I lived in Canada for 11 years, 2008 - 2019, went to university and worked in Toronto. I come from an upper-middle class family in China, went to a top university in Canada, landed good jobs and I speak English like a native. I got my PR in 2015 and I remember the painful uphill battle I had to go through just get that. All the bureaucracy, redtape, unnecessarily rigid rules, high cost and long wait I received from CIC/IRCC felt like a humiliation to me. Every document was scrutinized and every step had obstacle that fealt unreasonable (my TOEFL examiner ask me why I had to do the language test required by CIC, and I had to visit a notary to validate my Chinese national ID card). It felt uneasy but I understood that these were the rules that everyone had to go through, and moving and integrating into a new society was never meant to be easy. I went back to Canada in 2021 and 2024, and it was evident that the country I once called home had gone down the hill. The streets were screaming crime, unemployment, inflation, drug and filth, it's total social rot. As someone who went through the whole immigration process (and many of my friends who went through the same have left Canada for good, like myself), I attribute much of this to failed immigration policy. I cannot help but feel confused, angry, betrayed and humiliated when I look at the recent immigration policies of Canada and their results, and compare with what I had to go through. The feeling sums up to: Canada penalizes the hard-working and law-abiding people, and rewards the undeserved and the cheaters. Example: when the US creates wars in the Middle East, why does CANADA bear the cost of bringing in refugees? I never regretted moving back to China and East Asia, and I feel bad for those who still truly think of Canada as home, as I am one myself. When the leadership of a country deviates from pragmatism, reason and common sense, and instead embraces idealogies, hypocrisy and political optics, this is what happens. The prices are paid by everyone, immigrant or not. For this, Trudeau deserves a court trial for his incompetence and dereliction of duty; and the people of Canada need some honest and serious retrospection. I will share some words of wisdom by the late Lee Kwan Yew: “Whoever governs Singapore (LKY was the PM and founding father of Singapore) must have that iron in him. Or give it up. This is not a game of cards, this is your life and mine. I've spent a whole lifetime building this and as long as I'm in charge, nobody is going to knock it down.” I hope the clownish weakling politicians in Canada (and, in much of the western world nowadays) can be enlightened a little bit.

I'm in NYC, my neighborhood is literally every kind of immigrant, Filipino, Jamaican, West Indian, Indian, Haitian... all low to middle class, with some who really _saved_ up working for their 30-50 years here. Kids born or here since little kids, educated and making good money with few exceptions. And so of course the neighborhood.. looks just like any neighborhood in America (albeit denser and more traffic). Must be all that 'wokeness' in NYC. This has nothing to do with white or black or brown, of course. This dynamic plays out anywhere with people that are unwilling to challenge themselves and their ego just finding an easy scapegoat...

The problem is not immigration, it is about why government giving visa when there is a job crisis for those who are already there? It is a cheating with the people who are paying huge money as a students and getting no exposure of jobs, it is not because of education that students are coming it is because of exposure of an International companies which they are hoping to get, students are adding money to the economy how can you blame the students who are coming legally??

Canada calls students to give them PGWP after finishing their educations in Canada. The students pay ultra high education and life expenses. Then, Canada says we don’t need this much skilled worker as white collar, but you can works as uber drivers or Tim Hortons workers. The reason is Canadian youths don’t want to work in those odd jobs. However, Canadian people complain about the immigrant odd workers. They think economy is bad because of those immigrants who paid thousands of dollars for education and have been working in odd jobs. Canada’s government needs to check also about issuing the driver license. because i’ve heard that you can pay now to pass the driving test even all this people doesn’t know the rules or even following all the signs on the road. I’ve never seen so much car accident and too much car on the road. Why it is easy for them now to get a license. We need to remember driving in other country is not the same here. Assuming that the issues discussed in these sessions are important to Canadians and that the Liberal government is all for transparency, why are the MPs seeking information/answers on behalf Canadians so limited in time to ask questions? I have watched many of these sessions and the interviewees always appear unprepared, or ignorant of how their departments function, or give evasive replies.

