I'm also an immigrant, been in Canada for 16 years, came here initially for uni. It's funny that I have no negative feelings towards immigrants from any other countries but India. And I didn't have any negative feeling toward them before I came to Canada, if anything, I only remember something positive my grandma telling me about Indian people being beautiful, that they have big beautiful eyes. After I came to Canada, over the years, based on countless personal experiences dealing with them, sadly my conclusion is 99% of them are bad, 1% are the exception. They are aggressive, rude, stinky, unhygienic, dishonest, always trying to take financial advantage of people or situations to save a few more bucks by being super annoying or cheating, extremely disrespectful and aggressive towards women!! Really nothing is appealing about them. And at a job position, 1 Indian will bring 10 Indians, 10 will bring 100, they are slowly encroaching the environment and taking over everything. Other races try to assimilate into the local culture, while the Indians are imposing theirs onto the local and other cultures. Canada feels like it's turning into a second India. It's lost its politeness, manner, rules etc. I no longer want to live here, I plan to move back to my country after a few years. And I don't really go to Tim Hortons anymore cuz the Indians are taking over all the franchises and lowered the standards of Hygiene and friendliness. I don't think I'm being racist, cuz I'm not having all these negative feelings based on their skin colour or origin. It's purely based on real life experiences in dealing with them.

Honestly reading these comments & watching this video, I am proud to be from the USA... We truly give everyone a chance, everyone is welcome. All languages, colors, religions... it's funny how the media tries to make the U.S. sound racist. It is the most diverse in the world. Europeans love to act like they are supreme.... but in the end they are mostly all Nationalist & racist in their own ways. YGood day. For from context I'll reveal a little about me. I am around 27% Indian, 34% northern African people which is around 61% combined. My other ancestry includes Wales, Sweden, Norway Scottish and Irish, Hebrew/ jew as in from 12 tribes of Israel, However, the world calls me black Jamaican born. I live in small town with population under 41,000 people in northern Ontario Canada for past 21 years. I remember when I came here with company contracted to build and say very few black people mostly French African and some mixed black with some Chinese probably total under 20 people other than white or indigenous peoples. Over the years was steady increase of black, Chinese, Philippino, and my Indian doctor and his family to maybe total around 50 none white none indigenous peoples. Just before pandemic we had a large number of Indian students which was awesome to see considering my heritage as my grandmother on dad side was Indian. But a year before pandemic we noticed many started working in convenient stores and fast food places like most high school students do to save for college/university which was becoming a problem for Canadian students as some employers got incentives or cheaper labour to maximize profits. As pandemic rolled in so it seems more Indian students from other regions in Canada. So, Canada, Ontario, and small town I reside already had huge housing problems as some homes we even to be condemned and indigenous homeless from north increased crime rates and now we had students living beyond building code occupancy with shared living causing rentals to shoot up in prices as landlords became greedy and selfish. This small town of under 41,000 is by some estimates over 55,000 by increasing Indian students who for past 5 years fighting to get permanent residents even though they came as students which proves the goal was always invasion and coming as students was the ticket. If you and rest of new immigrants don't see the problem yet, I'll continue. 95% of taxis have Indian drivers, 98% food and other delivery Indian, 90%+ convenience and groceries, clothing and all stores 90%+ , vehicles on roads 70% Indian, my son barely got into college with 90%+ Indian population in college and his class is 2 white students, himself only mixed , and 2 Africans and 22 Indian students who cheats on a regular basis but professor afraid to confront as they are quick to call racism. But even bigger for me is these Indian students/new immigrants have no respect for the history of Canada and USA not knowing how indigenous peoples were raped tortured and murdered to take over this country and then enslaved African people to build this country while they raped tortured treat less than animals and still suffering with fighting for equal rights for over 400yrs while still being racially profiled and beaten and murdered by police officers because of this colonizers system. Now you come here and benefits from black and indigenous peoples struggles and claiming rights when you have not been fighting the battles with us or for us. Also, the criminal aspects of your community is not being taked about as well which includes extortion to businesses owned by Indians, car thefts, drug trafficking, human trafficking and other criminal activities. There's so much more than just saying you feel unloved by the people you're taking things from for their children and grandchildren and generations without showing any respect as that is defined as selfish. You and many new immigrants forget this is not India and expect everyone to bow to you and that is what we are against. i Have some awesome friends that are new immigrants and are respectful and want to learn about history and current events and impacts they have and how to reprove Canada not destroy Canada

