I have spent quite a bit of time in USA and I always find my experience split. For the most part the people and places are great. As a filmmaker I have shot in NYC, California, Mississippi to name a few. The people were always accommodating and friendly. One time a gentlemen and his wife that allowed us to film in his property would bring us hot chocolate at night, then offered to shoot anyone who got in our way. I was also filming in the desert in 2009 and I almost got shot in the face by a group of police officers that charged in guns out and tempers raging, before realizing that we had film permits and were scheduled to be on site. Only to have the crew say that if I was black they would have shot first and asked questions later. As tensions rise between Canada and USA with Trump's trade war and attempt to ANNEX Canada I think I will do my filming in other parts of the world, if not in Canada. I have plenty of American friends and know a lot of Canadians that live in the US. I just hope things settle between our two nations soon. Where do you live? Every student who comes to USA for M.S. graduate studenfrom India pay only 1semister fee to colleges but they apply for 2 year tuition in Indian banks \n\nWhat is happening is colleges collect 1 semester fee and after 1st semester.\n\n students work part time at restaurants, gas stations, Motels grocery stoes. Mostly at non chain stores. \n\nLegally they are suppose to work on campus but they work off campus and earn and then pay for college. And some send to India they their friends illegally.\n\nThey travel up to 50 miles around to work. \n\nThese students work for cash and work for $7 to $8 per hour or even less.\n\nStore proprietors / owners tell these students if anyone comes for raid they will tell that they are working on voluntary basis and taking salary. So like this millions of students work illegally.\n\nAfter student comes out of college during OPT and stem OPTA they continue to work and approach consulting companies to generate payroll / trainee for no r a son just to give them status. \n\nDuring OPT these employers collect money to pay taxes and generate payroll and keep them to put them to work and maintain their status.\n\nThis does not stop here.\nH1-B workers who come from India on lottery 80% do not have clent jobs but they use back door and show that they have jobs and continue to pay taxes to show on paper that they are still working with a hope that they get jobs in future. And do part time work at restaurants, grocery store etc..\n\nStudents also stay in apartments in groups of 5 to 6 in 2 bed room unit and share and save money actual apartment lease is on only 2 people remaining people stay illegal.\n\nLandlord cooperation is there. \n\nthis situation is causing so much trouble to American citizens. Most Americans do not get a job even if they get paid low wages due to these unauthorized workers.\n\nCreate a department to report every local illegal student workers or H1-Bs or OPTs to ICE and disqualify them and cancel their visas.

I used to go there when i was like 17 or something at the time all you needed was a Birth certificate and a drivers license now its a passport. I always enjoyed myself when i was there the people was so nice and what shocked me the most was interracial relationship. Tariffs are consumer taxes on imports, collected from your own citizens, whenever they buy products or services from other countries. Trump said he would reduce taxes. Well said! I hope our Ministry of Foreign Affairs takes note. It's high time India earns global respect, particularly from the UK, USA and EU. Offering arrival visas to income tax filers could be a game-changer and a start to that direction and will motivating more people to file returns to get that pride status. Currently, only 3% of Indians file tax returns, whereas at least 10% should. This initiative would benefit India and provide developed countries with a better filtering process.

I live in Germany for about 6 years, moving from Bosnia and didnt have any of those problems mentioned, excluding the bureaucratic hurdels. After 2011 census revealed that Muslims outnumbered Hindus in Assam (but the combined Hindu-tribal populated outnumbered Muslims), talks began about setting a registrar & tribunal to speed up the process of identifying & deporting illegal immigrants from Bangladesh. This picked up pace after the Hindu nationalist BJP party came to power in the union government in 2014 & in Assam's state government in 2016. Around 2018, the Assam government started the National Register of Citizens to register the names of all people of the state provided that they can show proof of their/their parents being present in the state before 1971, inabilty to do so would cause to stand trial before a Foreigners' Tribunal to prove their citizenship or face deportation. This exercise was fraught with allegations of xenophobia, with Bengali Hindus, Gorkhas (settled by the British from Nepal to serve in the army) & Austro-Asiatic tribals (settled by the British to work as labourers in tea gardens) being branded as illegal infiltrators alongside Bengali Muslims. Those who were unable to prove their citizenship ended up rounded in detention centres, eventually to be deported out, which at that time many in Europe & USA had compared with Nazi concentration camps. \nIt would be interesting to see whether this same Nazi analogy is drawn up in case of the Trump administration doing the same as what happened in India.

