse after school and weekends for 50 cents an hour. Now being disabled I am not able to work even a part time job or even find a part time job. I have been looking for a part time job. I have sent out 250 resumes just last month and did not even get a rejection reply. My specialists asked me if I realized the harm I am doing to myself. What other choice do I have? The Liberal government have broken Canada.

I have trouble watching these videos. I am a born Quebecer and a few weeks ago these islams decided to do one of those big prayer meeting right in front of the church Celine Dion was married at. As a beloved-canada, i give 2 advice. The first, canada needs not only limit immigration but also set/establish quota for each regions/countries where have a huge number immigants apply to canada (for example: india 30.000 immigrant/year, china 20.000 immigrants/year,....). The second, canada must empower for each territories/provinces to decide how much foreign people can study/work/live in there

Because they are not trying to fit in to our society and they are causing problems for the neighbors. They receive more than born Canadians and are given jobs here over Canadians. In my apartment building they don't like to be told to stop causing noise disturbances, in fact it even gets worse when they have been asked to stop. Some of the tenants " Newcomers " seem to think they can operate a business in the apartment which means they use excessive noise to build whatever they are building. Once they have been asked to stop by other tenants and given notices they then decide to retaliate by causing further noise which is deliberately to disturb the rest of us. They try to intimidate people that they know are born Canadians like some kind of gang members. We no longer feel safe in our own homes and neighborhoods. We are tired of them using the race card for every problem they have which is usually something they caused in the first place. In this particular building on Queen st. N. in Hamilton they cause trouble in multiple different apartments which they attend. Once they have been asked to stop causing noise in one apartment they just go to one of the others and then proceed to do the same thing there. Some of the newcomers have been given more than one apartment in the same building and therefore run back and forth between those apartments and slam the door of each one over and over all day long. The management has been informed hundreds of times for a number of years and yet they have not yet dealt with the issues. There is an ongoing record of so many incidents in this building which the management has not addressed beyond a blanket notice to all tenants regarding noise complaints. The manager says things like " It's a process " and yet there seems to be no results. Is management afraid to just simply evict the trouble makers ??

The divorce laws are one of the biggest reasons canadians are not having kids. Canadians are terrified to have children because if the women decides shes not happy, the men will get taken to the cleaners. So these laws need to change

Hi, as I mentioned before I prepare myself for citizenship test and I don't have my country password, when I was coming to Canada my country situation was very bad, so Canadian people who were in my country decided to bring me without passport, that's why I don't have my country passport with me. Would it be possible to do the test without preparing some documents like passport?

CANADA does NOT HAVE a 'Housing Crisis". The housing crisis is in Vancouver & Toronto, because we let ALL the immigrants move there. But there are a thousand small towns across the country that need immigrants to stop from becoming ghost towns. The failure was in the Liberal Party deciding that getting the immigrant vote was how to win elections, so they let immigrants decide where to go, which didn't help the country. I should know.. I owned a 28-suite apt. block in Winnipeg (not even a small town!) and my property value dropped below the mortgage cost because more people were leaving Manitoba than entering at that time. I lost my block. Thanks, Liberal Party of Canada.

Hold on there, boy, questionable, immigration policies. Both Canada and the United States were built on immigration, unless you are part of the first nations these types of inflammatory statements, are historically illogical. Countries like the United States of America, Canada, and Australia, New Zealand, and many parts of South America all grew with immigration. People in these countries that have been around a generation or more who decide to pull up the ladder have short memories from where they came. Regarding housing, it is always been and issue in many places and is affected by foreign investors and interest rates. Usually at some point there is a correction, some people win some people lose.

So here's the thing smart guy if you're terrifying us and we decided to tear up you back at the same rate, you're doing us wise that us being the bad guy? It's a pretty simple question. Why do we have tariffs at all on each other? If we're all just trying to get along and why are we giving you billions of dollars? When you're not a part of our country, why do we protect you militarily?\n And your citizens. We don't get paid for any of that and that's a lot of money.\nNot including everything you're using the b**** and wine about what we do.America Or invented The reason why you have free medical is because well we pay for it basically That in your citizens And something like sixty to eighty percent of all medical breakthroughs happened in The united states , which means we also Substitute Everything medical that you guys have pretty much so therefore we paid for that

At this present time and in this current governmental climate, I do believe that changing a leader now would hurt Canada. Trudeau has first hand experience and has dealt with Trump and his tantrums, this isn’t Trudeau’s first rodeo. I am concerned with Trump antics another leader could be influenced with charm and falsehoods which Trudeau has already confidently stood up against.\nAnd for a moment, let’s think a little bit further out of the box. This isn’t about fentanyl as Prime minster Trudeau pointed out. This is about making life for Canadians extremely difficult and chaotic. It’s to bring division between the United States and Canada, and with Trump joking and jokes are not jokes sometimes they become reality Canada being a 51st state. Trump Being friends with Putin, with Russian ships in our Arctic Ocean think on this for a minute. Putin decided to invade Ukraine to expand his make believe empire. President Trump and Vladimir Putin working together. Hasn’t Trump said he wants Canada to be part of the USA and wants our Prime Minister to be a governor how insulting. How very insulting to the Canadian people who not just live in Canada, but are also united Canadians.

This is not anti-American, it is just fighting back from an unnecessary trade war. It does however break my heart because many Canadians have family on the U.S. side. I know it would also break my father’s heart as he grew up in New England and had a lifetime affection for the U.S. I despise politics and have not been a proud Canadian for a few years but I have to admit that this speech is getting me going again. Canada needs to get its act together and rebuild its military, not to fend off the U.S. but to hold its own should other countries decide we are ripe for the picking. I want U.S.-Canada relations to be tight again. We’re neighbor. We will have our disagreements and that’s fine but these trade wars will hurt everyone and, if it lasts, may leave lasting grievances.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
If any American is shocked by this and believe that this deterioration of relations happened over night… allow me to remind you that not just Canada, but the entire world has prepared for this starting in Tr**p’s first term when he first started breaking ties with allies and sat in bed with your enemies. That is why the world is backing Canada so quickly and aggressively - we saw this coming and we decided back then that we needed to prepare for a world without the USA… and here we are! For any Americans who believe your ‘leader’ that this is the age when the world will respect the USA again, it is precisely the opposite… and if you don’t want to believe that, well, wishing you all the best. The world has never ever had as little respect for the USA as today… and Putin is just laughing his ass off because he has your ‘leader’ wrapped around his finger.

Thanks for making it clear what you did right but not making it clear on what the US administration wanted from you that you said no to that caused the tariff implementation. It's possible you miss 50% of your illegal border crossings into the u.s. since so much of your border isn't secured. The 1900% increase in illegal crossing in the past few years doesn't look very good. It's dumb to assume you did everything right and then the u.s. just randomly decided they'd continue with the tariffs for fun. Be more honest and say where you put your foot down so the American public can better understand what is going on.
