When moving to Canada, you also need to adapt yourself and change your habits. I'm an immigrant myself and I dislike when other immigrants compare everything to their life before, they live in the past and try to export their old life in Canada. Big mistake

If anyone wants to move or visit montreal, you can very well make it without speaking french. The very vast majority of montreal speaks english as their second language. However, I still strongly recommend you learn at least a bit of french as the further you get from montreal, the less english speakers you will encounter (this can be as low as 30km away). Also, even if people do speak english as their second language, no one likes to get forced to adapt their speaking to someone who doesn't even try to make an effort to speak in the local language. So it is best if you learn at least the basics like: Hello -> Salut; Do you speak english? -> Parlez-vous anglais?; I don't speak french -> Je ne parle pas français;... And other basic sentences you would expect to say. More likely than not people will still switch to english if you know nothing in french, but usually people are more than happy if you try to speak their language and it makes for a more enjoyable experience all around.

Try to live in a THIRD WORLD COUNTRY and then try to complain! Just be thankful and grateful to God for the opportunities you're experiencing. Not everybody is given this chance. Those people who are leaving Canada do not know how to ADAPT, and hopefully when these people opt to leave Canada they will NEVER COME BACK and DENOUNCE their Canadian citizenship or Permanent Residence so that they will no longer be a BURDEN to the Government of Canada.

Most racist type of people are Punjabis. They have no regard to other people, they don’t speak English and expect people to speak in Punjabi. They have zero respect for local customs and any place they immigrate to they try to write and speak in Punjabi and don’t adapt. The racism even flows down to their kids who look down upon others and don’t treat non punjabi kids with respect.

Canada is a country of immigrants, which means people who are, in my humble opinion, mostly quite self-centered and expecting the world from others, which never happens! Canada demands a gigantic capacity to adapt, to adjust and, in a word, to change...completely! You must be totally willing to leave everything behind if you want to integrate into Canadian society and this is extremely hard to do! Moreover, most immigrants come to Canada because they expect that country to give them a life of luxury or at least a very easy life, which can be true, as compared to certain other countries where life can be hell because of corruption, poverty or mismanagement and dictatorship. Now, don't fool yourself, you will find all of this in Canada too, in a very different way, although not always that different, but you will find it to a certain extent, depending on what you are trying to do here! Canada pretends to be a free and democratic country, but if there is one thing, that you are not supposed to do in Canada without dire consequences and reactions from most Canadians, it is criticism and voicing dissent! You will face repression too! I am 67 and I have lived in this country for over 30 years and now have lots of health problems, which I would probably never have had in another country, all this because of the frigging climate here...I just hate it here! And yes, don't be cultured and...play stupid and ignorant, otherwise you will face automatic rejection and that same stupidity and ignorance! A country of many cultures...yes, but also of deep rooted prejudices and intolerance! And if there is something that never changes in Canada, it is change! They expect you to change, but they never change themselves! in a word...Canada is a country like all others, no better and often far worse!

If her point will be counted then I'm getting 69/100 ( 5 points for adaptability) Then there will be more chances to get invitation from Alberta.\n\nWhere n when i have to show these 69/100 ( if I get) points in the whole process???\n\nKindly elaborate this. Their head dress and berkas are drawing attention to these people because of their cultures and what it means to women. These things put people in bondage and seem very threatening. They are forced to ware them in their own country’s and they come here and some are demanding that our culture should adapt. Especially in Europe.These people represent problems etc.. I am scared of these people. I’m free. I don’t want to bow to their God or their culture. Like I said try this test in their own country’s. I have no problem with blacks or aboriginal people. I realize there are radicals too. The Muslim people try to show a superior attitude and think they are right and want to force their culture on other countries. I don’t trust any of them.

what we need is an enlightment movement with islam where the individual determines whats best for themselves rather than these literal interpretations. In the U.S. at my school many of the 3rd generation muslim kids my age are becoming integrated. Girls wear hats that conceal their hair and long sleeves that fit within their religions dress code instead of the burka and young men are very open to other people ideas such as alchohol use. The problem is when families control their children, as in any case really, and are less than open to change. As a son of an immigrant the most important step with integration is the elimination of your cultural identity, you leave your values in your own country because you are no longer in an enviorment where your opinion matters or is relevant. If muslims could adjust/conform their rules to fit the conscripts of western civilization everything would be dandy. Adapt to fit the society that you move into, dont try to reform society to better suit yourself expecially when your a foriegner.

Any imigrant who lives in Britain should respect british culture and way of life and try to adapt or leave period. Im hungarian and i plan to live a couple of years in Britain cuz i love your country and the people are friendly and love to drink and have fun like me:D
