I agree with the these people's comments regarding the immigration issues. I've been Canadian for over 50 years and this is the worst I've seen or experienced here in this country. Why are we as major tax payers are forced to finance the lives of these people who are only here to take from us, not give back in any way for us who supported them coming in to feel it's been a good decision made by our government, from our pockets. They do also bring their war, stealing, lying, scamming with them, creating more division with us who were living peacefully before. There's so much more that I see and experience now, that makes me want to leave, and it shouldn't be me who leaves home for others who have no good intentions.

I'm a proud Canadian Immigrant of Indian origin. I came here to do specialized studies in Game Development. I took my time, and studied 6 years as an international student, paying 3x the tuition, sank $200,000 of hard earned money into the Canadian Education system — Not as a fast track gimmick to immigrate, but so I could achieve my dream as a Game Developer. This money was family income, earned on 1/4th the salary, taking 4x longer to save. I was a great privileged to me. Today 15 years later, no one would ever think I'm from India. I sound Canadian, I behave Canadian, I have Canadian values, and I am Canadian. I came here because I loved Canada. I would watch hours upon hours of indigenous history, and on my Citizenship day, I watched Juno Beach to celebrate. However I must say this... I suffered through s*icidal depression here for 8 years, because I had far less leverage here than in a developing country, and it's really telling what sort of situation we're all in... Rent caps in Canada were removed... The housing market was open to foreign investors / and real estate monopolies with a 20% year-on-year rise... Rents went from 1000$ to 2100$ MINIMUM for a 1 bedroom through Trudeau's term and the govt said "It's not a federal responsibility"... Auto insurance is like 2.5-3.5k a year in Ontario and if you get a dent, you pay a deductable... I was quoted 8500$ for two wisdom teeth surgeries while it costed me 260$ abroad... During Covid - property owners, banks, and grocery stores exploited our misery and made record profits!... The govt stopped filtering through it's immigrants with "interviews", and it's operating like a scam — "Bring all your foreign money, convert it to CAD, and keep our GDP stable.. while we neither have the infrastructure, nor the job market to support these numbers". I think some accountability is due... these issues are "symptoms", not the problem — The problem is our Liberal govt / policies, and our wonderful voting body who voted Liberal term after term after term while complaining. Why does this govt safeguard extremism, foreign politics, foreign separatism? Khalistanis are as much of a threat / nuance to India than it is to Canada, but in Canada they actually have a unrestricted platform. Instead of resenting immigrants, we need to start resenting how mismanaged Canada is by our govt, and hold our voting body accountable. We had a chance to vote differently, but once again a repackaged and rebranded Liberal term. Because my ethnicity is Indian, I've become an object of collective resentment / hatred, and I don't think that's fair.. Please direct it at your vote, and govt level policies. Why should I (and other's like me) be crucified with the sins of other immigrants? It's like hating all your neighbors in a burning building, when the management has been lighting the fire.

I'm sick of immigrants. I've had multiple scammed lotto tickets that won were taken & fed BS. Up to 147,000 & because it was a quick-pic lotto corp doesn't even look at signatures!? They walk in packs, the doctor's office, the whole family is there?WTF They own businesses, collect government income & hire family, so no taxes are being paid. You've got it wrong, super wealthy Western countries like Canada, the USA, UK, Scandinavian Nordic countries, Europe, and even Australia don't 'need' immigrants from 3rd/4th world countries. Super wealthy Western countries first priority is to its own native population and country first by investing in them. The new 180 stance on immigration is proof that these super wealthy Western countries are moving forward with stricter immigration policies, a push for increased mass deportation, eliminating Visa/Green Card Holders for certain groups, going after scam related to immigration, rescinding citizenship and deporting non-native populations a lot easier. It's not just Canadians who are sick and tired of all these new people(legal and illegal) but The West in general🇺🇸

Our laws about accepting refugees and asylum seekers need to get better. These new comers are changing Canadas as I write this. Our Canadian ways are being disregarded and disrespected. And allowing this new comers to dictate how they can live here. It’s not like what it was where we need to be qualified to live and immigrate to Canada. Now these new comers are trashing our parks, scamming good samaritans, scheming to get support from our government, and lastly, changing the demographics in Canada. Our laws need a better champion so the majority of good law abiding, good hearted, true Canadian citizens a better Canada. A Canada that allows good lawful immigrants to create a good future for their families. Adapting to our Canadian ways like , qualifying for work base on knowledge, skill, adaptability, acceptance, tolerance, and the heart to show love not on the base of the color of your skin, religion, nationality, gender, or creed. Canada is so much more and shouldn’t be changed by new comers that want to push their ways, beliefs, religion and agenda for their own benefit. No Canadian should be pushed to accept these new comers ways into our future.

India is known for scams and fraud. Call centre fraud, tech support fraud, CRA calls that are fraudulent, immigration fraud. It is part of their culture. Send them back. Is it not the individual's responsibility to ensure they are not submitting fraudulent documents. Pretending they don't know. How convenient.

It is not just the number of students, it is the quality of the students. Majority of these students are not top notch or the ones who will integrate well into society. Most of the schools accepting students in Canada and Australia are businesses run by former immigrants to these countries, who saw the business opportunity of charging people to give them admissions to low quality un-ecreditted schools, which they run themselves. Then in the midde of the school years they will push students to apply for immigration or refugee status. Everyone knows what the scam is but the governments are not addressing it. I am pro immigration but the systems have changed (broken) from what they used to be 20/30 years ago.

