This reduction to 395,000 is ridiculous. These people are a joke. Every Uber driver in our town is Indian. These good folks come here thinking they'll get a job with a future. There are now so many Ubers in town, its cheaper to drive in an Uber than your own car.

Wishful ? Ng - came across a Pakistani family with 6K per month govt payout because they got approval for asylum. Another young man is getting 2K every month though he says he has no issue in his home country and now trying to get rest of family here too from Pakistan so that they all can apply for asylum. Canada is getting cash workers for low wages jobs - Uber drivers, servers , grocery store cashiers. for life long just like Europe has been for so many years.

There not coming here for education, its a joke , reality check....800 million Indians only make $2 a day in India, there here to stay and then they bring there wife's, parents ,children, etc under compassionate grounds. As an Indian, I feel that Canada has most corrupted Immigration system. The number of low skilled and unskilled PR holders in Canada is outrageous whereas People who are highly skilled are finding it really difficult to get a PR. Canada does not need more Uber drivers or Fast Food workers. It needs teachers, nurses, doctors, IT engineers, HR proffessionals etc.

If you don't want to have Uber drivers, the first thing you need to do is change the system of hiring highly skilled professionals. I was shocked to find out that even software engineers need a recommendation from one of the IT companies in Canada to get hired. This is such nonsense, especially considering the fact that Canada is far from the best country for technical professionals.

In the last 4 years I have been nearly hit by Indian immigrant drivers who do not obey traffic laws in Ontario. I have met drivers driving the wrong way on way streets Indian, Drivers making illegal U turns and nearly hitting me Indian, drivers who change lanes in the middle of intersection Indian, every time my phone rings there is an Indian pretending to be CRA, or Amazon trying to scam money. Every fast food place is staffed by Indians who barely speak English can't be understood and fuck up the order. I have Indian customer ask me to break the law and carry more passengers than there are seat belts in my van I am tired of it I am tired having to compete against international students who come here on student visa's to study at some scam diploma mill college but not go to any classes and drive Uber. I am tired of having to play by the rules and compete with people who say fuck the rules. So don't let the door hit you fuckers on the way out.

Indo Canadian here. Anti Immigration <> Racism. It is about selecting need based immigrants and not project Management diplomas. We need nursing, Doctors etc and not Uber drivers. For those who are in healthcare qualified and driving ubers need a path to certification. The Other aspect is scapegoating as immigrants are the easy targets. While real issue is the policymakers who enabled this mess. Essentially promoting falsehood, setting false expectations and getting wrong allocation of immigrants. That first comment saying we don’t need a million more Ubers drivers and Tim Hortons workers doesn’t come across very well. Lots of people coming here are highly educated. \nOn the other hand. Tims hires immigrants because the typical “Canadian” minimum wage worker doesn’t show up to shifts, are late frequently, or have poor work ethics. Immigrants are reliable because they don’t have a plan b or anyone to fall back on if they don’t have money coming in.
