I am a German American who lived in Germany and was blown away by the casual racism. I'm not at all surprised immigrants feel unwelcome.

Racism. I'm a German Roma, I was treated worse than an animal by the Bio-Germans. Now I'm living in East-EU, never been happier!

Indian men harass women here in the US. Every neighborhood they live in stinks of curry. Every apartment building stinks of curry in the hallways. Just in case you accuse me of racism... I'm not white! I'm an ethnic immigrant myself.

I'm sure when the British Empire swarmed into India there was no illwill nor racism against them. Indians are as welcome to our lands as we wealthy whites are to their lands. What's ours is their and what's theirs is OURS.

The only thing I would say cause you seem to be very young. Is that brampton actually in the 70's and to early 2000's used to be mostly a white and black community and then other cultures. I am born in Toronto I have a cousin born in Toronto who currently lives in brampton she owns a house in brampton for about 25 years. And is going through a lot mentally with the slamming. We got of people from India mostly in the last 2 years, but it's been going on slowly over 10 years and she's not doing well with the overwhelment of Indians and we're of black Jamaican heritage. So just so you know, brampton used to actually be white and then black was actually the second largest population and everybody else was after that. And then in the last 10 years they started coming but it wasn't in hundreds of thousands and then in the last 2 years it blew up insanely. As that man described is like an invasion. I now live on the West Coast of Canada and the same thing has happened here. And it's been a lot for me Canadian born. I've always grew up with every culture. I've lived and worked around the Indians that used to come here were literally not even on the radar. I mean you see them, but you just they just blended in because most of them had assimilated and were doing their lives. The breed that has come over specifically in the last 2 years is what is making it even worse cause if they acted like the ones who came before 10 -20 -30 years ago. They probably wouldn't stand out, but then again when you bring in almost a million, into all of Canada, they would stand out, but maybe people wouldn't be so agitated, if they had tried to assimilate and be respectful to the other cultures here and that is the number one complaint I hear anytime, I see interviews. Is people saying they don't assimilate? They're very rude to anybody who is not them. They are just interacting with the environment. The way they do at home, Canadians are more quiet and try to be respectful of other cultures. We like to just have their own space and our own peace when they're moving throughout this space and a lot of people describe the energy of the Indians coming in almost evasive into your space and then not really carrying anything about invading ur space. They act like, so what's the big deal if I'm in your space and that has been the number one issue is just the rudeness. Not assimilating and imposing their culture, speaking their language, not attempting to integrate with other cultures showing actually a lot of racism to some of the other cultures. And that has been the biggest problem. So just so you know, cause I can tell you're young. I'm North 40 years old and I can tell you. The demographic change has been so intense everywhere in Canada especially in the last 2 years. That I have even seen podcast with Indian people who have been here 10 -20-30 years, saying the government needs to figure out a way and get a good swath of these people gone because they are. Staining them with a negative brush. Cause I can tell you. It's only in the last 5 years. That I notice Indians. I've grown up around every culture. And I just don't notice individual cultures in that way. Until in 2022, Trudeau took the guard railsl off the foreign worker program and the student Visa working program. And just said Hey, anybody want to come bum rush the door now? And India is known for having middlemen in India that work with Fake Diploma Mills scholls with brampton having over 80 of them that the middlemen work scamming Indians by telling them if they pay anywhere from $5000 all the way up to $50,000 even higher to get fake school acceptance letters, so they can come here to get the word permit and work full-time or with companies that provide fake LMIA job offers on the black market, which is illegal under the I.R.C.C, but that is a thing that they had prior to 2022. And when Trudeau took the guards rails off when it comes the requirements and basically. Made it a free-for-all and as India already had the scamming infrastructure in place that kept their population moderate and it just allowed th scammers to go nuts, so that's why we got mostly Indians. Other cultures do it too, but it's so tiny. It's not noticeable. The Indians already had the infrastructure in place that when they took off the guard rails, it was easy for them to switch and start selling these opportunities to go to these fake schools was over 80 of them in brampton t such a lightening speed. Hence why we got slammed so hard-and-fast with that specific community.That just really we're coming here to work and send money home and that is also why a lot of our banks are now struggling with cash reserved because they're sending money home. So just thought I'd give you that angle. I understand you're doing it from your culture's perspective mostly but you're missing a whole bunch of information. So I thought I'd fill you in actually, brampton used to be a white and black city for a long time, and recent flooded in the last 2 and why it happened from that community so quickly in 2022

