My grandfather fought in wwII. It's sad but I'm so happy he is not here to see what has become of this country he fought and risked his life for. Its so pathetic . I've always been proud to be Canadian now I want to get out of this country and live elsewhere. I feel my grandfather left his family risked his life for Canadians to be living in encampments while we continue to allow more immigrants into this country that do not respect it. Not only can we not find housing and are living in tents. It's funny but I don't see any immigrants living in tents. Where can I vote to be the 51st state. Sign me up

We have so many jobs that only hire immigrants my lil town I can’t even find a job I haven’t graduated and the one’s I can I need my graduate to get one and the jobs like Tim Hortons subway a&w grocery stores dollar store every job here only hire them it’s dumb I’ve been out a job for 3 years and the one’s that don’t hire kid’s cause it’s cheaper and people are starting to not want to live in Canada cause of it than you have prices going up housing going up

you also can't forget the asylum seekers making 80 some thousand dollars a year. And a lot of these asylum seekers are frauds. And a lot of these people who are doing this to the system want to leave the country as soon as the system finds out

I barely see a canadian working a minimum job.. and I know its not because they are not applying. They simply want to hire mainly Indians because they know they will work even on holidays. Its disgusting. Even immigrants for example Caribbean or african descent are having trouble finding a regular job here. Its all given to Indian people. Once one gets hired, they choose to only hire them and their friends.

About 15 years ago, my sister in law wanted to bring her father here from South Africa; however, immigration said "no, because he was acriskbto the Canadian health system". They couldnt even bring him over even with the promise to pay out of pocket for healthcare should it be needed. I find it utterly disgusting that as a born Canadian citizen I can't get a job, proper healthcare and live in a culture where immigrants (not all if them do this) thumb their noses at us. These immigrants, in my opinion, have NO intention of learning the english language either. I can't figure out why some of them even bothered coming to Canada because they haven't left their crap where they came from. It is no wonder Poland is the way they are about Immigration.

I am so happy people are starting to speak up. Sadly, I am changing. I am becoming angry. Angry at immigrants and the system. Am I becoming racist? Or just so lost at how things seem so wrong. My main upset is for my teen son. Turned 16 after Christmas. So excited about looking for a part-time job, earning some money, getting experiences and (unbeknownst to him ) expanding his social circle. This excitement came from me. LIke all us Canadians who remember our first part-time jobs (mine was at a McDonalds), I regaled my son in stories of that first part-time job. How much I learned from it, and the so many benefits it would have for me as I got older. He listened, and couldn't wait to turn 16. Also, like most parents, I raised him on the benefits of working hard in school, getting good grades, learning, getting involved, etc. Do these things son, and you will have a good future. He listened. Honours student all his life. Played on school teams. Performed in talent shows, Volunteered his time, etc., etc. Not a bad resume for a first time teen seeking a job. It is now heading into September. He has applied at all the traditional teen job hotspots, (all the fast food joints, grocery stores, drug stores, etc). Dozens of resumes, online and in-person applications. Not a single response. Then I walk into the local Burger King. Not a single Caucasian, Black, Hispanic, Indigenous, or Far Eastern employee. All East Indian (or Pakistani). Suddenly I am really noticing this trend everywhere, especially in the franchise fast food industry; especially upsetting when I even see it in a Harvey's (even more Canadian than Timmies). It's either East Indians or Arabs. I don't know for how long I have been hearing about diversity and fair hiring practices (which I have always supported); but to see this trend makes me furious. Are the owners of these franchise exempt from fair hiring practices? Are they not taught we are a diverse country? This is wrong. I want to finish with two sad situations which we should all be concerned about. When my eldest was looking for part-time work after the pandemic, he walked into a Mr. Submarine. He asked if he could leave his resume or fill out an application. The Arab cashier told him in broken English they were not hiring. As he was walking out, a young Arab man walked in. He approached the same cashier and asked for an application. She gave him one. WTF. My last comment, is the most concerning of all. My 16 year old, who works so hard at school, and at everything he does, recently commented, after yet another non-reply after handing out a slew of resumes, "Dad... what's the use of working so hard if I can't even get a job at McDonalds." I wonder how many other Canadian teens are feeling the same way. Not just white teens. Black, Hispanic, Indigenous and East Asian teens. Seems the broken English East Indian and Arab teens and young adults aren't asking themselves that. How long until my son thinks I am just spewing BS about this hard work thing? This is not about racism. This is about fair hiring practices, especially in more and more franchises; however, I do find myself listening to more and more of these videos, and find myself developing sucb negative feelings towards these two cultures. This is not Canadian. To be thinking this way, especially, is not Canadian. What do we do? Speak up, and we are racist. Stay quiet, and our teen kids move into adulthood without job experience, money put away, or just having a life experience that any of us over 30 (no matter our race) experienced. Something has to change; but I haven't a clue how to do that.

