Well said. I love the USA, I have relatives who live there and in all the years of a beautiful relationship with the people of America I have never seen this situation. Mr. Trump you seem to want to conquer and divide relationships at any cost, even with people who care about you. You sabotage yourself and those who are loyal to you. I'm not sure if you understand the implications of your decisions. But I will say respectfully, there are no winners in a trade war, nor is it you that has the final say on the worlds outcome. This is God's world not yours and not ours. I'm really disappointed to see American people and Canadians hurting because of whatever the point of all of this means. But Canada is strong and we will stand up for our country. The American people are strong and they were strong before you became the President. Working together, we can take care of each other for our families and our country.

As a Minnesotan, I feel as if I’m almost as Canadian as American and proud to say so. Our present sitting president and buffoon unelected sidekick Musk are creating chaos everywhere for the sake of billionaire donors and supporters. Absolutely none of what Trump/Musk has done and plans to continue to do is beneficial to a single non-wealthy American and these actions will harm his personal voters (of which I’ve never been one!) the most. Trump cares not. Pervasive narcissistic sociopathy is not curable! Stand strong Canada! We’re trying mightily to defeat this insanity here in the USA! 74 million people did not vote for any of this harm and destruction and outright cruelty!

This situation is far worse for Canada than for the U.S. Trudeau knows this. History is being made. It’s truly unbelievable how gullible people can be, and I’m not saying this to be cruel, this is just the straight truth. Justin Trudeau is a proven liar and an opportunist, plain and simple. Time and time again, he’s shown that he’ll say whatever fits his agenda, no matter how dishonest or manipulative. He’s openly embraced and pushed harmful, nonsensical ideologies, including radical transgender policies aimed at children. Without question, he’s been the most damaging Prime Minister in Canadian history. Under his leadership, Canada isn’t just struggling, it’s circling the drain. That speech everyone’s praising — he didn’t even write it. It’s all just another performance, another chance to prop up his fake image. The truth is, Trudeau has done far more harm to this country than good, and that’s the reality whether people want to admit it or not.\n\nAnd for all the Trump haters out there, it’s incredible, actually baffling, how nobody seems to be talking about the billions and billions of taxpayer dollars that have been completely wasted — just vanished into thin air. You don’t hear a word about that. It’s unbelievable. Meanwhile, America’s borders were secure under Trump, but you never hear about that either. And let’s not forget, men weren’t allowed to compete against women in sports, which should be common sense, but somehow even that’s controversial now. The silence on all of it is staggering. It’s absolute insanity.

I really believe that it just comes down to Trump feeling resentment that he will never be part of a perceived 'inner circle' of establishment world leaders. It's probably over that one time when they were caught on a hot mic dissing him with Trudeau kind of leading the pack. Over the years Trump has shown over and over again that he is that petty and all of his decisions have an absolutely childish basis, yet the American people voted him in a second time. I've run out of patience with the American people too. They're not really doing anything about this except saying online that they support Canada just so they can feel a little better about themselves. The first thing she says is how Trudeau spoke of how it’s going to be hard on Canada and then stuttered about it being hard for Americans. But she FAILED to mention that Canada has vowed to be there and make amends for its citizens unlike America whose government has hung its citizens out to dry. CNN also failed to mention ton that Trump signed the current trade agreement when he was president for his first term. Never thought I would see the day CNN would skirt the issue trying their damndest not to use the words the rest of the world is saying and that’s “What the fuck Donald?” Shame on you CNN. As an American, we don’t want this either. I don’t understand what and why to be honest. All I know was in November 2024 I woke up to the worst feeling I have ever had. First time woke up ashamed and shame and fear to live in the United States. I never in my 60 years thought that hatred hiding behind Christianity would prevail. As an American at the last years of my life I want to say to Canada, Mexico , Puerto Rico, Ukraine and all our European allies, I am sorry we let you down.

Canada (and many other countries) spent decades supporting the maintenance of US hegemony. Look what it got us? To a position where we're pretty much greatly dependent on, and at the mercy of the US. We need to invest more in our own country and make our own products. We should also trade with other countries regardless of what the US thinks of those countries. Trump wants Canada to put tariffs on China in the attempt to further impede that country's economic growth so the US will remain the economic hegemony. The speech of Mr Trudeau, the way Canadians have shown solidarity for one another, today it all puts my country, The US, to shame. I am ashamed of what my government is doing and I am disgusted with the people doing it. In Mr Trump’s first term, as eclipsed as they were by the many many many actions and attitudes he imposed on us that embarrassed and hurt us as a country, there was the rare occasional decision I could at least understand even if I did not support it. Since taking office literally not one thing he has done has made sense to me as an American. I can only say how sorry I am for what the country I love is being used to do to you all, especially our closest allies and friends and in particular the people of Canada today. I grew up in Commerce Twp Michigan. I visited Canada regularly and, even as crime from Detroit poured across the border into Canada, Canadians always treated us with respect and welcome. I never imagined that would stop but now I find it hard to imagine how it might continue and it breaks my heart.