Aren't we all illegal immigrants technically living on this earth. I lived in Canada when I was 5 years old. I don't remember much from when I was 5 years old but I remember the feeling of home Canada gave me. I was happiest in Canada and my family felt safe and grateful to be there. I left Canada in only a year though cause we went there to study English, and I was very sad because Canada was the best place ever for me. I've been to several countries but Canada always had me in love. I was planning on going back for college and living there, but when I realized the state Canada is now, I was heartbroken because it looked nothing like the amazing place I had lived in years back. I'm still very sad about this and I pray the Canada I used to know will be back one day so that I can return to the place that was the closest thing I've ever felt like home.

If you don't care enough to respect the country which you're living you're not worthy of staying in that country. As simple as that. You do not own this country or India for that matter, learn to respect the people and culture of the country you're staying in. Keeping aside Canadia's vices, we always have to remember that this land is our home for the number of years we're studying here. If you wouldn't do something it in your own home, you shouldn't do anywhere else. It's because of people like these all the Indians receive hate. People like me who genuinely care about education and respect the Canadian Culture suffer. Although I am glad that most of the Canadians that I have came across till now have been able to understand how different I am from the bad experiences they've had in the past and treat me well. I am grateful for this opportunity that I have received.

Indians are the worst. I think it is their attidude, behaviour, stubborness, entitledness and stupidity that makes them the worst. \nI remember few years ago I was working in a supermarket when one indian lady and her indian boyfriend approached me looking for a sweet watermelon so i showed her the sweetest watermelon in the market and out of nowhere she told me “If this watermelon is not sweet I will come back and I will squash this watermelon in your head ok”. I have so many bad experiences involving indian rude attidudes and behaviours at work and even in public places. Indians always think they are always above others. They don’t follow traffic rules, road tailgaters, they always leaving beautiful places thrashed. They play loud bollywood music in public places. It is their behaviour the reason why they are being targeted by many communities.

I remember a few Indian immigrant families during the 70s to 90s and they were very respectful nice families in our community. But now in 2017-2024 all these immigrants from Punjab are always very rude to me at my workplace. The women never say hello to me (I am a white female) and they just walk by me arrogantly or look down and away. They're always gossiping with each otger and wasting time at work. In a racist way while I'm at work I overheard one woman calling me and other white people my brother and sister while laughing. Even the men are always gossiping and this makes the men look feminine because gossiping is usually a feminine issue in the west, and gossiping Indian men now all look very un-masculune to me.\nI notice at work Indians will only help other Indians. They seem self absorbed about themselves and act very entitled, and lazy, they always seem to be wanting to be superior in some way, Overall, 100% I have not had a good experience wuth Indians wirking in the Canaduan workforce. They are not nice to work with and actually have made the Canadian workplace wirk ethic very degraded.

It is law of the land, like it or not just accept it. I did my masters from United States, and later worked there for a decade. As person born in India, I can never get green card of the United States. After leaving to India for good, I realized I cannot adjust in India, US would never accept me, so I came to Canada. But like every person who moved from US to Canada, not a day goes without missing the US. People in Canada are amazed why I left US and came to Canada. People from other country of birth can easily get US green card and eventually citizenship, but I can never get one. So should I start hating the US? Nope. I am grateful to US for everything. I came from a poor family in India, with less than 8000 USD in my parents saving. I studied in US free of cost sponsored by research grants, did top notch academic research, and worked on top notch industrial research. Due to which I had no issues finding job in India, and directly got interview and job offer in Canada, Sweden and UK while sitting at my home in India.\nUS would always be my home, does not matter I have a green card or not. I would always remember US and miss it, in good memory.