This cowboy hat ? man should know that international students spennd 18000 Canadian dollars just on diploma to study in those diploma mills colleges. Man a lot of money just for study a year course where you will study nothing some of their parents spend whole life savings sell out their land properties thats straight 30 Indian lakhs one can buy a nice SUV a house here with that much of money. That's reason why they are protesting they can't go back back why government gave study visas on first place to them played scam with if I talk hatred and racism I don't think Canadians are hatred and racist every individual is vary different to different. I accept your message as a positive effort, but take exception that you are ambassadors for India. That is my main concern: many immigrants are not just keeping their old culture but forcing it on native Canadians of all descent. \nFor refugees, it absolutely boggles my mind why you might want to recreate the very situations that you are fleeing from. \nFor Indians specifically, I’ve noticed a tendency to hire only other Indians, excluding Canada from Canadians and I don’t appreciate it. After all, Canada welcomed you. \n\nI think many Canadians had no issue with any culture of nationality. Growing up here, I never saw any hatred or racism, despite what that idiot Trudeau says. In the last 10+ years that’s changed, and the resentment is growing exponentially now. When I go to Quebec, try to speak the language, but I’m pretty bad at it. French-Canadians appreciate the effort even though I’m butchering their language. it’s a show of respect.

Most of Germans are really good people and friendly nothing against them but Germany itself is not immigrant friendly racism is pretty much on the rise ,low wages , little or no opportunities, my wife handles international clients and she says German client s are the worst in behavior they sound rude and entitled. If I'm a skilled person and want to move to Germany first and foremost you need to learn most difficult language in world and master it nothings wrong there but why would I when I could just go with English and move to other English speaking countries which offers more opportunities or atleast learn french that would be even more beneficial. Germany was known for it's low cost education system and other benefits it provide for students but sadly enough jobs are not there. If you want to attract international talent first atleast create an atmosphere for them but really sorry to say these but Germany feels hostile towards immigrants. Big MNCs are seeing all these and saying why are we here if we cannot hire international talent and slowly they are walking out of there and moving on to other countries ? and now you got serious issue here and people have only themselves to blame ?. Go taken out anti immigrant marches and go with conservative approach nothing new for Germany in the end German economy always ends up in toilet.

It’s not about religion or culture. I’m an atheist, highly educated and I still experience racism in Europe. It’s not the religion it’s the face, if they don’t like you, it’s done ☑️

The level of institutionalized racism here is mind-blowing. I came here for my masters. For context, I am an African female so I experience racism mixed with sexism often(a very draining combination) Anyway, after less than 2 months in a German university, i realised I wasn't at all welcome. I never got the grades I deserved and after several shocking exam results were released, i decided to challenge their decision and call for my exam scripts. Voila! Turned out I was right! I was being evaluated much harsher than my classmates. I'm still so grateful to my Indian friends who gave their consent for the inquiry board to compare the grading scheme used on the rest of the class to mine! Ever since that incident, I see the hate in their eyes, especially from my German classmates who are angry at me for demanding my rights. I've lost interest in this country ever since and can't wait to graduate and go somewhere else.\nDON'T COME HERE as a skilled immigrant or student! My school fees and every expense incurred to get this education is a huge waste! The quality of education is also shocking and shameful!

In my work place it is 90% Indian. I'm one of the few white people born and raised in Canada. \nNo English is spoken during lunch break or very little is spoken. \nThis creates alienation among the employees and the few that are non-Indian no longer use the lunchroom and prefer to sit elsewhere or in their cars.\nThis happens in the community as well and Canadians are feeling excluded from society.\nIn regards to racism. Canadian doesn't mean white and Christian. If you still think so then that's racism you like it or not. I’m an expat from Southeast Asia and have been living in Germany and the Netherlands for over 14 years. While I’ve occasionally encountered racism, overall, I’m happy living in Germany. I’ve been fortunate that all of my jobs so far have only required English, but speaking German is crucial for building friendships and having a social life. Like any other countries, Germany has pros and cons. That said, I also agree with the perspective that, to integrate, learning the language is essential. After all, if someone isn’t willing to speak the language, why would they choose to live in that country?

