In about 2004 almost every Indian real estate agent in Alberta had their license pulled because they were proven to be involved in mortgage fraud on a massive scale. Not to mention we can no longer enjoy peace and quiet in our own homes without having some Indian calling us from India, trying to plant viruses on our computer, steal our life savings, or otherwise do as much damage to Canadians as they can. If there is a way to cheat the government or cheat on immigration, they will have their hand in it. I will not even talk to an Indian on the phone anymore - period! As a general rule, Canadians have learned that they can't be trusted.

Low skill and low wage might have been ok when costs were low - low food prices, low energy prices, low housing and rental costs, etc. Now that everything is incredibly expensive, Canada is stuck between a rock and a hard place. Either wages will go up (which have been fairly stagnant for the last 30-40 years) so that it goes above and beyond inflation, OR you will not be able to bring in low skill, low wage labor. Simply put, when rents are $3000 a month in Toronto, minimum wage of $15/hr is $2500/mth (before taxes). Add another $1000/mth for food, and $500/mth for other expeditures - and you can see that just to survive - a person in Toronto needs a minimum of $4500/mth to not be on the streets. And this is IFF they are not married and have kids which can easily drive expenses to $6000/mth\n\nSo... for someone to just live normally, they need a bare minimum of $30/hr for 2000hr/year - this is a salary of $60K before taxes!\n\nBut the median income in Canada is 35K to 40K (it's on your tax return which determines if you get extra help from the government).\n\nSo... with these prices - you will never get low wage workers here... period. You can't expect immigrants to work as slaves and then pull your country out of the mess you created by spending money on useless programs like a drunken sailor.\n\nCut costs, cut taxes, cut inflation (stop printing money), cut useless programs (ala DOGE in the US), allow housing to crash, diversify your economy, invest in start ups and entrepreneurs, increase salaries, scrap the carbon tax, etc. Notice - none of these have anything to do with immigration.

Canada wants immigrants so they can pay them cheap for meanial jobs that nobody wants to do. Period. All your efforts spent getting a degree in something will be worth nothing here. Period. Even if you consider yourself super smart with an IQ above average and think you can defy the system, think better: yes you can go to school here and get your degree recognized, but is gonna take a lot of time and money, you'll probably have to work two jobs under shitty weather and pay the rent for an apartment not bigger than a shoebox, not to mention the college fees. Is it worth it? After 15 years spent here first as an immigrant and now as a citizen, I still have to understand what makes Canada so appealing to people. But then I came from Europe, where life is easy and relaxed, so I guess my point of view is biased.

The days they (hk pathway people)contributed in Canada are very short, and the benefits they receive are far greater than the taxes and contributions they pay. The locals just feel that the benefits they enjoy today are indeed the contributions they have made to society (including paying taxes) over the years. It is reasonable to get a reward for how much they have paid and contributed, but it is unfair for those Hk pathway people to enjoy the same benefits as locals. \n\nThe hk pathway temporarily policy need to be amended. See, I know this is wrong. But we have to be honest I am an Indian but moved to America. I stayed in New Jersey and the environment we created there is absurd. We made the place dirty, uncivilized behaviour and the list is long. This is happening in Canada too. Canadians identify everyone as Indians but the major problem they have is with Khalistanis. They have become a menace, gun violence, crimes and a shit ton of things done by these people. There is always a reaction and it is unfortunate that the innocent ones has to face the reaction. My experience girlfriend was Canadian, her mother owned a departmental store she caught and called cops on many occasions were our peyare caught on camera stealing, damaging the store and also peeing right in the corner of the store. I saw all these footage. The major problem with Canada is most of the Indian immigrants that went there were uneducated and directly went to Canada from Indian villages, it's a cultural shock for them and during the initial period everyone behaved in a uncivilized manner. interesting I live in the US, and we have the same problems here homelessness, drug overdoses, and high taxes, some states have higher taxes than others, home prices are skyrocketing, and no new homes are being built. no new low-income housing. After the COVID outbreak, II quit my job and traveled all around the world, including 1yr staying in Toronto. During that period, I experienced firsthand the inflation and social challenges Canada was facing. After much thought, I came to the same realization as you—I need to leave my home country. Ironically, I’m about to move to the very place you're leaving.???I admire your courage in embracing this new challenge and hope you find a place you'll truly love. I’d like to share a humble opinion I’ve thought during my travels and followed news from everywhere. The surging housing price, cost of living, homelessness, social unrest, and immigration concerns are global issues, particularly in so-called developed countries. I believe these aren't just problems unique to Canada but part of a wider systemic issue. Every society is attempting to tackle these problems in its own way. There's no perfect haven, so it’s crucial to consider whether a society's approach to solving these issues aligns with your own values. The immigration file has been completely botched and mishandled by an inept and very stupid government. Mass immigration without a plan for increased housing, medical staff, infrastructure help, or even increased staff at immigration centres, etc. is madness, and chaos has ensued. I studied in India for several years, and was careful to respect Indian culture vis a vis dress codes, learning Hindi, and behaviour. It is only normal courtesy to do so. It becomes more difficult when numbers increase drastically over a v. short period of time since people coming here are not widely exposed to Canadian culture. This completely inept and corrupt government needs to go: like yesterday. I think of myself as anti-racist, but when I go for a medical test and see that 95% of patients appear to be of middle-eastern origin, while I haven't been able to find a family doctor for 10 years, I do get a little irritated. And I'm a boomer; younger people in Canada are competing for education, jobs, housing, as well as medical care, so I can understand people becoming angry. I think that currently this backlash is against the government, not immigrants, and not one community in particular. I am cynical enough to think that this government went for mass immigration because they have no economic plan for prosperity, and bringing in several millions would raise GDP. But percapita GNP has been falling for 8 quarters, so we are definitely in a recession. I think Trudeau did this so his economic incompetence would not be obvious. Anyway, that's my appeal: we should be upset at a government that caused this chaos, not at individual immigrants nor a specific community.