I am a Documented Legal Alien and married to an American citizen. I choose at this time to not apply for my citizenship as i dont want to have to apply to my own country of birth to enter again should i need to visit relatives there. However i have lived happily now for 20 years in the USA and have never looked back. We did our immigration LEGALLY and as much as i dislike D Trump. I do agree that undocumented Aliens who live here and married to an American' should not be here. We have the same issue in the United Kingdom and its far harder to deal with there, and there is an Ocean surrounding it. If you want to live here, learn the language, (English, even though America has no definitive chosen language) become a legal Immigrant and most of all contribute to America, its people etc and stop using it for your own selfish gains.

We can’t save the world ?… there is a process for migration ?…just as ancestors fought wars for democracy —the migrants ought to have gathered their millions and stood for their rights in their country. Their corrupt governments thrive because the “millions” that left did not fight and stay in their lands ?. It seems easier to escape. Unfair to the people that have waited months and years to come here, also those that could be waiting to legally arrive have contributions to the USA… a lot have not practiced “planned parenthood”~~culturally have large families and continue to make babies when they can’t even feed the ones they have ?. i agree with deporting illegal migrants, however cost of certain labour jobs will go up and the people will pay, these are good people who do hard work and it will be a rude awakening for americans if they’re all mass deported— i do think a Harris presidency overall would have been better. but only time will tell, i hope the level of discourse and overall temperature of the USA can remain calmer than previously seen. ❤??

Canada just reduced its legal immigration numbers to allow time for infrastructure to catch up , schools , hospitals , housing etc. I doubt Canada wants a pile of people due to USA issues knocking on the door.

Time for us to do the same. UK has been doing deportation. Other European countries have been doing it. It's time to stop the issues surrounding national security and defence. Part of National defense is defending it's boarders. Trump is finally going to be a firm president that will defend his boarders. We don't have to fear this. We need to follow suit and do the same. Rent has gone up, food costs, gas, medication. That's all we can afford. So more people out on the streets. At this time, there is a world wide immigrate problem causing more homelessness. We faced over millions from Mexico and NYC got immigrants from all over the world. The city is trashed. Ohio got thousands of Hattis people. Europe has immigrants from Africa and Asia. Our country and other countries have absolutely no infrastructure and funds to support these people. Ohio is asking for government assistance. The solution now is strict immigration laws and border laws. Everyone that is not a USA citizen must be sent back to their country. Visa cards. Passports. Hungary has the top security system (google) to keep immigrants out of the country. Worse. Thief and crime have skyrocketed! Everyone in NYC are robbing anyone they see and stores are\nclosing. They don't get arrested because anything under $1000 is not a criminal offense. The USA needs to get a grip! These people are asking for handouts, which means the USA poor will not get benefits. It is not just Canada. USA people are getting out of the cities! This is a world wide crisis. Say your prayers. We really need a savior to show up!

I have visited Vancouver before. What I have experienced that shocked me was one time when I used the public transportation (bus) which is clean and nice. Suddenly 3 drunk Indians came in. We’re so noisy and we’re ignoring and not following the driver’s instructions. I was really surprised to see this coz a lot of Indians that I see in other countries such as in New zealand and here in the USA are mostly nice and smart people.

My dad came to this country in the 80s; I was born here. I had a lovely childhood in the 90s and 2000s. My parents bought a house in suburban Toronto with just a high school education. They sent us to public school, which was perfectly good. I was looking forward to buying my own house, etc. I loved this country. Even back then, people were reticent about being too nationalistic. But I was PROUD to be Canadian even though my parents were not born here. I thought of myself as Canadian, I sang O Canada proudly, I celebrated Remembrance Day in a solemn way even as a child, and I would have died for the country if we had been at war. \n\nWell, not anymore. I don't recognize this country after years of Trudeau. I can never buy a house here, the cost of groceries is burdening me, and the younger people in my family can't even find part time jobs as students. People are increasingly rude, crime has me on edge, it's congested. Freedom of speech, which was taken for granted when I was very young, is dwindling away. Churches have been burnt, Trudeau has incited hatred against people who disagree with him. I'm actually moving to the USA to work there, so that will ease a lot of these issues. (I know it's not perfect down there, but having spent a lot of time there, I can see many things are better). But I'm sad. I'm sad for my family that still lives here. I'm sad that the country I once loved is gone.

