I came from France back in 2015 whith my familly when Harper was still prime minister at the time , really I'd say things have been really great , my family and I have worked hard to get to where we are today and have always wanted to give back to our community here but I am disgusted to see in 2024 what Trudeau has done to the country and to see that immigration is no longer as prestigious as it used to be. Unlike some people we have today, I had to wait 3 years with my family before receiving approval to move to Canada (after so many exams, appointments and waiting times). I did my middle school here until college and I'm currently still looking for work in correctional and when I see that people arrive here afterwards without being permanent residents, who are literally flooding spots at colleges/university and also jobs that are normally open for young canadians in their 15-16 (When I was in high school, my first job was at a McDonald's, and without exception, everyone there was Canadian. Today, when I go back to the same McDonald's for a cheeseburger every now and then, the entire staff is nothing but Indians) .As a person with an immigrant background, I'm the first one to say that there's a very big problem in Canada, and that current immigration, mainly from India, is no longer for economic reasons but to reunite families.(They do not, and will never, assimilate into Canadian culture.)Now that I've grown up in Canada for almost half my life, I'm already thinking about either returning to France or start over somewhere else if nothing changes.\n\nThe Trudeau government, uncontrolled immigration, dangerous idelogies from extreme far left idea, rising unemployment, and economic misery getting worse every day , gradually pushes me away from the country I love, Oh Canada.

Being a brown person is in fact a good thing medically. \n\nWe all need to find means to live in harmony and not create nuisance or bother others, be it an immigrant, outsider, natives, local, westerners…..\n\nLet’s make the world a better place to live in peace and harmony. I came to Canada 20 years ago from East Europe to embrace the Western culture. It's all gone now. I'm back in Europe now, I left everything behind, great achivements and a great career because I don't want to live in Asia, Romania is more democratic and Weatern culture than Canada by far. Oh, and less communist too. Shame, I love Canada and I was greatful for everything it gave me. God help us all.

French Canadian here, living in Austin, TX. Lived in Jacksonville, FL before, as well as Charlotte, NC and Cleveland, OH. I've known from a very yougn age that I wanted to live in the US. I like life in the US better. Canada is a great place to sleep if you'll pardon the expression. The only thing I miss from Canada is the simplicity of the healthcare compared to the US. Everything else is better in the US (the places where I've lived at least). Healthcare is excellent in the US but the billing of the healthcare is a nightmare compared to the simplicity of it in Canada.\n\nCanadians' opinions about the US are VERY OFTEN exagerated, it's a fact.

I moved to Canada as a child with my parents 41 years ago. It isn't just inflation and cost of living that is the problem. It's the dramatically increasing racism and discrimination, even against people who have been living in this country longer than the racists discriminating against them. Seriously? This is not the Canada that I came to as a child, grew up in, or have lived and worked in for many decades. I made the mistake of working around the world for a short time and picking up an accent that wasn't even mine originally. I had a Canadian accent before finishing elementary school. To come back to be asked to go home or 'we don't want your sort here' is not just simple racism, but hatred that makes me regret ever having agreed to taking on Canadian citizenship. My kids and grandchildren have Canadian accents and were Canadians from birth. But should they leave and return to the same crap??? What disgusts me more is that the PM dares to include immigrants with refugees, under the banner that 30% of the population are immigrants. Under the law, refugees are temporary migrants and usually nothing more. To bundle immigrants who came to Canada through legal means of applications, brought hundreds of millions dollars into Canada with them of their own hard-earned money from their own countries, to have it taxed out of them, and their families deliberately put into poverty so Canada can fulfil its 19th century-PM Macdonald immigration policy of, and I quote from a Canadian federal government website, quoting PM Macdonald directly, about breeding out the Indigeneous people, is beyond sick! The refugees get a free ride at the expense of hard-working Canadians, 90% of whom came from immigrant stock! What happens when Trudeau says these deceitful lies about legal immigrants is that the racism and discrimination increases dramatically. I have been left in agony in hospital due to evil racist Canadians who thought that my accent meant that I had just flown in yesterday and what right did I have to be there? Police refused to charge a neighbor whose son was threatening the life of my grandchild because the neighbor works for the CRA! Other people have the same complaints. Democracy? What democracy, oh, and please spare us Mr. Trudeau the claim to be a constitutional monarchy, when most don't want the monarchy as a head of state for Canada! I have been honored to have known, still know, and will know in the future, many good, hard-working, caring and decent Canadians, but Mr. Trudeau, can you explain to me, how many of those were actually of immigrant stock and how many have forgotten where their families came from? Canada used to be a good country, but when a person has to keep explaining where they got their job experience from and if they have any Canadian experience for every time that they look for a job in their lifetime in Canada, something is very wrong with Canada. Most jobs in Canada are blue collar and very few are white collar, yet Canada still continues to deceive the world into believing otherwise. Canada is a great vast and beautiful land, but only a small percentage of it has any infrastructure, roads, or homes sufficient to house what is a decreasing fraction of society. Refugees take preference over immigrants and citizens alike. The lie about the homeless is getting bigger. Most homeless Canadians today are veterans, elderly, disabled, mentally ill, poor, and professionals and trades people, yet Canada brings in countless professionals, claiming that their education and experience will get them into the professions that they are coming from. It's all a scam! Canadian education is not the best and yet people with better educations and job experience are being forced to spend all their money to go back to university or college to get jobs that they rarely will be hired for. Canada is not short of doctors, just short of professionals who hire professionals without using discrimination, hatred and racism for their HR kit! Many taxi drivers are doctors, engineers, and so on. So, please stop lying to the world and tell the truth. And no doubt this entry will be taken down because it offends a Canadian who doesn't want the world to know the truth.

