I think if the USA doesn't honour the trade agreement than neither does Canada. I say no more intellectual protection for US tech. That will truly hit them where it hurts.

All these years US has a trade deficit of 1 trillion dollars every year. With tariffs we could have recovered 250 billion every year. That is a lot of money. Currently every American owes $110,000 because of the accumulated debt of 36.5 trillion.\n\nJustin, how long are we supposed to bend back wards while US has a trade deficit of trillion dollar over the past 20 years. Why cant to you balance the imports and exports so that you don't have to keep taking advantage of USA. CNN did not see the trade deficit every single year for 20 years? what are they talking about? Our news channels have just become political entities rather than looking for the greater good of the Americans. One is for Republicans and others for Democrats - ridiculous. \n\nCanada and Mexico are saying, please stop tariffs, it is going to hurt America. LOL. No it is not. If tariffs were there in 2024, US would have gotten back 15 billion dollar revenue from Canada and Mexico would have paid 46 billion to USA. All this time, this was affecting only Americans and while you are enjoying not paying for your share, you have made US pay by taking loans to pay for the imports increasing our Debt. Yes it has been hurting America for the past 20 years, otherwise how did we accumulate 36.5 trillion debt.\n\nLike Justin said, if Canada can survive while paying 15 billion to USA, of course USA will do fine while collecting the 15 billion from Canada and 46 billion form Mexico. What do you all think that the public is blind?\n\nTo the American Public: Why would we impose tariffs, if that is going to hurt the US. And why are Canada and Mexico shaking in their boots? It would be naive, if you think it is out of their good heart. It had been hurting US for the past 20 years and they did not care. This time it is going to hurt them so all this fuss. The bottom line is that they don't want to pay all the excess that they have been dumping on us while they were benefiting. USA will use the revenue generated (total around 250 billion for 2025 form tariffs) to reduce our tax, make things more affordable, inject in to our own businesses and generate more employment.

Thanks so much for your advice Teacher Mr. Trudeau. When we Americans need some more lecturing about what you think is best for us, we'll be sure to ask. Obviously, you know what is expected of you regarding the border but haven't done it to the satisfaction of USA leadership. In the interim, do your best imitation of a liberal and cry us a river. And Justin, just so you now, our president's name is President Trump for you, not 'Donald'.

First economic war then a military invasion. I believe the Americans are setting the stag for a ground invasion of Canada using the escalating trade war as a pretext for a real war. I think everyone needs to consider the possibility that Trump may in fact be an agent of Russia with a single mission to bring down the USA and her allies.

He only cares about himself. If you do not have the fight that comes from being proud of your country, you guys are gonna be easy pickings. Do everything you can to find pride in your country. I was glad that not too long ago... Trump actually did say the truth to the American people: Canada imports 95% of it's goods from the USA... with us refusing to buy American, with all of us buying Canadian or International products instead... how will he be making America great again ?? By bankrupting the country ?? Does he thinks that 25% tariffs will make Canadians shake in their pants and all of a sudden want to be the 51st State ?? No, it's just like bringing us back to the days before NAFTA. We were able to live back then and we will be able to now as well.

Dont put Tariffs on the USA as they are passed onto the end user/consumer which are the American people. Put the prices up on your sale of electricity, oil and gas 25% that the US government buys, so it hits them first and they will think twice. ..... As a Brazilian, i don't know why Canadians are still trying tho deal with America. It's clearly not a democratic government. Brazil and Canada has dealt for so long, it's time to increase this. I think Trumps secret plan is to bankrupt USA because its in the interest of Russia. I have come to believe he is a secret Russian spy put in place to destroy as much as he can. I live in Nashville, TN USA. I am so sorry Canada is suffering due to Trump. I do not support this move on Trump's part. I never voted for him. I’m a Canadian and no fan of Prime Minister Trudeau. It’s unfortunate the best speech he ever gave was after he resigned as Prime Minister. What he has said in this speech is absolutely true, despite the fact, I think Trump is doing some good things for the USA. This Terrif war with your neighbour is stupid. Unfortunately for us in Canada our Prime Minister has not given us the tools and freedom to grow economically and prosper the way we should have. Canadians should be living like Kings, but unfortunately are living paycheque to paycheque because of the stranglehold that our Prime Minister has put on businesses and its citizens. Now Canada has very little leverage, I believe to fight this Terrif war.