It’s heartening that so many nations have solicited Canada, offering alternative sources for common US exports to Canada —citrus fruits, pharmaceuticals, and other manufactures, to name a few.\n\nI don’t think Canadians even realize how big this unofficial boycott is getting because it’s growing so fast. I’ve never seen a surge in Canadian patriotism like this. Never in my seven decades —which includes the two Referenda on Quebec separation. And there’s a federal election approaching when all partisans will be one-upping each other in the patriotism department—which manifests in more boycotts of US goods and hospitality services.\n\n Americans should know that the unofficial boycott is more harmful to US exporters than the official targeted countervails because it features immediate and longterm diminishment of Canadian purchases of US goods—all retailers know it’s very hard to recover lost customers once they’ve found alternatives (and the added patriotic effect only makes it worse). Included is diminishment of Canadian visits to the USA. Indeed, the internet is replete with testimonies of Canadian”snow birds” not only forgoing their annual sojourn in the Florida or Arizona sunshine but also of selling their properties there with the parting shot, “I will never vacation in the US again!” Already Mexico has seen its visits from Canadians (who have had a modest presence in Mexico for years) surge to unprecedented levels. I know from much-welcomed temp Mexican construction workers in BC (where I live) that they view Canadians completely differently from our mutual US neighbours—and now that affection is growing like never before. \n\nI’m continually amazed at how uninformed Americans are about tariffs—and misinformed by tRump and his goofy, preposterous, and ridiculous fantasy of world-domination. When tRump uses the lame excuse to implement emergency powers —that Canada is “allowing” (as Vance puts it) fentanyl to “pour into the USA”—it’s tantamount to saying Ukraine started the war with Russia. The reason for this 'trade war' is not about 'trade'. It's about 'creating chaos' so that president Trump is the 'centre' of world attention. A malignant naracistic individual apparently cannot have anyone seemingly to be 'doing better' or being more successful than he is. Canada ?? is a very successful nation and because of its economic success it is creating envy and apparently hatred in certain individuals who view the success of Canada ?? as a threat to themselves. As a US citizen, I apologize on behalf of this corrupt administration. I certainly didn't vote for the ??, and I'm not sure how anyone could have... yet, here we are. Donald Trump claims to be a Christian but what he is doing to other countries and his own country by firing people from government jobs is totally against God God gives life he don't take it and he would never have sent people to the streets just because some politicians created a job for the people this is going to cause people to lose their homes vehicles and their livelihood it is totally evil. They didn't do it to the people that lost their jobs they did it to God Almighty who loves all people and wants them to have their wages. All joking aside, Canada has been able to form a symbiotic relationship of mutual benefit with the United States since even before NAFTA 1. But.......... right now it is almost like a 51st state and I do not mean that in a joking way. US states are always competing with each other, but what prevents things like, oh say the American Civil war from happening is the Federal apparatus keeps them in line for the good of the empire as a whole. \n\n If Canada is like a 51st state, then it is competing with the other 50 states in a way that all 50 of them are going to get upset about. So either the states complain, or you treat Canada as an economic competitor. Mexico being behind the United States and Canada is what makes it a good candidate for a symbiotic relationship. For all its problems, Mexico has a Christian population (with some indigenous traits) that goes well with America. Their nations different economic status means we can support them and they can support us doing different things for countries of different development stages.\n\nCanada being so similar to the United States will want that as well and will never outbid the United States. Again this is seen as a hostile economic competitor. \n\nIts not Canada or Americas fault. After 2007 and the lies about fanny and Freddie, leman bros, mortgage backed security's, and a cash shortage that was not real. How was it real if the offshore exchanges did nothing? 2007 was not financial in origin it was our global monetary system seizing up. I recently watched a You Tube video from a couple, who had never been in Canada, it was quite amazing, think it was called something Southern or so. one of the main things, the gentleman was looking for is they had travelled from the west trough Toronto to the East and threw their arms up, saying, where are all the police, they had only seen 1 cop car in the city on their visit. secondly, he was dissappointed he could see where the hoods were, he wanted to see the Crackheads. (we dont have hoods like they do in the US)., another thing was he was sad because he couldnt find any Moose while they were driving from Niagara Falls to Toronto. The people leaving Canada are older, and they have money. The ones coming are poor and compete with other poor immigrants that can't afford to leave. When I came to Canada with my parents they had to be skilled and bring with them the minimum of $10.000.00. Today the door is open everyone comes to visit finds a job that hire illegal migrants, and never leave. The company saves and no one pays taxes. The government is corrupt. Immigration, Unions even most police officers are corrupt to the core with DEI hiring Canada is in a crisis to say the least.

I am of Indian heritage and from what I am seeing around the world its disgusting how Indians are behaving, its made me ashamed of having that heritage and its not just in Canada, they are destroying the reputation for all Indians, and you can't just say its only a small percentage. I was born and raised in England in the 60's, we respected the culture, and country we were in, and would never see this kind of behavior that we are seeing today. Indians were known for being quiet, and respectful, and especially never loud like the way they are today, this blame I put on India itself for not maintaining its culture and respect around the world, this is shameful to see I don't blame other cultures for this mess, this is why Indians are being rejected around the world, its not a coincident.