Oh i wasn’t expecting quebec to be thee no1 on this list but it’s nice to see it there im from greater Montreal\nIm not the bragging type but it feels nice to see it there especially that most people don’t fully appreciate the luck we have\nIt’s also funny to see that most people from outside say Montreal is amazing and people from around the city love to hate it for some reasons\nI must say that recent years have been hard cos of the consequences of the pandemic among other things which made the access to healthcare much harder than just a few years ago and also the prices of houses and rents have exploded since 2020 and the crime rate have raised in Montreal but not as much as cities cited in the video from the prairies \nI think its still a great place and safe place to live and we are lucky to be in that province and that country even though quebecois love to complain or as we say « chialer »

I'm a Brit who has lived here 13 years and my advice to any Brit thinking of moving here is not to. If you can live in a nice county and you have a decent job you are better off in the UK. There is a lot of decline in urban areas here, tweaking drug addicts and tent encampments the likes the UK has NEVER seen. It's incredibly expensive to rent if you want to live anywhere remotely interesting. The infrastructure is so bad, unless you have a vehicle or lots of money to keep flying, you will feel incredibly isolated here. Brits are lucky to have such a great network of public transport and close proximity to Europe and all the cheap flights to get you around there. The work life balance is not as good as the UK. Most jobs here will start you on 2 weeks a year and only increase as your service grows. So after 5 years of service you will get 3 weeks and so on. Don't expect 5 weeks vacation until you have put 20 years in with most jobs. Canada is boring, it really is and so are most Canadians who also seem to have no idea what a sense of humour is. I have found new immigrants to be the friendliest, especially those from China, India, Vietnam and the Philippines. Now to the wokeness of the place, oh gosh, it's so bad. The Alberta premier has just announced very sensible and much needed gender reforms which 95% of Canadians agree with. These reforms will protect young gay kids mostly. The left have completely lost their mind over this. Women here are in genuine fear of speaking out regarding their privacy and rights to single sex spaces and sports. In the UK , this is slowly improving I believe. I'm putting things in place so I can leave. I hope things improve once the liberal government are gone but it will take many years to get this country back on track.

