Enough of the multicultural crap. I am for the melting pot all the way now. However having said that, I would rather have peaceful Indians than violent Muslim no go zones.

If a social credit system was ever applied to this country. I wonder which cultures would fare better than others. Its a melting pot i know, but if people were forced to apply a credit score based on the individuals around them and how they act?

This isn't something exclusive to Brampton anymore. Here in Niagara Region, and from comments I have been reading below it is happening all over Southern Ontario and across major cities across our great nation. So before some lib-tard starts at me.... Canada was built on immigration as a mosaic, not a melting pot; however if that mosaic isn't woven with diverse threads then..... the idealistic principle of that mosaic goes out the window, and we are left with Canadians being left behind. This is Trudeau's fault along with the housing minister, the deputy PM and the entire Liberal/NDP coalition. What is the fix? SEND ALL LIBERALS PACKING NEXT ELECTION.

Your taxes are a little bit off base. Canada experiences are much larger tax load than you realize. When you calculate taxes in Canada, you must consider, of course, the direct tax load, but also the indirect tax load. Despite tax laws, not allowing taxes, being taxed, it is done regularly on, gasoline, natural gas, food, goods, and other things. When you consider the direct and indirect taxes, well informed economists consider the tax load to be around 65 to 67% in taxes. This is a huge driver of people leaving Canada, it’s not affordable.money is mobile hence people move out. The NDP backed liberals in Canada to stop the mobility of Canadians emigrating from Canada. Canada turned a hard left and socialist almost completely the opposite of Singapore, which is very inviting to business, due to its founders philosophy of welcoming businesses, and all ethnicities into a melting pot. In Canada, people called themselves, Ukrainian, Mexican, and other things. In Singapore, all phenotypes call themselves Singaporean. I smile when I hear this. Nationalism is a huge target for socialists. Hence present day Canada.

If I didn’t have family in Canada, I would go back to the USA. Vastly overpriced here. Lacking tremendous leadership, yet America is presently worse. My hope though is the recovery rate is better in the USA. Global respect and support is far better in USA. A melting pot mindset rather than major diversity….better weather also. Yikes, I better get going.\nOne thought though….Canada should not sit back and say how the world loves Canadians due to their past contributions. They should be striving today to build a dynamic society. A society that is self supporting, strong, dynamic leadership, productive.

The old it hasn't touched my life is a typical American response. Until it does. There were almost 2 mass shootings a day (630+) in the US in 2023. Back in the 70s and 80s, I spent a lot of time in the US due to my involvement in sports. Today, you couldn't pay me to step across the border. Ya, all gotta get your shit together. Fascism is knocking at your door. And it's migrating north. Canadians are better educated, and with our diversity, the average Canadian has a deeper understanding of the world. We are a global village unlike the US melting pot. It's a sad statement to make, but the world doesn't love America, just your money. Way back, I loved going to the Sabers games. It was a great night out, and only a quick hop across the border. Those days are long gone, and it breaks my heart.

A multi-cultural, multi-national melting pot is not to everyone's taste. A country with a predominate Muslim population would serve your needs better. I think you would be better suited in a different country than Canada or the US.

I often feel so very isolated in myself in MY way of life here in Canada (which doesn’t happen to be as a Muslim). After all, we are the “cultural melting pot,” and so many people of different cultures have come here and tried to make a life work for them. Canada is seen as “a land of dreams” by many, but it depends on what our dreams are, for real. For instance, what were many immigrants hoping for when they fled Europe after World War II? This family is telling us what they dream for their family, and Canada is not a good fit for what they value.

This is good news for Canada. We don’t have the infrastructure & we have been favouring asians, Canada is no longer a melting pot.

Mass immigration combined with multiculturalism simply destroys the character and soul of a place. Toronto and Canada as a whole is multi ethnic and should be more melting pot than multicultural.

Don't deceive Africans to move to Canada Infact they should acquire some funds to start a business or study to go back to Africa and move back to Africa entirely. A couple from ......i'm not really sure, but they wear turbons, moved above me a month ago....i was so relieved when i saw them moving in....i knew they were'nt gonna party all night, fight, and put holes in the walls..like the tenants before....they work every day, and are respectful to other tenants at night....for that i am very thankful...mabe they should stay, send the druggies, welfare bums, lazy asses out of the country....Canada is a melting pot, and we need more like them.....

Canada is not a “melting pot,” we are Cultural Mosaic. If you are going to critique our country and cities it would be helpful if you researched a little and didn’t confuse America’s identity with ours.

Canadian government has a major problem when you say TO is a melting pot of different cultures. They prefer you fluff it as mosaic of different cultures. I describe it as a cesspool of cultures. I moved out of TO decades ago to the Portland, OR and have zero desire to return to Canada.

I'd call it a pot of the world, not a melting pot. Noone wants to integrate. It all ends up in pockets of cultures that dont integrate or play together.

America has nothing but housing . That's another reason they're fleeing. Americans help foreigners more than we help ourselves. America is Land of the Free. America is Great, again. Just as a correction to some of the comments, Canada is not referred to as a ‘melting pot’ - it is referred to as a ‘mosaic’. The US uses the term melting pot’ as it is believed that you put everyone into a pot to create one type of citizen, while Canadians us a ‘mosaic’ to reference we are a diverse ground of citizens that, when put together, forms a picture (a culture).