They often say they're open minded and welcoming, but it's a surface level thing. Surprise surprise I even felt as an outcast/outsider w my husband's family (if it's about language barrier, they have way better English than my family, but my family managed to make my husband felt welcome and involved), received racism from my own in laws and my husband since I'm from 3rd world country.

I'm puzzled by the constant negativity and sense of entitlement I've encountered. As an immigrant from the EU, I've lived in Germany for six years and have only experienced racism once, at a club entrance. Ironically, I faced more racism in my own country during elementary school. In contrast, I've never encountered any discrimination in my job, studies, or social interactions here. Germans from various backgrounds, including dorms, sports teams, and university, have welcomed me to their gatherings. I'm a person of color and speak imperfect German, yet I've been treated with kindness and respect.\n\nGermany has offered me free education and incredible opportunities in industry and research. While I'm not wealthy, my quality of life is significantly better than it was in my home country, with plenty of room for improvement. I'm grateful for these opportunities and willing to contribute to the community. My advice is simple: be thankful for what you have, try your best, and if you're not a good fit, consider moving elsewhere and express your gratitude. It's that straightforward.

It seems like Germany still has a lingering anti-immigrant sentiment from the 1930s, even though as a country they certainly need skilled workers. Germany is not the only country though, I've experienced racism in Poland for example, and I'm sure other East European countries are similar.

I'm Asian, so I'm against racism, but I can understand the feelings of racist people.

I live in Quebec and love winter, but I do sometimes dream of living somewhere like Hawaii or California where I could eat ripe avocados and grow so much food all year round. I could build a tiny home (less regulations - so much red tape here - and cheaper bc less need of insulation and heating) and go swimming every day. This is pretty idealistic though, and could probably do these things in non-american countries. Would I consider moving to the United States? Sure I would consider it. Would I though? Probably not. Why? Similar reasons to many folks in this country:\n- lack of women's rights (still growth to do here too)\n- lgbtqia+ discrimination (here as well, but definitely to a lesser extent)\n- racism (we have this here too though... just maybe less nazis?)\n- guns (this terrifies me... anyone I know who has a gun here has it only for hunting and it's locked up in a gun case, which I think is required, when not in use)\n- healthcare (though I'm not in love with our system... I'm currently on a huge waiting list for an mri, the waiting lists to get a doctor are obscene, and can't access dental or mental health support... some of our hospitals are in such poor shape...)\n- politics and MAGA (terrifying that so many people think like that... though our political parties are pretty fucked up too... just not to the same extent)\n- school systems that teach kids the world is as old as the Bible says\n- police and prison industrial complex (seems less personal and terrifying from the outside)

Canada is doomed. In Toronto as a white person I'm the minority. And white people catch the most racism but if we call it out, we are magically the horrible oppressors. make Canada great again.

I been in Canada since age 11 and now 48. It is great to be part of both sides as I m an Indian born but got best of both countries and values. I work for a very large company and I feel I treated fairly and with utmost respect. Fact is Canada was hard for me when I started school from grade 6 to grade 10. I then changed schools and I was not bullied and face racist people. I went to diverse school. So diversity is good. Now my kids grew up here and feels at home but now there so many Indians here and clearly people here are annoyed and racism is become quiet high. I was verbally abused by strangers with racist slurs in the last few months. When I go shopping I been getting picked on by strangers at least 5 to 6 years the last 5 years or so. But now people don’t care and they act more and more racist. Indians sending there kids here should be aware of this. Also kids from India come here and try to do parties and drugs also. This becoming common. There is also many idiots from Punjab also. Many have criminal and drug and alcohol problems and they bring it here. It’s getting quiet messy. The government issues visa without checking peoples background. It’s madness. Stay safe. Canada is good country but the risks are also there now.

i've heard similar stories from my friends who live in canada but along with these reasons you guys could've mentioned RACISM also. there is a increase in racism incidents happening especially with indians. i thought of moving to canada in 2020 but pandemic put a full stop to my plans and i'm glad that i didn't move there.

