You know I’ve been killing myself working non stop for like a decade trying to hold it all together because of all the increased prices of everything. As a result I have not been paying attention. I know the tariff thing was happening, but didn’t know why this was a thing. \n\nShame on me for not being more up to date. \n\nI also know nothing about Trudeau or his political stance on literally anything aside from what he talked about in this video. \n\nI must say this was of speaking is EXACTLY what I expect from a world leader. Everything was delivered very well and without personal emotions. He’s not going off the cuff and saying whatever pops into his head. THIS is the exact style of communication we need from world leaders. I don’t see how it helps anyone, anywhere in the world to have people in control of nuclear armed nations to be shooting from the hip with communication.

Time to deal Trudeau. This country was built on tariffs. We’re done subsidizing.

The US will be the big loser. Countries that impose tariffs are shooting themselves in the foot. The only thing Trudeau got wrong was calling Donald a smart guy. Bully yes, smart, no.

Trudeau is an idiot, his words don't matter. If he does not want tariffs he should drop tariffs on America's products. Really simple. The fact that he's resigning means he doesn't even have a say.

Trudeau does not represent Canadians. He has had a minority government for years. Trudeau was finally forced to resign months ago. He should not be speaking on our behalf. He suspended parliament and refuses to call an election. No decision / agreement can be made re. Tariffs, etc. because technically we have no leadership right now. Tariffs have been threaten for months, and the Liberals have made no moves to do what’s right for Canada. He is using this as an opportunity to regqin power. He is not a man of the people.

Im sorry Mr Trudeau, im sorry Canadian people. This American voted against this madness, and I do not support this ally of the evil of the world that is currently occupying the white House. This executive branch of the US government, along with the propaganda machine are fueling the supporters of this nonsense and they may not be able to determine the trauma that decisions like these tariffs, like putting down a great leader of a sovereign nation that was attacked by an aggressive country like Russia. This is going to do nothing but hurt people on every side.

You wanna work “with” us because you can’t afford our tariffs I stand with President Donald Trump it’s not our job to make sure your economy can thrive that’s is why we are separate countries. A tariff is a tax on Americans. Trump is planning on using those tariff dollars to help offset the actual tax cut for the billionaires. Tuck Frump. Resist the ignorant fool.

It would have been better to call the move “ill-advised”. Referring to POTUS by first name and saying it was “dumb” is just going to provoke DJT who everyone, fans and critics alike, knows is vain and does not have the humility to accept insults. It’s Trudeau breaking shtuff on his way out. He doesn’t have the mandate to put us in a worse position; he is being selfish, I think, in taking an unnecessary low-brow jab. Calling it ill-advised or similar gives Trump an out, to pass the buck to Lutnik when it becomes apparent that this tariff idea is a steaming pile for everyone involved.

Pls don't get me wrong. I love my president right or wrong. But Trudeau makes a very compelling point. This is not the smartest thing to be doing with these tariffs. Someone pls correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the reason President Trump brought the imposition of tariffs on Canada and Mexico in the 1st place was for them to do more about stopping the flow of Phentenol (excuse if spelling is wrong) into our country. I thought both countries have stepped up to do just that already. No? If so then why continue with this stupidness?

Trudeau is hated by Canadians. He is no hero. These tariffs make Trump look stupid. Isn't that what Trudeau was saying by calling it a dumb thing to do? It is time for Trudeau to actually resign and leave politics for good.

Of all the tariffs Canada imposes, Canadians will never see a dime of it and our deficit, will never decrease. Trudeau is the cause for all the taxes and crimes here in Canada. He is a moron and money wasting child.

I do not know if tariffs or Trump's actions are the correct thing to do. But why can't the USA do 25% tariffs, if Canada has 65% tariffs on the USA? Why is Canada demanding the USA support them? Someone please explain it to me. And Trudeau could have picked up the phone and called Trump, this speech was not meant to solve anything. Kudos to the PM Trudeau for speaking out against Trump tariffs. Mr. Trudeau sees what the Trump voters fail to see prior to the elections. Trump is using the excuse of stopping drugs coming into the country. When in reality his tariffs will only benefit corporations. These tariffs will be passed down to the consumers who will pay for them. If everyone who voted for Trump weren't deaf and blind we would not have to now worry more about inflation and higher prices. I'm somewhat confused though. Canadians have been suffering under high prices for years now and Trudeau never did anything to combat this. Now we want to speak up against the tariffs which is an additional price burden on top of existing outrageous costs. If we solve for tariffs, whats the plan to solve for the ridiculously high living costs.