I am living in Canada right now and I agree with all the points mentioned however,\n1. As a lady I feel safe, no one judge me for my clothes, no one stare me disgustingly and no one consider I am his private property to assault.\n2. I feel safe when my kid goes outside to play. People here follows laws strictly. Vehicle stops even at signal allows them to proceed, always I repeat always driver signals me to proceed.\n3. I feel happy that my husband is valued in his office and much appreciated. His seniors credit him for his hard work and everyone here encourage us to have proper work life balance.\n4 I agree we pay high tax but atleast we are getting benefits in return. Public libraries, transport system are top notches. \n5. Banking, health care, all government facilities are very systematic. We were not even aware we have completed 18 months in Canada and we received letter from government stating very soon my son's child benefit will start. We didn't even enquired about it. They processed it automatically as per our arrival date.\n6. And lastly, we celebrated Independence Day here in Calgary, it was great event and all officers were protecting us. I clearly remember while dancing , huge Indian flag dropped down by a toddler and one Chinese officer,he picked it up and gave it to nearby adult.\n\nLife is valued, humans are respected,laws are followed here so I don't regret my decision of migrating but yes, honestly I do miss India as well and I am proud I am an Indian.

Grass is always greener... I lived in Europe (Switzerland and Luxembourg) for about one year just to realize that Canada is what I missed the most cause it is home... You will likely return one year from living abroad and remember my comment...

I have been shocked to learn how Canadians have given up r surrended their freedoms to the politicians. Legalizing hard drugs and the permissive application of the law is disturbing. I've always had a high regard for Canada, but giving up the right to protect yourself or your family is too much, too draconian. And the Universal Health Care is great, if you are healthy, but if you are sick or hurt- not so much. Wishing you luck finding a better culture. ( I have been equally shocked at Australia. Remember seeing three policemen arresting a young woman, quietly reading a book in a park, in the sun? That was totally shocking to me. People so easily give up their personal freedoms to the Government).

Visiting foreign countries is one thing, but living in a foreign country is a different thing, especially if you're not born and raised there. Every country have the good parts and their issues. Good luck with your decision, and always remember your roots. Having travel to many parts of this world and experiences I'll never forget, never give up your Canadian citizenship. After trying to make up my mind to move to a foreign country, I discovered my home is where my roots are. This is where I returned to and this is where I'll stay now with no thoughts of ever leaving again.

Although I agree Canada is in trouble, don't be fooled to think other countries are doing better. Always remember running from a problem and thinking the grass is greener elsewhere is a good way to end up exhausted and disheartened.

Hi Alina !! Good for you!! GOOOO!!!!I lived in Japan and China for a decade. I came back to Canada 4 years ago to find a decadent, unsafe, expensive country. Canada is not the shadow of the amazing country that I deeply loved. The only way I could survive these last four years was to leave Canada for at least 4 months a year. I am leaving Canada again tomorrow, but this time is for good. Do I feel sad? not anymore. I will always remember Canada but the new reality is just a nightmare !!!!

40 to 50 hours a week? I work that in Australia as an Australian. Indian universities aren't necessarily recognised overseas. Even then I've worked with many as engineers and got uber rides from many just as an example. Different cultural system. This is just my personal experience. \n\nYou have to remember that India has been studied as on of the most intolerant countries in the world. I've never got that impression from the majority of other nationalities I've worked with. Even had and engineer quit on his first ay because he couldn't accept another Indian as his superior. ?‍♂️ why?\n\nIm just saying. You can look up the worldwide studies that rank India so high for intolerance easily. These are large surveys. \n\nEnd of the day when you have large immigration spikes without infrastructure it is doomed and you will get a lot of misplaced hatred towards immigrants as low to middle class locals rents/ house prices explode. Not to mention the low skilled jobs that immigrants will do cheaper. \n\nImmigration is a cheap way for developed countries to increase GDP. i remember when i first started using skip i was slightly embarrassed of goddamn lazy it is. i always remember how lazy it is so i don't ever complain about someone running my food to me which may or may not be several blocks away from where i live lmfao... unless they steal/rip you off/ or take a HUGE detour to get to you for some reason, don't fkcing complain.

