I actually like Indian folks, but there are simply too many of them in western countries and there is no sign of the flood stopping, there is essentially an infinite amount of them. In the US they have become the second-largest immigrant group in many states. Big business/globalists like them for cheap labor and demographic change, and their fellow Indians of course support them out of ethnic/cultural loyalty. Canada with its small population has been completely overrun in just a handful of years by both them and the Chinese. Same thing in Australia.

There’s simply too much money involved. Believe it or not, Western adversaries have found this as a way to weaken the West. Most people don’t see it, but that’s exactly what’s happening. As a Southeast Asian, I can understand why countries like the United States, Canada, or those in Europe are concerned about immigration levels. Wanting to prevent any single immigrant group from becoming disproportionately large is not necessarily about racism, but about maintaining social balance and protecting opportunities for the local population. Many Asian countries feel the same way—we would not want large numbers of foreigners, whether Russian, American, or from elsewhere, to migrate in such a way that they dominate job markets or significantly alter the local social structure. This perspective applies universally, not just in Western countries. From this viewpoint, it seems reasonable for countries to manage immigration by maintaining a balance between native citizens and immigrants. Setting limits or proportions for different immigrant groups can be seen as a way to preserve social stability while still allowing controlled and fair immigration.

Yeah as a Canadian who lives in the Greater Toronto Area, I can appreciate how immigration as a concept is good. But Canada is at a point now where a large influx of immigrants are shocking our economy and dropping our quality of life. And the majority of these immigrants come from one country. No hate to India, as a half Indian myself, but when you bring these people over in droves, they feel it unnecessary to assimilate as they all coalesce with each other - where they feel comfortable. So you have the majority of them who don't speak our language, who don't carry our values, and don't feel that any of it is required. And it makes you feel, as a Canadian like you're being taken over. We want a lower immigration rate, and we want a greater spread of people from across the world. I don't want Canada to become India.

Usually when you're colonized it's by a superior race or culture lol this is the opposite of that. Even 30 years ago Brampton was known as Bramladesh. However in the 80's and 90's the Indians that immigrated here were great and for the most part fit in and their kids became great Canadians who contributed to the country. I'd honestly prefer Indians over Middle Easterners. Hindus and Sikhs aren't proselytizers and generally have a much more mellow religious vibe, unlike Muslims. Plus, Indian food is the shit, I dig curry and samosas. The thing you really have to be careful of, as is the situation with any instance of mass migration, is to be aware if newcomers are taking advantage of Western social assistance programs, like the Somalis have done with the welfare system. They need to understand that to be welcomed as new Americans, they have to work. Indians have proven to be industrious through hotels and convenience shops. I'd prefer them to Middle Easterners or certain cultures of Africans. That all being said, they should also come to understand that, having moved to a modern country, there's very little point in having massive families with ten kids. No need to endlessly spawn more people to help with chores like water fetching when you have indoor plumbing. The answer is economics, specifically capitalism and the welfare state. In order for capitalism to function the best for asset owners, the economy must continue to grow. Company revenues, stock prices, home prices, assets in general. Also, the welfare state needs to have more younger workers paying into the system to cover welfare services for the elderly retired population. Back in the 1950s, economists in Western countries realized their population demographics were inverting. Meaning, the elderly population was growing while the younger population growth rate was slowing down. This is the natural outcome of a wealthy educated society—the elderly live longer due to better healthcare and living conditions, and women tend to have fewer children as they spend more time in school and pursue a career, also families need fewer children compared to poor agrarian societies for various reasons. As such, these economists advised the politicians to increase immigration. This was the way to get more workers in your country to prevent a slow deflationary spiral by increasing consumption, and increase the tax base. Bonus if you bring in STEM workers as economies are becoming more dependent on tech. Anyway that's your answer.

Respect to the indian man who came as an RN and understood the problems with not working hard. As an Indian living in India, I’d say it was your country’s government’s problem and mistake, similar to what the UK is doing now. Aside from government or policies, Indians immigrating to Canada is something that dates back to the British era, when Britain sent a group of Indians, specifically Sikhs, for security or labor work in Canada. This started the trend of Sikhs (turban-wearing ones) moving there. In modern times, the West was richer in terms of education and infra compared to Asia, which attracted many normal students and families immigrants also. Canada and America were built by immigrants, but now things are saturated, which I understand, and that’s where the resentment comes from. The majority Sikh state ( punjab) in India is still behind in development and job wise cooperation, and the historical pattern from the British era of moving to Canada for a better life has become a norm for many young people there. The close, collaborative nature of Sikhs—like a cousin in Canada inviting another cousin from India to come over, open a shop, work together, or share housing—is another reason many don’t hesitate to immigrate. These are some of the reasons behind mass immigration from India. Now, with saturation, the resentment toward immigration has grown. India itself faces issues with immigrants who live off our taxes, take rights meant for native children, and abuse policies, laws, or the environment. At least Canada has better-off immigrants—educated and contributing to the economy. While some may depend on taxes, most are hardworking and self-sufficient; otherwise, Canada’s economy would have collapsed by now. To be clear the only reason we have immigration is because we don't make enough of our own babies. there are a number of other considerations that would restrict immigration. a sovereign country has a right to determine when, how many, from where and why they accept people from other parts of the world to become citizens of their country. I was the lawyer invited to this interview, and after reading some comments celebrating the end of the PEQ, I feel the need to clarify a few things. The people affected by this are not “abusing the system.” this was the program for people that came here legally and are working. To qualify for the PEQ, they had to be working full time, they pay taxes, they speak the language. They’re fixing our roads, keeping hospitals running, welding, machining, doing the jobs most of us take for granted every single day. The hard truth is that Canadians have stopped having enough children, and we simply don’t have enough young people with the skills to fill these roles. Yes, we absolutely should invest more in education and trade programs for our youth — my employer clients are begging young people to become mechanics, welders, skilled workers, often in the regions. Most don’t take those jobs, and even when they do, training takes two to three years. Our industries need people now, or parts of the economy will stall, and that affects all of us as Quebecers and Canadians. These workers are not asking for charity. They are already on the front lines keeping key sectors alive. Ending programs like the PEQ doesn’t punish “illegals” or “free riders”; it punishes people who are already integrated, working, and contributing to the society we all share. Also, all they are asking is for the new rules to not be applied to them retroactively, only for those coming new into the country, otherwise it is rug pulling those already here that played by the rules, and when the government does it to us we don't like, on principle of fairness, whatever you think of the numbers, too high too low, doesn't matters, it is the least we can all get behind as humans.