While increasing trade import and export with another country we already do business with, making them very happy in the process and still making huge savings in the process. When 80% and 60% of your exports and imports respectively. Consists of literally sharing its only common border with the united states would mean a complete scrap of the total infrastructure since they would hace then compensate through sea and air through the arctic and distances of 10x of what they are used to. Then it starts to make sense as to why trump wants Greenland. As a Brit... I've been to Canada many times (the first time as a soldier in 1981) and of late in the likes of BC, I've fished there. Love, love, love Canada and the Canadians. I've been to America too, and I love it there also. And while I'm not always a good judge of people...I flatter myself I'm a VERY good judge of character. The ONLY thing that is standing in the way of Trump are the Federel judges that actually understand the constitution and do not want to destroy this nation. The fly in the ointment? Courts can issue an order based on the constitution or our laws, but does not have any way to enforce them if Trump should just disregard their order. Unfortunately, i think that trump (he does not deserve un upercase) dreams of becoming like putin. All that he is doing, everything in his language and actions screams dictator. The war on drugs started with Nixon it isn't something you can win by closing the land borders, they will always find a way to get drugs to people that want to use them which includes setting up drug labs in America. I have never felt more proud to be a Canadian, it’s a good feeling, I was almost brought to tears earlier thinking about it. And it’s interesting to note that it is overriding the fear of the consequences of Donald’s actions. Here’s where I can’t help but think of you, our fellow North Americans. The good people of the USA, I hold you in my heart. For you don’t have that boost that comes from feeling proud of your country. I can’t say I’ve ever known what that is like. North Carolinian American here. I am ashamed of our country pushing our allies away. What I and many others want to let our allies know is that we support them. Our country is getting closer to isolationism, and it isn't good if we want inflation and prices to go down. History has shown us what happened to our country when we were isolated, and it brought economic devastation throughout the country. I hope that it isn't severe, but I predict that our president, and the Republican Party that controls the legislature and the Supreme Court will definitely cripple the economy, and will find a way to blame the party, where they are not in control.

As a Canadian, here's my biggest concern. The whole border thing was nothing more than a ruse. Trump has cozied up to Putin ... basically, he's Putin's poodle. He's tossed Ukraine to the wolves. (Though, I think Europe and Canada will increase their efforts to help Ukraine.) My fear is Trump will find some way to justify sending American troops into Canada to simply seize the resources he wants but is unwilling to trade for.

Spain and many Spaniards always support Canada and people know the history and the reality. The Russian government is an oligarchy that only benefits itself by impoverishing and robbing the people. A perverse system that condemns Russians to live in economic and intellectual misery. If you don't agree with Putin and his friends, you unfortunately disappear...Russia is an irrelevant country, which boasts about issues it does not have, and lives off a miserable past from which it inherited those nuclear warheads to have so much relevance. As a South African, I want to say that this trade war, as well as the hostile approach of Trump towards Canada, is devastating. If one were not experiencing it directly, it would be almost impossible to believe. This is such a remarkable speech that it will go down in history as one of the truly great speeches in times of crisis. It is entirely correct to address the American and Canadian peoples directly, as the Prime Minister has done. They are both clear victims of this madness, Americans misled, and Canadians the target, of this senseless trade war. If one reads History, there is another dimension to this, and I hate to say it. Canadians have to prepare themselves for worse. These types of antics by the aggressor usually involve, finger pointing, contrived border incidents, plausibly deniable incursions and other actions, by the aggressor, which one can find if the preludes to the WW1 and WW2 are studied. I am not sure if you have porcupines in Canada, but you need to rapidly become one.
