So this is what a rational intelligent leader of the nation sounds like. As a Vietnam veteran I didn't move to Canada during the Vietnam war but now it's starting to sound a lot better

His local reputation is not good and to loose upcoming elections , to divert and shift focus, this is an attention diverting tactics to shift attention and make him look like a hero. \nIf he really cared for his people, he would have either prevented it by aggressive backdoor talks or, or if this happened without his awarness then he could have spoken privately to Trump to sort it out in the real interest of his own nation, cut the ego for Good of his own people and an sort it out , why he did not do it ?\nNow by publically engaging and directly targetting, he has achieved two things 1. temporary fame as majority of people are upper grass mongers are emotional but no attention to details 2. He spoiled further his relationship with Trump administration by this public spat, rubbing him on the wrong side, spoils future of his own people. Diplomacy is done by maturity not by ego.

You know I’ve been killing myself working non stop for like a decade trying to hold it all together because of all the increased prices of everything. As a result I have not been paying attention. I know the tariff thing was happening, but didn’t know why this was a thing. \n\nShame on me for not being more up to date. \n\nI also know nothing about Trudeau or his political stance on literally anything aside from what he talked about in this video. \n\nI must say this was of speaking is EXACTLY what I expect from a world leader. Everything was delivered very well and without personal emotions. He’s not going off the cuff and saying whatever pops into his head. THIS is the exact style of communication we need from world leaders. I don’t see how it helps anyone, anywhere in the world to have people in control of nuclear armed nations to be shooting from the hip with communication.

In Toronto, I went grocery shopping after work and there was certainly a sense of national pride & determination in everyone there. Lots of people clustering around certain products and helping others, scanning products with apps that identify supply chains. As I went to the cashier, I dutifully returned my OJ to the store fridge and picked up some apple cider instead. To me this is more than existential, this is personal.\n\nWe will not back down; Canada shall prevail ?

And according to the recent poll I saw on CNN 50% of Americans like what he's doing, and only something like 34% see Russia as an enemy. I will miss my Prime Minister Trudeau. He speaks for me, and I know, many others . . . .we aren't interested in buying American goods. We aren't interested in visiting the states. We are focused, at this point, on our own economy. In the last month I have discovered a few gems, produced by local businesses within 100 miles of where I live. Healthier for my family, healthier for my economy. More expensive, yah, a little. But in the long run, it will make us a stronger economy, a stronger nation.