Whether a driving school, moving company or other business, they are well known to bypass regulations and swindle Canadians. Demanding overcharges at the time of delivery etc. If there is a scam running, they are involved. In about 2004 almost every Indian real estate agent in Alberta had their license pulled because they were proven to be involved in mortgage fraud on a massive scale. Not to mention we can no longer enjoy peace and quiet in our own homes without having some Indian calling us from India, trying to plant viruses on our computer, steal our life savings, or otherwise do as much damage to Canadians as they can. If there is a way to cheat the government or cheat on immigration, they will have their hand in it. I will not even talk to an Indian on the phone anymore - period! What a scam, first they say that English fluency is essential has introduced different Examination to assess the English fluency standard.. it is a big scam...while Canada has favoured immigrants from certain parts of the globe. In that case why did the Federal Governments of Canada created a delusion to migrants from around the globe stating that there is an acute labour shortage in certain high demanding job categories, encouraging all such applicants to apply through the Skilled labour Program introduced by the Federal Government of Canada,. as if there are shiploads of opportunities available just for geabs.\nSuch individuals are driven to state of utter despair or forced to get back to their home countries whereas here the federal Government of Canada is granting Asylum to all sorts of unskilled , uneducated and sometimes no literacy nor basic communication skills in English at all at the expense of the taxes and high tuition fees acquired from the student population as well as PR Holders who has incurred massive expenditure through the federal Government's detailed and tough assessment procedures just to gain entry under the stipulated visa categories. Most of fake schools which issued admission letters were side hustles of Liberal Sikh MPs who go their share from school fees. The students also knew they were going to fake schools. Most submitted fake financial statements and also bribed Canadian embassy staff in India. It was Canada’s biggest immigration scam of the history.

I'm an immigrant who came here with my family on a sponsorship program in 2008. Never got in trouble, worked two jobs and busted our asses off to get the citizenship in 2014. What has happened to Canada under Trudeau's incompetent government with his mass immigration policies and taking in low-class South Asians who do nothing but scam their way to the top is nothing but a tragedy. Canadian-born citizens are waking up and hate is brewing against Indians and Muslims.

Thank you for summarizing these key changes! Many problems are actually the Canadian immigration system not learning from the mistakes of the US system and now it’s suffering the same consequences. If Canada cuts down on those selected immigrations but still takes in refugees, it’s only going to make anti-immigrant sentiment worse. Selected immigrants are allowed into Canada to help alleviate Canadian issues…or at least people who come through Express Entry are less likely to become a burden. On the other hand, refugees, given their unfortunate circumstances, really need to rely on a lot of social services and resources to help them resettle. The US has eliminated pretty much all non-humanitarian immigration that’s why immigrants are so demonized there. Americans only feel the drags of refugees and asylum seekers (even though ethically we need to protect them) and there is no selected immigration to balance that out. Yet this round of Canadian policy change is heading exactly that direction.\n\nIt used to be international students in Canada are not paying a lot more tuition than Canadian students. But Canadian universities saw how much money universities in the US are making so they asked the federal government to change the policy to enable them to charge international students several times the regular tuition (whereas in countries like France, international students actually pay less than citizens). So now Canadian universities rely too much on international students to operate and it becomes an exploitative relationship even before students step foot on the campus. The new PGWP eligibility is awful because students can make contributions in every field. It might (and that's a big if) address the pressing problems, but it won't help Canada grow.\n\nI thought the new language requirement was interesting. Some Canadians who immigrated decades ago when the bar was really low still speak English poorly and now they are saying people can’t come to Canada because their language skills are not sufficient. Another point about language is if you apply through Express Entry now, even if you scored the highest language score, given how competitive the pool is, you still won’t get selected. So it’s a given that you need to be fluent in one of the languages at least to get an invitation. Express Entry also selects only the top people, I saw the head of The Institute for Canadian Citizenship in interviews talking about those top-tier people only expect the best treatment/lifestyle when they come to Canada. That's why many of them leave after seeing these Canadian problems play out. But I believe a good Canadian life is not about living in a high rise in Vancouver and Toronto, driving an expensive car, or buying luxury items...it's about the communities, nature and middle-class comfort. So the system is giving PRs to the wrong kind of people (just like mismatched people when hiring that don't align with company values).\n\nThis brings me to the last frustrating issue. There were so many people who attended “fake” universities and bought “fake” jobs to earn points to get an Express Entry invitation. And it's clear that the government wasn't proactively catching these abuses. They are taking up spots from those who try to earn the points fair and square. If I understand correctly, Canada doesn’t send these people away if they are found out (since some of them were scammed). So they still take up immigration quotas.\n\nI have wanted to move to Canada for a long time. I have visited Canada many times, hiking trails through the coastline and fjords, climbing mountains and glaciers. I lived in Montreal for two months to improve my French and I was told by my homestay family that I was the first student they had who didn’t complain about the cold (I wish the winter never ends so I can skate or xc ski in the parks year-round). I have probably seen more Canada than many Canadians and I love every bit of it. But the opportunity for me to even get a shot to move there is pretty much nonexistent now. I am an Indian, came here for ML research. Was unpleasantly surprised to witness so many unskilled Indians ruining the country. Uneducated, can't speak English, rude, unkempt. Like I love my country but I also love the country I immigrated to. I know tons of Indian friends like me who feel the same way. We all feel like we scammed ourselves into coming here. Every doordash and uber guy in Toronto is an Indian guy, who probably came here through a diploma mill. Why did Canada let this happen? Weirdly enough, even now, it's easier to get into Canada as a Khalistani terrorist or an LMIA abuser with a fake IELTS score and fake college admission letter than honest Indians who come here for higher education at good schools. Anyone reading this and from India, just go to the US man. At least despite the H1B lottery they respect your time more than Canada and you earn way more in 2-3 years than you would here in 6 years.\n\nPs : I singled out Indians since I am one but Palestinian refugees with their never ending incessant virtue signalling marches, Ukrainians with their virtue signalling marches and destruction of property, middle eastern refugees etc are all part of the problem.
