it;s such a shame, i was in vancouver, bc for 1 month from sydney, australia and honestly the country and city is really so nice, i would love to move there but i really learnt quick that vancouver and my home city of sydney are twins with the economic downfall and cost of living crisis, also heavily taxed, and proof is on the pudding now with sydney and vancouver being direct 2nd and 3rd most unaffordable and expensive cities on the planet right now as we speak in 2024, such a shame

I lived in TO for 20 years. Didn’t like the climate much and was looking to move somewhere south but not to the States. Ended up in Merida, Yucatan, purchased lovely furnished colonial house with the pool, former AirBnB, 1km away from the main cathedral. No need for a car. Paid little 6 years ago for the $$ most people can’t afford to renovate their kitchens in TO. Monthly bills are $140 CAD including all the services, property tax, excellent internet, electricity and yes we use AC when sizzling hot outside. The best of all there are some direct flights to TO and we do visit in summers exclusively ?. Overall ….we are born again, the best decision ever. Still love TO but too pricey for us as we need more than $140 daily for survival!

I think this practising Muslim couple is doing the right thing because if you are a Muslim who believe in Islamic way of life, then you should move to a country who is a majority Muslim country. Western liberal countries are liberal western democracies whose values directly in contrast to Islamic conservative values. So I think this couple should move to an Islamic country and encourage other practicing Muslims to do the same. If you are in Rome, act like the Romans. So if you are in the western liberal democracies, you should love their values and embrace them, instead of trying to push your values there. They are doing the right thing and other Muslims should also do the same.

My parents on the other hand, desperately want to move to US and I keep telling them life there is not easy and the biggest hurdle is freedom to practice deen, but they can't seem to understand that. And also, why would I move to a country where my tax payer money goes into directly funding the genocide of my brothers and sisters. I am so proud of you guys for bringing up these points and making a conscious decision. The only place apart from Pakistan I would truly love to live in is Madina. Like being walking distance from our Prophet Muhammad SAW is a DREAMMM. I wish you both the best of wishes and I pray to Allah that you guys find the best place to live in In Shaa Allah. If you know the Islamic doctrine and the real situation within Gaza, there every Gazan family belongs to one of the various Islamic terrorist parties or at least they support the Islamic (jihad) war against what they call the infidels, so they are A PLAGUE of hatred, destruction and death for anyone who says welcome to my house, proof that many of these pro-terrorist protesters are going to protest violently is clear when they act just like any criminal when they are going to commit a crime and cover their faces to that no one recognizes them, and when they bark, defecating from their mouths with hysterical cries of the blindest ante-Semitic hatred, Allahu Akbar, or free Palestine from the river to the sea, they are declaring, first of all, that they are at war, which turns them into an invading force. of Islam within England, and secondly, they are declaring in the sight and patience of the all-complacent English authorities the extermination of the entire Jewish race, and it is precisely the kind ignorance and irresponsibility in the face of this growing danger on the part of the English government that which is why Islam, one day not too distant, will bring England to its knees, or at the very least will make it cry blood.

Food prices are a hot topic right now. Interestingly, I was in Fort Myers Florida recently shopping at Publix and I was astonished by the high food prices versus stores around Toronto. 1.5L of Tropicana orange juice was $7.99 USD compared to $5.99 CAD, green/red peppers were much more expensive. Cereals, bread, potatoes, meats…. everything I found was consistently more expensive in USD versus CAD. Once you factor in the exchange rate it was just that much more painful. Perhaps Fort Myers is unique in this respect, or maybe it was a Publix issue, but I was happy to come home to much more reasonable food prices. \n\nWe definitely have our issues in Canada, but I love Canada. Our lakes, wilderness, and wildlife are truly majestic. We have virtually unlimited freedom to explore and roam this beautiful land. As one comment stated wisely, too many people live beyond their means and make unwise purchase decisions that create stress. Having said that, I realize that wealth and income inequality have never been worse, and many people face very difficult daily struggles. I do think Canada offers a better social safety net structure vs US to help people through those struggles, but we are definitely heading in the wrong direction in that respect. These are complex issues that are difficult to solve.

Now you understand Why BJP is not that interested in Punjab due to these all problems.. because if something wrong happens then opposition directly blame BJP Govt.. instead they give away that to AAP which is not at all qualify for managing a state.. they introduce free schemes to win election but not for develop a state.. I suggest BJP should take matter in to their hand and show some courage to deal with this, after all Punjab is part of Bharat... also there are always good people and bad people.. we always hear bravery and sacrifice done by punjabi and Sikh people but some negative people in community ruined that image.. love and respect to hard working Sikh community and hope for the peace and respect to them...

The worst part of the US is the public transport by far. Like you said, except for NYC, there is just no way. I was staying in a city north of Pittsburgh by 40 minutes and there was no direct bus to either the city or even the airport just 20 minutes away! By buses, it would have taken 3 hours. When I did take the excellent 28X bus from the airport into the city, no one was on it except for 3 other tourists and that was a great bus, passed through the whole city. LA was ok, but no one in richer areas takes public transportation. Chicago was passable. AND yes, Preach, I ALWAYS get sick from food in the States. Even the same thing at the grocery store tastes different. So salty and Yellow No.5 is still a thing. BUT I love Trader Joes LOL

I moved from Ireland to Calgary Alberta in June 2015 with a hope of living there permanently. I became poorer there…I kept hearing the voice of God telling me to go back to Ireland. June 2016, I came back to Ireland and am grateful to Jesus for directing my steps. I love Ireland and it’s been 6years I left Canada and I don’t wish to go back to.

Taxes are meant to run the country's affaires but people are just mean. You love it when you are broke and are able to benefit free services from the government but when you start making some money and are asked to contribute so that the country can keep up with all it's programs you start complaining. Come back to Africa, there is always a trade-off. No good service and less taxes. Just keep in mind that Africa not developing is our choice otherwise the cost of development is that, in a way ( higher taxes and government's direct control over people's affaires). I thank God anyway that you people can complain of better living condition but I would rather get busy working hard in Canada than not finding a decent job in Africa or bare the cold whether than sleeping hungry in Africa. While not staying that you would be in the worst conditions in Africa, I want you appreciate what you have and remember one truth, so many people in Africa would wish to be in your position. Anyway, you are welcome home. There's still a place for you all. Come help us change our continent for the better.

Legitimate question. I have a friend who is passionate about moving to Toronto. Through various friends, I myself have grown to Love Canadian culture and passion, though my heart is in the US. She, however, is an actress, an entertainer down in Florida. Incredibly valuable and weighted in it's own right, but, if she were to move to Toronto, what challenges might she endure once fully integrating legally for the job direction she seeks?

They love to hate others and yet cannot even love themselves .  The direct link to this cause  is what they feed their minds on . Look at their countries ! They have as much room or more to live on and in  and  they choose to live in Poverty and IGNORANCE !?  Were these the great peoples of the Book that we studied about in school ?  Where is the rational mind ? where is the creative and productive soul who has created some thing to be of a benefit to their families or friends or neighbors ?