Bro, I'm living in Vancouver from last year. Took 40 Lakhs of Loan for My MBA, chipped in money for fees. Till date I've got no benefit from Canada, except for bills and spending money on taxes and rent. This is damn true! - Work permits are getting queries, PR files are getting rejection. No job part time opportunities.\n\n1. Renting a room, especially for boys is the hardest if you are looking a private room. (my rent is 950$ for a private room, i struggle to pay this every month - without having a job)\n2. All banks want you to get enrolled as a student, then give credit cards, so you can easily buy things and pay them more and get you involved in the loop. \n3. I've applied in almost every job for part time, got rejection due to no available positions (Reasons : too many applicants)\n4. You are not gonna get a job in your field, unless you are into finance or IT with a found background.\n5. I DAILY SEE OUR PEOPLE ALSO GETTING ATTRACTED TO THIS CULTURE, SMOKING WEED ON A DAILY BASIS AND DOING MANY THINGS WHICH I FEEL STUDENTS MUST NOT DO. \n6. For my chest pain, they kept me waiting 4 hours in a line. Asked me that if i can stand and sit for a while then i must not worry. I was completely weak at that time, shivering and going through 101 fever.\n7. 75$ monthly for MSP insurance we pay as temporary residents -> still waiting for 4 hours to meet the doctor.\n8. Current situation of students is worse here, no opportunities for many students who come with hope, especially if they are coming for PGDM, or bachelors. Currently at this time only, MASTERS is given a priority.\n9. Don't think about applying for PR, unless you are filthy rich, unless you have exceptional skills in the industries which IRCC is looking for.\n10. Racism is at its peak, especially only on students** sad thing to say but yes this is the reality of international students.\n\n\nI hope all my brothers and sisters here come with a planning, strategy and best and worst case scenarios preparation. It's been 6+ years in canada , canada is no longer an immigrant country, has high food prices , has no jobs for freshers, has very high rental , has high car insurance, failed the medical system. I'm planning to move india soon. If you do not want to waste your 6 years like me to realize, stay back home. I'm proud, indian.with that mindset, sometime you have to face racism too.

My parents are Pakistani ?? and my ancestors (I think my grandparents too) are Indian ??. As a MUSLIM TRUCK DRIVER born and raised in Canada ??, I’ll say this inshaa Allah . Racism has no place in Islam. However, stereotype is permitted in Islam. I’ve had my AZ license for 7.5 years. Believe, you, me, almost every safety class I took, whether it was with small trucking companies or big ones like Canada Cartage, I saw the male Indian students taking the class in a non-serious manner. They didn’t act like they cared. They were simply sitting there, cracking jokes, screwing around, saying stuff like \n\n“Who cares about this safety class? Just get the load, drop it off and that’s it.”\n\nBut when they get into accidents, they’re sitting their with their jaws dropped and pants down\n\nAnd I’m. It saying this driver took safety as a joke\nBut I know my Pakistanis and Indians just like I know my Canadians - they just don’t take safety seriously cuz safety isn’t really taken seriously in India and Pakistan

Sadly these comments are full of racism, condemnation, and hatred, with no consideration for the possibility that this could have been you, a family member, a friend, or a loved one driving that truck, but for the grace of God go I. Anyone of us could have been driving that transport and found ourselves in that exact situation, but I'm sure none of us consider ourselves to be evil, just human, imperfect, and succeptible to momentary lapses of judgement, that can result in horrific, life altering accidents(eg a child drowning in a pool, a child falling from a balcony, a car accident, accidently striking someone on a bicycle, accidently striking a pedestrian etc).

