I AM CANADIAN. And sad to say I and my family were Trump supporters through halfway through his first term. The BS and blantent vugar talk from his mouth and now criminal conviction was enough. But now that I see Elon Musk , Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezzos and other billionaires in his shady corner I knew something wasnt right! And after how President Zelenskyy was treated, disgusting right for the news to see on purpose. Your President is way too close to Putin and who knows what other countries. Trump, and his cronies want the spoils and treasures of Canada, Mexico, Ukraine and Gazza! BTW Trump your welcome from Canada ?? for helping putting out your fires in California! But, then again we know you wont thank Canada! Hey Americans Canada ?? loves you! Alot of great history together! Lets not let trump and his cronies divide us!

Canada has known for decades that we have put too many eggs in one basket - selling our resources primarily to the USA. We've had tariffs before and worked with them. Yet we still keep selling to the USA. This time is different. In conjunction with the tariffs, we have an American administration that is flat out insulting Canada. Saying we wouldn't exist economically if it wasn't for the USA. It's at a time when the USA won't promise not to use military force to annex land (Greenland) from a decades old ally. A time when clearly Putin is calling in his chips for whatever he has over Donald Trump. Canadians have had enough. We are directing our governments, provincial and federal, to finally, finally break from the north-south trade links. We need to establish stronger east-west trade links. The resources we have are wanted by many countries if the USA does not want them. It does mean much work within Canada. We need to get our AB-BC pipeline finished as well as the new sea terminal so we can ship our crude oil and natural gas to Japan and if need be, to China. We finally need to get out pipeline to the Atlantic coast finished so we can supply the UK and EU with our products. We need to double our rail capacity for shipping potash, uranium, rare minerals to Asia or Europe. Just as Trump hopes for a golden age of American companies coming home and building new plants in the USA, this will be a golden decade for Canada to create transportation corridors to get our resources to other buyers. America will have to look elsewhere for his raw materials. And we all know what that is - RUSSIA. They've already offered their rare minerals and crude oil. This is all clearly a well thought out scenario from the people working behind Trump to dismiss America's allies and trading partners - have us turn against the USA - as the excuse to open the door to Russian imports into the USA.

From an American citizen, GIVE TRUMP HELL CANADA!!! Please make new trade partners and new alliances. Cut the US out and off completely. This is going to hurt Americans very badly, as you say. I would not want to live down there with the pervasive American attitude. I thought my American friends were lovely people, but then we went to a restaurant together. I was flabberghasted by how they ALL spoke down to the waitress, as if she was beneath them. You can pick out the American tourists here, by how they talk to service people. Force Trump to declare a side! And make him choose Putin or democracy NOW!! If you fail to do that, you are taking the path of accommodation, and if Trump is really a tyrant (which he surely is, because of MANY evidences!!), democratic countries weaken their position by not standing strong NOW. If Europe and Canada and Mexico ban Tesla imports and place 50% tariffs on tens of billions of dollars of American products, what would happen? Are these countries AFRAID of the United States? This is not the time for fear! This is the time for courage! Boycott!!!

I loved the speech of PM Trudeau- but one thing he kept saying is wrong. Our government did not do this - One man did this via executive orders. He does not care who he hurts. As an American, I want to add my voice to those of other Americans who stand in support of Canada, the EU and Ukraine. Our current occupant of the Oval Office is an embarrassment to those of us who are true patriots. Let the trolls say what they will to express their ignorance, for who in their right mind can support this turncoat.

President Trudeau, don't worry, all Americans I have seen say they don't want this either, but they understand your response and they commend you for it. So don't feel guilty for doing your job.

As a South African, I want to say that this trade war, as well as the hostile approach of Trump towards Canada, is devastating. If one were not experiencing it directly, it would be almost impossible to believe. This is such a remarkable speech that it will go down in history as one of the truly great speeches in times of crisis. It is entirely correct to address the American and Canadian peoples directly, as the Prime Minister has done. They are both clear victims of this madness, Americans misled, and Canadians the target, of this senseless trade war. If one reads History, there is another dimension to this, and I hate to say it. Canadians have to prepare themselves for worse. These types of antics by the aggressor usually involve, finger pointing, contrived border incidents, plausibly deniable incursions and other actions, by the aggressor, which one can find if the preludes to the WW1 and WW2 are studied. I am not sure if you have porcupines in Canada, but you need to rapidly become one.

As an American, I want to say that I have never seen a more toxic administration in my life. Not only are they hurting Americans but they are hurting Americas longstanding allies. This will not end well for us as Americans. This both hurts me and scares me. It’s sad that there are Americans that think this administration is doing a good job. God bless us all!?

Inflation is to the roof, Make food and housing affordable, please people just help impeach him, he is golfing while the american people are struggling everyday.... He is just trying to pass stupid laws that keep getting blocked by courts, Come on Trump supporters try helping fix it by calling your local office and impeach him, I bet anyone else is better than Trump, we know the country needs changes but we are still the biggest economy of the world the richest country, Why do we have to feel like is normal not to have affordable food and housing?? The basics of life... All the immigrants are gone, They even left by their own will, and Some Americans left to other countries, Mexico, Europe, Asia..... What do you guys want?? This American wants to say: I'm sorry. Most of us do not want this madness or any bad blood with our neighbors to the north...or even the south. But, many Americans voted for the Orange dipsh*t so...again, most of us are sorry about this.

We have been asking for years. Take a good look at the city’s and the numbers of family’s kids and adults have died yearly from this.100,000s have died a year. Lives and family’s have been destroyed and the crime that has come with it. We have been asking for years now they claim they are helping. We need to depend on Americans and America more this can be good for us more Americans buying and selling to Americans. All these countries have gotten the better deal with us for years. Now we want the better deal.Our tax dollars have gone to all these other countries now we say no more and everyone is anti American.

Say what you want about Donald Trump, at least he’s never seized/frozen American citizens bank accounts for going on strike. Can’t say the same for socialist dictator Trudeau. ?‍♂️