Great video - so very very true, moved here in 2010, and the decline has been noticeable, especially over the last 5 years. The crime, the trash, the homeless camps, the endless roadworks, the cost of well everything...........I can understand why sooooo many people get disillusioned, oh and throw in the terrific weather we get and I struggle why I'm still here! One thing he didn't mention about Ontario, is the southwestern area get crazy humid in the summer days, thanks to being surrounded by great lakes... One year (4-5 years ago?) I'm not joking go to 90+% humidity, somewhere between 30-40c.... The comment about the U.S. education system should've been more clarified. The U.S. education as a whole, is behind the majority of developped countries. What you learn in grade 10, the majority of other countries have learned it in grade 8 or 9. The U.S. system doesn't seem to teach anything outside of the U.S. Here in Canada, our edcucation system will teach us a bit about the U.S., England, France, other European countries, Asia, South America, etc... We learn a great deal about our country, but we also learn about the rest of the world as well. Oh, and one last thing about our education system (and many other countries around the world) .....we don't ban books from school because there might be some references to gays, lesbians, LGBTQs or LGBTQIA2S+ in it.

I was today speaking with the eligibility process to Canada. Was perfect scoring and super high scoring in everything, from being great great granddaughter of an ingenious individual they forced into re-educational school, speak fluent English and some basic French, to would be moving as a social work graduate with prior HND in Accounting, under 30 etc. Got moved onto process until I mentioned I was autistic, a, guy had adactiy to ask if it is severe or mild (my replay was oh im a spicy garlic herb which he did not like before correcting there is not such a thing), and b) inform me I am not permitted in spite being high functional applying unless I get a government job and they sponser me.... I was applying after being informed Canada got rid of this discriminatory policy because my dream was always Canada or New Zealand

Hmm I wonder why difficult technical jobs are relatively low paying in Canada. Oh right because you're in competition with the entire world, not just other Canadian citizens born and raised in Canada. Canada is effective subsidized the whole world and artificially lowering their own employment standards. As sad as it sounds, there will always be someone talented from a developing nation willing to do your very difficult job which you studied years to be able to do, for barely above the cost of living, because this is still better than their career and life trajectory in their own nation. How many big tech firms in the US have fired thousands of US employees in austerity moves, only then to apply for H1B visa a week later. Why educate, train, employ, and pay fairly American workers, when you can find an immigrant willing to do it for half the price. I'm pro immigration and even pro high special immigration, but the cutoff for H1B visa salaries should be 50% higher than prevailing wages in similar roles. If this position is so specialized and in demand that there simply aren't enough native populations available to do it and schools simply aren't training it, then supply and demand homie, go pay for it. Oil, gas, and petroleum engineering is a great example of this - the US barely teaches this anymore despite there being demand, so we have to hire foreign nationals. Engineering and medicine are examples of oligarchs finding ways to extract the most capital by exploiting people as much as possible. Why pay a reasonable wage for really difficult jobs, when you can find a foreigner willing to do it for barely enough to cover groceries and rent.

Been to USA several times. NYC,Florida,Boston, Virginia (includingDC) Houston, Michigan and LA. Never really had a bad experience except at 6 Flags in Springfield. The teens would walk 6 or 7 abreast and literally run you down. I finally said to my wife we need to stop thinking like Canadians and stand our ground . It worked. My son was 17 at the time and at the end night show was amazed by the rabid cheering as all the branches of the military were named. We always carried extra insurance. Overall We found the people to be really friendly and interested in where we were from. The comment on Nova Scotia was usually “oh wow”. Not sure if they thought we were from the ends of the earth or had no Idea where it was. No i would not live there but the USA is full-of really nice people and it’s a great place to visit.

I’ve lived in both countries in small towns and big cities Hell No Thanks and I would have great insurance. I remember in preschool having to do active shooter drills in the US nope. If you look at stats on gun violence and mass shootings it’s crazy. The US leads by an astronomical amount. Tyler says the US has more access to guns and although I have no idea where to get a gun I think people could get one pretty easily but we don’t need them. I can walk in the dark and not fear for my safety and Canada has only had 3 mass shootings in its whole history. Of course medical, dental, education, women’s rights, maternity and paternity leave, unemployment, help when Covid lockdown happened, clean free water in homes, housing, … on and on. America the “free” is antiquated and no longer true. Education has slid to 30 something in world rankings and Canada is in the top 3. Cost of education, daycare, child benefits ect. I could write paragraphs. Also it’s hilarious when you hear American say oh we’ll just moved to Canada like they can just drive here and settle down?!?there’s a border and you can’t illegally just move here and get a job. If you’ve lived in both countries you’d know the difference. I don’t even want to vacation there anymore since about 10 years or so ago.

