I am proud of our little brother Canada standing UP!! In no way do I believe that Justin Trudeau thinks Trump is a smart man. Go Canada. You STAND UP on that side and we'll STAND UP in here!!

You know the other person screwd up when you find yourself siding with Trudeau. Hopefully the people of the US and Canada can fix what Trump is breaking. ??

From Germany, great respect for Canada and Mr. Trudeau who delivered a moving speech. Also a shout out to all our American friends who do not fall for Mr. Trump's lies and his bulldozer politics. I truly hope we all come out of these trying times alive and well, both sides of the Atlantic and beyond. The only chance we have is to stand together.

Unfortunately Trudeau has decided to step down. Had he shown our people this side of him years ago I’m sure he’d be seen in a different light and would never have made the decision to step down as PM. Great work PM Trudeau ??

Looking in from the out side I applaud Trudeau on his speech. But........ Canada needs the USA more than the USA needs Canada. Trump is who the United States elected by a majority. No games..... no fraud..... He IS THE Average large pickup driving, loud and rude American. He Is America and the rest of the world needs to take note.\n\n To be fair, in historical terms, the USA was created to be isolated and different than Europe. They went to War to become an independent country away from Europe. This whole idea that they follow Europe everywhere is only a small blip in history since WW2, they were never set up to be that.\n\n If Anything, the rest of the world should see there mistake in becoming so dependent on the USA. You should never put that much faith and trust in just one country.

I am American and as an independent i truly apologize ,and im ashamed in out elected leader and the incapable cabinet . i did not vote for him and i hope we can get control of our house again from this nuthouse i wish u well and hope that we can all get through this together instead of allowing him to continue to decide. I was questioning PM Trudeau for his foreign relationships and dealing with Khalistan separatists and straining Canada's relationship with India. But this speech changed that perception. I like how he addresses the very issue. Crystal clear and a very matured leader I would now change my position about him. This trade war will really hurt both sides. It may help govt as businesses will pay more on sales taxes. But it will ultimately hurt the consumers, especially middle and low income folks on both sides of the border a big way. There are so many problems to solve in USA and he focused on this.

Before everyone loses their mind over the grandstanding on either side… They should take some time to research the import/export world. If Trudeau thought he had the upper hand in this, he would have dropped the hammer. He doesn’t. The US economy will find a workaround before the 21 days are up, and Canada will have even less of a leg to stand on.

This means that Trudeau himself is measuring his words and deliberately using diplomatic language.