This is not a secret weapon for the Canadians it is a ticking time bomb which is going to blow up in their Collective faces. A nation should have strict laws on who can immigrate there and who can become citizens. It is their right to control their borders. The USA has stopped being a melting pot in well over two decades

Bringing all these different cultures together… but if too many from one country show up, they’ll make a community too large that they don’t need to melt with the population. There are Chinatowns and Little Italys and whole Mexican communities, but ultimately everyone has to interact with everyone else. Allowing 300,000 Indians to get green cards every year and only 1,000 Norwegians would lead to the Norwegians merging well with the country, while the Indians would all move to one or two cities and make entire sections of the cities like small versions of their own country. Which is the last thing we want. Once an immigrant community gets enough power to be a voting block, things are scary, but once it has enough power that they start getting their own representatives and passing laws for the rest of us? Laws the look like laws they had back in their own countries… that led them to run from their countries in the first place? It’s a concern. We want people to adapt to the USA and not try to adapt the USA to them. Over time, the US does change due to the growing voting blocs. But that’s after generations of those immigrant populations getting larger, and their children being born and raised in the country they’ve adapted to. When I see a protest of Muslim immigrants burning pride flags, or Chinese and Spanish-speaking Hispanic immigrants who never bothered to learn English, I see problems with our immigration system. But the kids of the Arab immigrants will be more tolerant, and the Hispanic kids will have grown up in American schools. Most Chinese-American kids might speak some Chinese at home with their parents, but they’re worse at it, and their first language is English. It takes second Generation immigrants to really start meshing with America. But if entire school districts are all Indian, and every store, restaurant, and business in a whole town is Indian, then those kids won’t adapt to America. They won’t get bits of their home culture from their time at home and with their neighbors, while also getting bits of American culture from their classmates and other people around them. Nope. They’ll only be exposed to the first Generation who completely took over the area- IF, we allowed for unfettered immigration from the largest countries. It’s a fact that immigrant communities like to stick together. But if not enough people are in that community that you need to reach out to others around you, it helps expose you to the rest of America… Anyway! There are a ton of shows that indirectly show this phenomena. Fresh Off the Boat. The Sopranos. Even Brooklyn 99. We see as traditional and hard-to-adapt parents have to deal with kids in the next generation who are more American, don’t follow the same customs and traditions as their parents, and overall just left more of their old culture behind. No one is asking that immigrants abandon their cultural ties, but if you come to America, there are things that people need to change and accept if they’re going to live here.

Tyler, with complete respect you DON'T get why we generally have no interest in moving to the US. You constantly talk about 'you just have to find the right place to live'. True of anywhere, but here the choice would be about preferences and afordability, NOT to avoid gun violence or shunning because of political views.\nThere is no where in Canada I could move to where gun violence would be a big factor to consider (we have rough places, and gun violence, but STRICT gun laws). Let me give you some perspective. In 2019 the USA had 37,038 gun related deaths. (No other causes of death- JUST all gun death). In Canada, in 2019, our death by illegal means (which does include suicide, as it is illegal) was 5,874. (That is for ALL types of homicide, not just guns). And the government was shocked by the increase that year and tightened gun restrictions further.\nYou talk about having certain States more Red or Blue. We aren't bi- partisan, so our politics are a melting pot. You might have people you disagree with everywhere you go, but you will also always find an equal group who thinks similar (unless your an extremist). And even the people who think different will generally agree to dis- agree. There is next to nowhere in Canada where your political views would get you run out of town. \n\nYou are USED to thinking like an American. (Fair, your American; I think like a Canadian) Trust me, as a Canadian, there are aspects of the accepted American culture (your country's way of life) that is boarderline terrifying to people here.

We are not a smaller, better version of the US. We are a distinct society completely separate culturally from the US. I am all for the United States being a melting pot and letting people from other countries immigrate to the United States but it needs to be done legally and go through the immigration process then at least we know that they have a job waiting for him then when they come here instead of coming here in the hopes of getting a job and winding up homeless. We can't afford to provide food and shelter for the homeless that we currently have. let alone the millions more that we are going to have jumping the border due to the immigration policies put in place by our current administration. We need to focus on taking care of the current homeless situation first then worry about taking care of others

Need more jobs, lesser rent/lower inflation/removal of businesses not following labor laws/proper housing/homeless housing and job directories. I dont think keeping out immigrants will really improve anything, America has always been a melting pot of sorts and was ultimately built by immigrants and still relies on their affordability of labor cost. Americans are racist and afraid that theyll be knocked off the ladder by someone that will probably outwork them, then unable to afford homing, and unable to find a job themselves. They dont want to be in Mexicos shoes, Venezuela specifically, as shown here. US population has been around 54% working; while 76% from Mexico. A wall wasnt going to fix the situation, never was -- it was a bit silly dont you think? There shouldve been more put into expanding border patrol, they obviously handle it better. And claiming aslyum has backfired: theyre over-full, lack funding, and no one can remove them because it has become a neccesarity now.\nI dont think they should be denied a potentially better way of life but this wasnt as much an option as they had hoped it be.