Then why did you run away from it? This is America and yes America is founded by immigrants of all types but while this country gives you everything the only flag that you should be proudly waving is the American flag and nothing else, or at the very least the American flag should be the biggest flag you should be waving and try to learn some English, that way you don’t feel like people are taking advantage of you. As someone from Belgium that now lives in Columbus OH because of marriage, you're spot on with everything. Safety? Limited. Sprawl? Terrible. Rent? Eh it's not that bad. I make a base salary of $82.5k and my wife makes $50k. Our 2br 1ba apartment's rent is about $1000. It's a nice place, but it has some flaws. Our next place will be around $1500. I've told my wife I don't like the sprawl and lack of public transport here and I want to move to a place where that is less of an issue: Chicago, NYC or Boston. However, the latter two have crazy high rent.\n\nI must add, the terribly unsupported public education system in Columbus is by far the worst reason. My wife is a teacher at a Columbus City School that's almost 100% black. White families put their kids through private schools. The rest of the kids have terrible home lives and are therefore incredibly ill-behaved and under-educated. So much so that the teachers just CANNOT keep up with Ohio's learning standards. By the time these kids graduate (and that's a big IF), they would have learned about 20% of what a regular 18-year old would have learned in most of the world. This is in part due to:\n1. Parents that do not involve themselves in what their children do, and therefore do not discipline appropriately.\n2. Terrible school admins that force teachers to lower their standards to have a high passing rate for the school (otherwise it gets shut down). Also, due to the No Child Left Behind Act, admins also force teachers to teach how to pass state tests (repetitive bullshit) instead of important learning materials and/or critical thinking skills.\n3. A lot of these students are pushed into the gang lifestyle and see no future in their education. They don't even try.\n4. Burned out teachers that grew tired of the negative ROI and start giving out poor and inadequate work packets. However, I don't like blaming teachers, especially because my wife is the hardest working person I know.\n\nIt's hard to see my wife come back every day, exhausted. It pains me both for her and her kids. America doesn't give a fuck about education. The big theory is that they're purposely not giving public schools attention so they can be phased out and private education becomes the norm. And if you can't afford it? That's great, we need factory workers.\n\n\nI might convince my wife to move to Europe eventually (luckily a European marriage visa isn't as stupidly hard to obtain as it was for me to get here). Having kids in America is not something I'd like to think about. For now, I'm taking advantage of this high salary to save as much as I can and focus on advancing in my career. Sadly, that's really the only thing America is good for...

I hope you don't underestimate Europe's existing problems when i went to London 4 years ago i was shocked that it wasnt the place i imagined it to be no need to explain im sure you understand what i mean. Im an Asian immigrant, but i wasnt expecting that i couldnt even see a caucasian in London mostly arabs, blacks, indians, some asians i do not hate it but im just confused i worked in the middle east for 10 yrs and i was hearing arabic speaking everywhere, also asian language its like im in Vancouver or Surrey area. I thjnk its not an isolated problem probably your new to that place thats why you do not see the problems yet but i hope you made the right decision. All the best. The tax is really quite high but the Canadain government though with some flaws is still better than most countries believe me i have lived in Asia, middle east and been to places and met all kinds of people. One thing that seperates Canadian from most other nationalities despite the different ethnicities and races Canadians are generally nice and less violent and id rather have my kids grow up here than any part of the world. Are you kidding? I live in Montreal, quebec and oh boy you are wrong about the rent. Its not affordable at all .. montreal is really expensive and many people are getting out of montreal , especially quebecor and they go in regions where its less expensive. But i don't really like montreal , but quebec in general is really amazing to live in. Great jobs opportunities, great school system, great food, healthcare however should improve more, but its fine for the most part. Quebec is an amazing province. Come and live here!!