I left Germany after a year working.\nReason:\n15%- Even though i learnt german, but still faced discrimanation sometimes due to colour. Due to discrimanation outsiders can never go up the ladder. In the USA, You would see many Indians as CEO, but in Germany its impossible.\n25% - Work is too slow. Many people remain on leave/holiday. Not just my office, bank and other gov work are also very slow.\n20% - Too many immigrants. its no more germany. school has almost 80% non german.\n10% - Dependency on trains, and trains are often delayed. Getting driving licence takes lot of time.\n5% - Cold weather\n5% - High taxes (but we get some benefits)\n5% - People are very closed. I wanted to help and talk to neighbour, but they were so cold to interact.\n5% - Away from home, never felt like home.\n5%- Doctor appointment, sply for kids is nightmare. \n5%- Drugs, beer, smokers everywhere. No culture.\n\nOthers find difficulty in finding house, but i got easily.\nNow some positive:\n\n50% - Too much time for yourself. But it goes in bringing grocery and housework.\n20% - Pure air and water... lot of greenery to go around.\n20% - connectivity and tourism to rest of europe.\n5% - Free schools, good open grounds.\n\n\nMy personal reason was spirituality is missing in Germany. I love india to be in a land where great sages and spiritual leaders stay. Materialistic gains will be lost a day, but spiritual gains continues with spirit.❤

sadly it was common before. luckily it is reasonably rare nowadays. It is common in the embassies of Asian countries. But 'First World Countries ' do the same. You even loose your monney. My friend applied 3 times for USA visa. Firts time it was canceled because it was 1 usd more paid for the fees. It happened because of exchange rates. It was more not less. The application was canceled for this reason. So Yes embassies love hassling people.

I'm pretty sure more will come but many will leave so on once they understood that their living standards aren't improving. I see lot of people are struggling and moving to Netherlands, Belgium and soon. Even with two income it's hard to survive in any EU countries. The main reason behind all this misery is lack of housing, tax, tax and more taxes. Netherland is also not a good at housing and taxes. European are not work hard becasue it will only result in more taxes and causes more misery. In EU majority of people choose to spent time with family and friends than earning more money. It is cultural difference between EU and rest of the world.\n\nImmigrants come to EU thinking of earning more fortune like Dubai or USA, so that they can send remittance back to home has just become a day dream. In reality these countries take half of your fortune in taxes and in return they give good water, clean air and almost peaceful life.

As an Indian, who is the highest income earning ethnicity in Germany like USA.. Yes I can say that people are good as I have many German friends and some directly judge me as per my face and clothes to look cool n all(but yes they respect us). And not only Germans but also other people from Western countries and Korea, Japan, Indonesia and some treat us differently. They say that we are talented people but have that old stereotype in them which I can read on many people's faces as soon as I see them. but I don't care. \n Apart from that, Germany has slow bureaucracy, long waiting times, no adjustments nd easy to go like us, canceled trains,less digital infra., and a language barrier. I work as a highly skilled professional in a Supply chain with so-so pay.

To retain talent in Germany, you need to offer something special. If you’re paying a top-level engineer the equivalent of a hairdresser’s wage, why would they stay unless they’ve developed deep connections with the community or environment? Friendships and relationships can be crucial factors in retaining talent.\n\nBut with this current pay structure, I’m really not sure what to say. If you put high educated people in a bad position, plenty of contries offering them higher life conditions. It is same for Germans, Germany creating very good engineers, doctors, etc and they are leaving the country.\n\nMaybe instead of creating making migration easier. It is aslo good idea to retain yours.

The main issue is and will be the German language. They are quite picky about it all the time. If skilled workers are getting a job which has a higher pay (higher working hours, uncertain market) in the USA, people don't mind taking it, learning a new language, high tax, kind of average salary is not going to appeal to a lot of people. Nowadays they want German language requirements for a software engineering job! People aren't open, really old and slow daily life, too much paper work, the list goes on....