Well, I'm gonna give you Canada Immigration an advice on how to catch these people and all those in other countries who has the same situation. These people are doing jobs like delivery like Uber, Skip, Doordash, etc., BUT...they are not using their legal name to apply for that instead they are using another person's account to do that job, whose account is legal and had been in the job for so many years. The connection between those people is not relevant to any gang or organizations but they operate like one, the advantage is both parties earn money while in their eyes is "legal". This is normal settings in my country(3rd world country), you have several taxis and you need to hire drivers to operate, its up to you if you're gonna hire legit drivers or not, the only difference is that the undocumented driver is cheaper. And how do I know these things, I work in a fastfood chain in Waterloo, you need to identify which order the driver will pickup and the delivery driver need to verify the order by the order number through the app but sometimes you can see the Account's photo is different from the delivery driver, so yeah, that's the gist of it. I have no idea why modern countries like Canada and America are so "dumb" or lack of critical thinking when it comes to crimes like this, but I guess people and politicians are the same all over the world. And now, they are bringing more people without checking their background, if there's any criminal record or such, oh yeah, speaking of that, how do you verify those records from another country if those records can be produced with 3rd party company in which an employee from a government institution is behind it to make it more look like it is legit.

Our families have been here from India since 1887 in Canada. Our parents came here 1965. We suffered racism and pathed the way for the newcomers. The difference is that our parents came the right way with a sponsorship. These newcomers think they are better than us. We couldn't afford a car for years. My family immigrated during the war, my grandmother came here after escaping a concentration camp when she was a little girl, her and my mother taught me to appreciate what we have, because it was worked hard for, they worked hard to make a living and a future for their families, they were given money by family that was here and paid back every, single, cent, it wasn't just given to them for free by the government while the rest of the people here suffer, so many of the people are brought here and given everything, it's like people have never heard the phrase "Give a man to fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish, he eats for life." the problem is that they keep giving them fish, so now they expect it so much they damn near demand it... it sickens me. I'm a student right now, 15 years ago it felt like I lived in my home, proudly in Canada, with all kinds of people... now, I go to class, and I feel like I live on a different planet, everyone looks the same, with a hint of variety... This is why I desperately wish there was an actual Libertarian party to vote for in elections! There is a party, but they have not gotten enough signatures to be able to run yet, I don't even know if there is an office or representative in Ontario right now! I wish! Totally agreed. If you want to maintain your culture then do not migrate. But whose fault is this? Canada and some other western countries give too much freedom to immigrants to do whatever they want. So people started keep practicing their own culture instead of adopting the Canadian culture. I worked since I was 14, (A lot of times evenings and weekends, several times, two jobs)! I am now 63, I got hurt at work! First I had to fight compensation for a year, ZERO $$$! Then I had to apply to get Disability Canada Pension because I can't physically work anymore.. (damaged back, head injury, I have to use a cane and knee braces to walk)! I spent my savings just surviving while being forced to fight for MY money from my own government for 5 years just to get a measly $300. a month! THAT'S IT! Luckily my spouse works , we paid off our house ten years ago! But, we still barely get by! Every person I speak to about my case with the government on the phone, can barely speak English and yell at me or are VERY impatient with me, because I can't understand THEM, they usually hang up! When I ask to please speak to someone IN Canada, they hang up, then I have to wait another hour to talk to someone else! (I went to 4 government funded agencies to see if I could possibly get a job working from home, because I have trouble getting out! All sent me somewhere else! One agency who is supposed to help disabled people in WPG, REES, the agent refused to talk to me or look me in the eye, * he got a supervisor to talk to me! Because he's Muslim and I'm Gay! They were continuously hostile/aggressive towards me without reason??? I volunteer at 2 different food banks , I've met TONS of people who have never worked a day in their lives, their family, parents, grandparents have never worked... EVER! Yet they have brand new trucks??? Still go to food banks? AND, several new Canadians who I've met, have never worked a day in Canada... Some with new cars??? Yet everyone else receives 10 times what I receive to live on??? I PAID TAXES ALL OF MY LIFE! We can't afford a car! Yet... I don't blame them! I would take it they offered! I blame our government (NDP, Libs, AND CONservatives) who don't give a crap about disabled and seniors in Canada! Or if you paid taxes all of your life , into a system that's supposed to help when you need it! ALL politicians in Canada just whore out their votes! I've volunteered for almost 40 years, also holding down jobs, helping others, I've never seen so may seniors and disabled people forced to access food banks and soup kitchens than the last few years! EVER! Disabled people have to constantly prove they are disabled enough to get kitchen scraps from sociopathic politicians who are over paid and under worked! Fees go up, taxes go up, housing goes up, property taxes go up, bus fairs go up, etc.. Services go WAY down! We can afford trillion$ in corporate welfare, but not help our own? I agree with the these people's comments regarding the immigration issues. I've been Canadian for over 50 years and this is the worst I've seen or experienced here in this country. Why are we as major tax payers are forced to finance the lives of these people who are only here to take from us, not give back in any way for us who supported them coming in to feel it's been a good decision made by our government, from our pockets. They do also bring their war, stealing, lying, scamming with them, creating more division with us who were living peacefully before. There's so much more that I see and experience now, that makes me want to leave, and it shouldn't be me who leaves home for others who have no good intentions.