I have to disagree with all the comments. We lived in Texas for about 3 years. It was horrible. Jobs were scarce and its dangerous. Every night we had to watch our backs. Crime is incredibly high. We didn't feel safe. And the health care. Oh boy it's bad. If you don't have good coverage your not getting health treatment. We never had the funds to see a doctor because it was just too damn expensive. We moved to Toronto. Couldn't be happier. We don't have to worry about the crime so we feel safe. Sure the health care is slow that's true but at least it's free we don't have to pay a dime to see a doctor. And plus. WEED IS LEGAL. I can smoke all the weed I want here without facing any questioning by the authorities. So I think it's not fair for you guys to talk bad about this great country.

I'm from Quebec and moved to Alberta and I agree it could be a great province to live in, except if your job is in Montreal and you want to commute. The traffic of Montreal is horrible, even worse than Toronto's. The healthcare and education systems of Quebec are also inferior to Alberta, BC and Ontario because of the very heavy bureaucracy. Oh and heavy bureaucracy = Higher taxes than elsewhere in the country. But Quebec has a good quality of life in general because of its low cost of living in general and its strict controls on rent, car insurance and electricity prices, which prevent these from going up by too much. People tend to benefit from more government protections towards abusive businesses in Quebec than elsewhere in the country. Quebec also has cheaper beer, but wine and spirits are cheaper in Alberta. That province also doesn't have a lawsuit culture because of its no-fault rules in many aspects (For ex: You cannot be sued for causing a car accident or failing to clear snow from your driveway.) Alberta is more boring (At least, Edmonton. Calgary looks very cool.), but has better public services and better economic potential than Quebec. It's better in my opinion to raise a family in Alberta. And many people think you can move to Quebec without knowing French. That's false, except if you really wanna hate your time in Quebec. In terms of the climate, Quebec has a milder climate than Alberta but has more snow and their summers are very damp, while Alberta has more comfortable and dry summers. Owning an A/C is imperative in Quebec.

What was the point of this…\nBOOK?\n\nMy favourite provinces (not ranking) are Ontario, Alberta, BC, Quebec, and Nova Scotia. \n\nOntario for the history, the world records, *(longest street on earth at least at one point, tallest tower in North America, Toronto most multicultural city, etc.)* and the terrain/coolness of Ontario- the big cities, surprisingly safe, the good weather some places, the icy terrain near Hudson Bay, and pretty nice forests.\n\nAlberta for the coolness aswell, the big cities Calgary and Edmonton are pretty great, and the mountains are awesome, the oil is useful, the lakes are great- and yeah the great, safe place to live overall.\n\nBC for the amazing mountains too, the islands, Vancouver is SO amazing just seeing a picture of it, its unique that a big city is spread across so many islands, and the pacific- \n? oh I do like to be beside the sea side ? \nAnd BC has great forests like Ontario. Just- take in mind that it’s the only province with grizzly bears. (Alberta might idk)\n\nQuebec for the history, (all the history is in Quebec City)\nAnd the great terrain, it looks amazing- they have a lot of Great Lakes (wait Ontario has more, in fact all of those) and even just it’s one big city, Montreal. For the biggest province it’s got just one big city but it is _huge._ and Montreal is a great sight to see. Big city- and stuff. (I’ve been writing too much) oh also French…. Stuff.\n\nNOVA SCOTIA IS GOOD BC well Halifax is pretty freakin sweet and the Atlantic is a great sight as well as in Newfoundland and warmest in PEI. Oh and Nova Scotia is cool bc it holds record for find of the worlds largest lobster on its shore. ? \nIt has some nice villages too but I like the seaside the best out of any province there I think.

I went and viewed 3 vacant apartment in a building. Available immediately. I was ready to take one. I noticed, as we went to each apartment that they were all inhabited by Polish people. The Superintendent and the Property Manager, also Polish. I am guessing the owner was too.\nI am a single, middle aged, clean and healthy, responsible white woman. NOT polish though. After submitting my application and deposit I waited. 5 days later called and left a message, 2 days after, called again. No answer. Then, called from a Private number and they answered right away. I asked them the status of my application. We are sorry ... all three apartments taken. \nI believe I was discriminated against because I am not Polish. Oh well ... I've moved on. Found a great apartment up the street for less rent, free parking and a very welcoming atmosphere.\nLife goes on.
