I have spent quite a bit of time in USA and I always find my experience split. For the most part the people and places are great. As a filmmaker I have shot in NYC, California, Mississippi to name a few. The people were always accommodating and friendly. One time a gentlemen and his wife that allowed us to film in his property would bring us hot chocolate at night, then offered to shoot anyone who got in our way. I was also filming in the desert in 2009 and I almost got shot in the face by a group of police officers that charged in guns out and tempers raging, before realizing that we had film permits and were scheduled to be on site. Only to have the crew say that if I was black they would have shot first and asked questions later. One time, I went on 1 day business trip to Canada ( i have American Citizenship, but born in Europe). I was injured at work and was taken to the hospital were work paid the hospital bill but when the nurse said go to the drugstore and buy a bandage they will be cheaper then if I put one on you. Our Universities are heavily subsidized and Nurses and Doctors take advantage of this, If Trudeau/Pierre wants to stop our doctors and nurses who graduate going to the USA right after school, They should make them pay back the portion of their education that the taxpayers paid for and never received any healthcare from, It should be you have to work in Canada after graduating for 5 years before moving out of Canada, and if they do, then they pay around $150,000 to break the contract compounded with interest from when they started and finished university/college. I know someone who graduated Nursing in the 1990's, She went to a convention in Toronto, Where she was quickly swayed to move the USA, Its because Nursing here is a 3yr course in the USA its a 6 month course, they aren't educated nearly as much as Canadians, A Canadian nurse can be a GP in rural areas of the USA, Also the Nurse I know within a year was made head nurse of her ward, Bypassing USA Nurses that have been working at the hospital for 10+ years, due to the extra education, This is a big problem, we are educating Nurses and Doctors for the USA and other Nations funded by Taxpayers, Sure Nurses and Doctors do also pay some, but its closer to 1/3 of the actual cost, the other 2/3rd's is taxpayer funded. It's Not enough and this was Not Fair! We came here in this country and vetted for 6 years by Immigration and all proper education requirements met. My mom worked so hard to be able to come into this Country when I was 14yrs old, there were Rules and Criteria. Now, it's all a Joke. People can come into Canada without proper oversight and Money works. As long as you have huge sums to pay, they let you in, easily, 3months you get Permanent Resident status, we worked hard for 6 years, even doesn't matter if you're a criminal from back home, they let you in, as long as you have money.