I was born and raised here. I've given birth to 6 children whom all have issues finding employment. Because all the jobs are taken every convenience store every timorhorns, every Taco Bell, every Burger King. Is taken their jobs and giving them to newcomers. Some politicians needed new votes to stay in power, so they opened wide the doors, inviting them and giving them benefits (paid for by taxpayers) without giving a dam that Canada was already in a housing crisis, Canada HAS to turn the "NO VACANCY" light on and send a bunch back. And before any governments send $$$ care packages to another country, Canadians should be asked if yes or no and about how much, NOT the governments. They are there to work FOR us not us for them!

Why do Canadians continue to vote for the same liberal disastrous government? We needed a change many years ago, but Canadians are deaf, dumb and blind! Our government is actively working 'against' citizens and not 'for' citizens. They have an agenda to replace citizens with these new immigrants who will work for much lower wages. It is all about giving jobs to migrants and for the elite to get richer.

If elections were honest if they were we canadians rooted ones at that queen put my family here in canada after the wars grandfather fought and won both wars to give me what I had and now immigrants have taken that over government and people today wouldn't exist with out my grandfather . Dusabled 60 year old here. My government is kind enough to give this 6th generation canadian 940 dollars per month to try to exist on. All my family fought in ww1 and ww2 as well as other peace keeping etc.

The government has turned Canadians against immigrants. People should look to see who is to blame and it's not the immigrants. When Canadians work all their lives and the government is taking from Canadians and giving it to people who haven't contributed a dime to the system.

These individuals (refugees, etc.) are receiving government funding of $ 10,000 a month. They boast on TikTic that if you come to Canada as a refugee, the government gives you free housing and $85K a year. You do not have to work, As soon as they arrive in Canada, they are driving expensive cars, getting free food from Costco, getting credit cards from the bank and purchasing houses. They drive Teslas, BMWs, and the most expensive cars that they could have never ever owned in their country. The healthly men do not work and live a luxurious life all at the expense of we the tax payers. Meanwhile, hard-working, tax-paying Canadians are living paycheck to paycheck. We Canadians are sick and tired of this BS

I was born here in Canada in 1969 and since Justin Trudeau took over as our government, everything just went downhill. I also very upset with our government bringing in millions of Immigrants and giving large handouts of of our Canadian tax dollars to support the new immigrants that our coming into Canada. Why is the government giving large hand outs to these Indian immigrants instead of helping us true Canadians who helped built this Country. It is a dam shame to see what the Liberal Government our doing to this country of ours were many are homeless, high cost of living and the high crimes that happens every day in Canada and what does the government do is let these criminals back into our streets where us true Canadians do not feel safe any more. The one thing that pisses me off is seeing is all these new immigrants coming into Canada by the thousands that are taking away our Canadian entry jobs like Walmart, McDonalds and A & W fast food restaurant where as our young born Canadian students and others can not find a job to help them pay for there school loans and get a good education degree. We need to put a stop to this. For enough is enough before our Liberal Government destroys our country.
