Now that she was able to become a citizen, rather than helping her family members to get their legal status, which can be difficult, tedious and very expensive, she could care less if the lives they have already spent decades on building here are completely destroyed. I have seen some people spend not only years waiting on a hearing or a determination, but spend thousands they scrape together on lawyers and obtaining records, while others submit minimal evidence and get a determination in weeks. Instead of admitting that there are problems with the system and vote for people who are actually trying to help, she wants the same system that made it a difficult process for her to stay the same for them. In fact she voted for someone who is going to make it harder if not impossible for them to come back the right way in the first place. Is she not thinking? If they get deported, that is going into immigration records and when that gets pulled up when they apply to come back it will likely cause any legally efforts to return to be rejected. And who knows how long that will stay in their system? Could be years, could be permanent. Biden’s idea to help those undocumented who are married to citizens to be able to apply and get a temporary visa to stay here while they wait so that families wouldn’t have to be broken up by having the applicant return to their country of origin. That was not just a great idea from a humanitarian point, but they could apply for a job that wasn’t going to take advantage of them by paying below minimum wage, with no rights if they are injured. That could help bring local wages up. They would start contributing back by paying their fair share of taxes, and do on. Apart from the huge deportation project being inhumane and fascist, why is nobody even mentioning the political prerequisite of readmission agreements? You cannot just dump thousands of migrants back on the countries they came from, especially if these are countries that are classed as dangerous and unlivable. Generally they do NOT take them back and even if there is a readmission agreement they will invoke other reasons not to admit them. Immigrants or refugees can also lawyer up and show that they will face prison, torture , persecution, war or starvation in their country of origin which makes it a human rights offence to deport them. Most immigrants can never be returned and would rather die or abscond than to return as a failed emigrant or be imprisoned, tortured, persecuted, die fighting or of starvation.

Why do Indians prefer to live anywhere but India. If you think about it…it’s really sad. Imagine not wanting to live in or contribute to your own country. I’m referring to the talented immigrants. I am an immigrant essentially - finally got my PR after 3 years in 2012 (on a skilled worker application - IT Systems Manager), 10k in lawyers fees - I took exams to prove I can write read and speak English - I maintained a decent level of fitness to pass my medical (cost more money in gym memberships) (I was born and bred in the UK and privately educated there) I bought a house before I was a PR - I had to jump through hoops and I played by the rules to get my PR (I am now a citizen) - I do not understand how these people think that they can just demand what I had to work so very hard to achieve...?

Conviently there are 'immigration lawyers' offices right next door. There are reports that 'students' are recruited in certain South Asian countries, put into debt to the tune of $180,000 with the promise of being able to get residency and eventually citizenship. They are then put to work, in local businesses to work off this debt.
