I am a canadian and half my family live in the US... we are not enemies but I am not alone in fearing what America is becoming and the direction it is taking in trade , geo politics and governing philosophy. \nthe people behind project 2025 are not rational old conservatives harking back to a by gone era, they are christian fundementalists enacting a plan to bring about the transformation of the US into a full blown christian theocracy. I am beginning to like Trump's idea of Canada becoming part of the US. So that we could have the Prime Minister as the leader of the great America, and we get rid of the president and presidency altogether.

Canadian here. We helped America in 1980 by saving American diplomatic staff from captivity in Tehran. We suffered the loss of Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan. This is how we are paid back. As a European, it's a pitty I'm not in America anymore. I'm very curious what the American citizens think about this. This will have a negative effect on the entire world. Maybe they are planning something. Trump once remarked that Canada could become the U.S.'s 51st state, so perhaps he was considering a strategy to weaken the country as part of a long-term plan. He might have been looking for a justification to assert control over Canada. Additionally, his strategic support for Putin raises concerns. Trump also once suggested renaming the 'Gulf of Mexico' to the 'Gulf of America.' Considering all this, could we be on the brink of World War III?

The USA can produce more of our own oil than we can use, and we will sell the extra to YOUR foreign customers cheaper than you can produce it. Then you will be BEGGING for a pipeline. So Trump invited Canada to become a member of the most successful and powerful union of sovereign states in history, something that even our own territories of Guam, Puerto Rico, and all the others do not have. An invitation to be a bona fide member. Why do you think that is? Minerals? The USA has all the minerals we need. We have more oil, coal, and natural gas than any nation also, and we can produce and refine it cheaper than any country can. So Canada was invited to become a state so Trump could peacefully eject the ChiComs from North America. And did you accept? No. Did you say no thank you? But when Canada, Mexico, and other countries build alternate trade infrastructure and strike deals that exclude America, this becomes near irreversible and will hurt America's economy well after Trumps term. Trump wants to sow discord between the people of Canada and the people of America, aiming to make them hate each other, so that he can then attack Canada and seize it. Trump admires Putin because, like Putin, he believes that the strong can do whatever they want, while the weak must obey! But what else would you expect from a country where slavery was once considered normal, from a country that exterminated millions or even billions of Indigenous people just to take their land? Of course, over time, things have changed — people have become smarter and started to value life — but Trump belongs to that ancient caste of Americans whose IQ is around 20–50...

The only thing Canada has that the United States depends on is their energy for the Northern US. Trump has slashed regulations and opened land for American companies to start drilling and providing their own energy to the US. They decided against it for record profits. This will for e them to start drilling in the US by making it cheaper than getting energy from Canada. This has nothing to do with Russia. If it did, the US could get all the cheap oil and natural gas as he wants. Putin would give it to the US for free. Trump could careless about Russia or Putin. I see this as nothing less than Trump wanting to do to Canada a slightly more palatable version of what Putin is doing to Ukraine. Trump has openly said he wants Canada to become the 51st state, even though this is a huge ask as Canada has a population larger than any US state (California is close in population size), Canada has a land mass nearly the size of the US and, including water mass, Canada has a larger overall area than the US. Trump also wants Iceland to be owned by America. He has become power crazy during a war because this is his only chance to stoke his ego to undreamable levels. Trump wants to be America's Putin.