Yup. As a Canadian citizen with Chinese background who is now moving permanently to the US, I testify. I’m not settling for the cold characterless mediocrity that is Canada. It just doesn’t sit well with me. The US has its problems but I’d rather deal with a nation with problems than a nation with no spirit or character. \n\nBest example is racism. I disagree with the mass immigration under his reign: Canada’s healthcare system has been on life support for decades… inflation, tent cities and food insecurity. We need to fix our own problems before allowing immigration: “we need to put on our own O2 mask before helping others”. Stating that, since the Indian population has grown in Brampton, what’s the solution? They are already there— i know many ppl who have come to Canada and do not know the language, can only speak Italian, and Chinese… to name a few. Most of the points you made were correct, however the whole racism that’s liberal government propaganda, and just to clarify I’m emigrant my self so not Canadian. You made a point of big 5 banks having white leadership that is NOT true, I work for one of them I can tell you they hire much more people from minority communities rather then white people. At one point I was the only white person at my department in 2019. Also check TD Bank or other banks they do have people from minority communities in their leadership.

I hate Brampton. 5 years ago u worked there for a year. The traffic was bad, the drivers were worse, the air smelled terrible even though we were off in empty fields, and there's blatant racism towards non-Indians in shops and stores. After we finished the job there, I never went back. Although now they're also filling up toronto, Vaughan and Woodbridge, it's only a matter of time before they suffer the same fate.\nI'm considering abandoning Ontario.

As a non Canadian and non Muslim I keep trying to talk to my Canadian husband about moving to Mexico with me, I am already in here and I cannot stress enough about how much happier I am here, beautiful weather, cheaper and just better in so many ways. I’m so happy for you guys. I def encountered racism in Canada as a Latin girl, even tho Canada has a lot of different cultures.

I think racism is on the rise in Canada, because communites are seeing masses of Indians overtaking their community and erasing canadian culture and replacing it with their own. India is a third world country, I don't think nice canadian communities are receptive to tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of Indians then coming into that community and speaking their own language, playing their own music, following their own relegion, celebrating their own holidays, dressing like they do back home, playing cricket and soccer etc... and that becoming common place rather than tradidional canadian culture. They want canada to stay Canadian and I'm all for that. Not to mention the housing crisis.

Most of these negative issues have risen in the last decade and are true...I'm not sure why anyone would want to come here anymore, let alone stay here. I do not 100% agree with the racism comment....yes there are those few idiots, but strangely never saw or heard it most of my life except in recent years since ultra left University educated policy maker crowd has been reminding everyone daily how racist and privileged white people are. When you tell children and people that constantly it creates division....perhaps this is where her comment came from?

As an Indigenous person in Canada I agree with you 100%. Living here my whole life I am more then aware of the racism and colonial government policies. I have tried my best to study the history of Palistine and it saddens me and frustrates me that Canada supports the genocide in Gaza. I'm not surprised thou.

Before moving please make sure what you would be doing in a new country for living? Will you be able to manage until you pickup your earnings. You have kids!! will you be able to pay for their educations, house rents, medicine if necessary etc. so on and so forth..\n\nBut one thing i wanted to check many Indians are moving to Canada for a better life, i''m little surprised to see you moving out of Canada, why don't you guys try jobs in IT companies? They pay well and it should solve your major problems, the winter thing you can control by using heaters and Government thing i think it would change after sometime.. Insha'Allah in future a government is elected who would support Palestine, and racism about Islam just ignore it and try to have some workaround, because its all over the non Muslim world and Muslim countries are being destroyed one by one.\n\n*India might not be your choice to move but just incase if you wish then you have your brother here, i will try my best to setup a business for you guys, or if you want to teach English in schools, colleges here you will be paid good i believe because India is moving towards becoming a English country and Masha'Allah you guys speak good English.*

I'm so sorry to hear what you guys went through. I always thought Canada was the best when it came to nice people but I was wrong. \nAs for country options, definitely check out China, it is such a beautiful and peaceful country. You will deal with little to no racism there. \nCountries to avoid: America ?

Brampton tons of Indians.. ok.. so u have Indians who want to make a good life for themselves and their families? Let me tell you why. \n\nNo racism. \nVery multicultural. \nNo need to learn Turkish \nLearn Arabic. \nVery cheap and affordable \nVery friendly people \nReligious people \nLots of religious schools. \nGreat weather year round \nNo snow. No minus temperature. \nDoesn’t get below 10 degrees celsius from what I know. \nClosest Muslim country to Canada and USA from the east coast.