I agree with most of the information in this video. I lived in Canada from 2015-2021. When i used to attend college, parking lot always smelled like weed. People were always lined up at the “recreation drugstore” even in excruciating cold. Also, the job market is bad, most of the employers are racist. Permanent residency is very hard to get. Free health care is actually not free. It is deducted from your every single pay checks. If you had any emergencies, be ready to wait for more than 10+ hours; sometimes more than that. I remember when back in 2015, prime minister justin, got more than 5 thousand Syrian refugees, and people were complaining that they are currently facing job shortages, housing issues and many other things but their needs were completely ignored. I recently visited Canada, and it’s getting worse now, lots of traffic, crime and homeless people. I would still recommend if you want to go and get educated because the education system is good. But if your goal is only for settlement then i would suggest to apply for permanent residence first.

I was really lucky to visit Toronto in 2000-2002 and practice some Portuguese and Italian. The first time, I came by train from Chicago and arrived at 1 AM. I was scared as I waited for the trolley on Dundas St. But to my surprise there was a young lady enjoying the late night and she even talked to me (something that wouldn't happen in Southern CA). I discovered that if was safe to walk until 2 AM in Toronto. It was really pleasant to explore Little Portugal, Chinatown and other neighborhoods. I remember that it hit the 30s with some humidity, but the reward was taking a bus to Niagara Falls at 50% off for being a student. However, I was sad to discover that the old transportation is gone, and prices have skyrocketed (food and hotels). It's not just Covid-19, but the corruption of thousands of politicians in NorthAmerica that have started wars and the flow of drugs and people. I would never think that Canada could change so drastically. But I still think that Toronto could be enjoyable ( what I really didn't like was the subway, since the stations are far away from important sites as opposed to Montréal that is so convenient). I still remember how Pearson airport was enjoyable to walk. But to see encampments like LA, SD or SF in Toronto is really sad. Hopefully, in the near future it gets cleaned up. You can't destroy what took decades to build and admire in a few years. Safety is always a concern in 2024, but Toronto is much better than CA.

My grandfather was freedom fighter, he lived in Chittagong (now in Bengladesh) .. he was deeply connected with his land.. he always mourns about the partition... He vividly remembered how in one night his muslim neighbours threaded him to leave... He was noble person...

i grew up in Brampton 20 years ago, a child of Caribbean parents. Whenever I go back I can say Yes, Brampton has changed over the years. I also remember that white/Canadian people were always the population struggling with substance abuse- particularly in the downtown area. Conflating the influx of indians with the downturn of white canadians seems to just fuel animosity and scape goat the issue onto a population of people that's probably just trying to seek a better life. why not ask the government to provide better social programs for those in need rather than fueling hate ? Why not investigate the structural issues that have contributed to this situation i.e. politicians gaining votes by doing xyz, or look into what people may be facing in the homelands? That would be a better piece of journalism imo. I think this video is highlighting this issue in ways history has seen before... can't we do better?

Toronto was my home town...I am now 73 but have lived in Norwich, England for decades. My relatives have moved out of Toronto to the Muskokas; but they always tell me how expensive the city now is. My cousin was in real estate so he knows whereof he speaks! Another cousin has moved to New Brunswick. I cannot go back any more because I always see more societal decline and it depresses me thoroughly. The Toronto of the Centennial year 1967 I will always remember fondly: a paradise!
