I’m with Canada on this matter. We don’t betray our friends like that. I will commit my support on this issue by using whatever “freedom of speech” I have and by inserting my opposing view in pro-trump videos that speak ill of Canada. Thank you Trudeau, and I am sorry.

Terrific! If Trudeau would always talk and act like this, he'd for sure still be prime minister. Sadly he doesn't. \nBut this was such a great speech, wonderful. The complete opposite of the screaming, ranting, insulting, hating and nearly exploding blood preasure patient orange the u.s. calls president.

As a Canadian for 45 years, we all know others write his speeches and this like many of his speeches sounds overly scripted. In this respect, I actually prefer Trump who has less filters when he speaks. Trump is clearly trying to save America from further drowing in debt by increasing government revenue while minimizing expenses which is commendable although I don't approve of all his tactics.

I don't like Trudeau but he ripped Donald a new asshole with this speech

Excellent speech coming from a man I don't particularly like. I feel a sense of strength, pride and resilience, and I'm neither American nor Canadian.

Trump can't give a speech without it becoming a whine about how unfairly he is being treated.\nTrudeau, in the face of actual oppression, is calm, steady and professional.\nThe difference is like night and day.

Mr Trudeau is extraordinarily soft, soft as feathers, it really amazes me that Canada and Mexico rush the all month of Jan and Feb to captures felons to avoid tariffs, very poor speech. He claims that he is doing it to protect the people from Canada the real question is why you didn’t do it before.\nClaudia Sheinbaum also rushing to capture the bad guys, when clearly Trump is offering help to capture the corrupt politicians and cartel lords but No, instead she delivers 29 guys that were already captured and been in jail for years… What it’s this ? It’s like ordering a Ribeye steak and getting a pizza. Come on !!

Wish we would here the same out of the White House. \n\nAs a german who knows about german history and how everything started back then I'm terrified how fast the United States of America are moving towards a dictatorship.\n\nEvery politician around the free world should be worried about what is going to happen if DT keeps doing what he is doing, which is undermining every treaty and contract the US is having with the rest of the world.\n\nAnd on a personal note: as a child I always dreamed of someday moving to the USA. After beeing there on holiday in 2017 and also driving to Canada to visit some friends, that dream changed.\n\nDon't get me wrong, I still love your country, but you elected the worst President for the second time! WHY??? You could have known what it would be like, everything was reported on by this network and many others.\n\nAs one commentator said: this is not going to end well. And I and most of Europe and the rest of the world are thinking the same and we are afraid of the things to come.

This is leadership, devoid of self-interest, bigotry, cowardice, or division. It is hard to be misrepresented by “Donald”, who is desecrating what it means to be an American. Prime Minister Trudeau’s speech is inspirational and would fill me with fighting spirit if I were a Canadian. “Donald” contributed the divisions in our country and now he is isolating us from our allies. As Americans, we are stuck in a relationship with an over narcissist. Being American stays alive in every one of us who upholds the ideals of our country. A president is a civil servant, so he is our employee. He does not behave like an employee and as such, he should be fired. It is what “Donald” would do. ??‍♂️

Ask if Alberta believes Trudeau is for them like Trump is for the USA. Ask the truckers if they believe this speech.

As an American, Trudeau, as he mentioned in his speech, is no friend of mine. These tariffs aren't going to hurt me any more than the last 4 years in america has under democrat leadership. I lost family to fentanyl, I lost my job due to terrible democrat economic policies. I lost my home. I lost my savings. I lost all hope of ever owning a home. Im losing my mother to what I am sure was the jab. I've got nothing left to take. Tariffs aren't going to hurt me. Liberal policies, from people just like Trudeau, have destroyed my life. I want to see him in ruins.\n\nI feel for the citizens of Canada. I don't care what liberal news media says- I know that Canadian people want him gone too.

Please keep in mind, that all the issues we have in Canada are because of Trudeau. He's been in power for almost a decade. The widespread drug abuse and crime is because of him being weak on policy and handing out drugs like candy paid by tax payers. More people died from fentanyl in Canada than our soldiers in WWII. That is all on his watch. He is only making these changes because of Trump. What kind of a leader is Trudeau to only become Canada first when a person from outside the country threatens him? He is a horrible leader and a traitor to the Citizens and the Country we call Canada. Regardless of what his speech is, he cannot be trusted with his globalist agenda. He has stepped down (thank goodness!!) and Canada is looking forward to having Pierre Poilievre as our PM.

So for everyone fawning over Trudeau's ability to be articulate, that is impressive to you only because the U.S. has had a piece of steamed broccoli named Biden as a figure head for the last 4 years.\nI can't say I understand Trump's strategy with respect to Canada, but I absolutely know that Trump is no Socialist like Trudeau is. I am happy to wait and see how this shakes out because Trump has been right on so, so many things. No one is perfect, not Trump and not Trudeau. Maybe it's not about drugs. Maybe Canada could offer to go back to respecting individual liberties and free speech in return for the elimination of U.S. tariffs. Sounds like something Trump would agree to.

After a speech like this, discourse and solutions are supposed to follow. I’m Canadian. My family have always been Liberals but I’m not much of a Trudeau fan myself. For today, it doesn’t matter whether you like the man or not, Trudeau deserves a standing ovation for his speech and the actions he is taking. That’s what a leader of a country should sound like and react like. It’s going to be a tough road ahead for us but together we will pull through this. Stay strong my fellow Canadians, we got this. ❤

I don't like Trudeau, but this speech was great. Intelligent when he needed to be, simple when addressing Trump. A strong start to this trade war which as he said, we don't want. I’m a Canadian and no fan of Prime Minister Trudeau. It’s unfortunate the best speech he ever gave was after he resigned as Prime Minister. What he has said in this speech is absolutely true, despite the fact, I think Trump is doing some good things for the USA. This Terrif war with your neighbour is stupid. Unfortunately for us in Canada our Prime Minister has not given us the tools and freedom to grow economically and prosper the way we should have. Canadians should be living like Kings, but unfortunately are living paycheque to paycheque because of the stranglehold that our Prime Minister has put on businesses and its citizens. Now Canada has very little leverage, I believe to fight this Terrif war.
