We are no in good shape economically to support other countries' economies. We need companies to come back to produce in the USA and those extra charges are an incentive to start producing again in the USA. Ok I need some help understanding this. If it’s a dumb idea for the US then why isn’t it a dumb idea for Canada too? As I understand it, the US tariffs mean things imported from Canada get a few slapped on top and that is paid by Americans, to discourage them from buying Canadians things. Why wouldn’t Canada continue importing US things as before and not put extra fees on top, so they don’t have to find new suppliers and cause disruption? Then it is just America punching itself in the face not both of them.

Alberta, Canada: I just returned from shopping and I am happy to say that I managed to spend CAD $450 on groceries without spending a single cent on American products! I buy a lot of organic items and many of them come from California. But putting in the time today at the store and reading labels, I realized that there is a Canadian/Mexican/European equivalent for everything I need ; )
