As a Canadian-born Indian myself, I truly hate how Canada has become. i cant even go to school without Indian international students being so loud and obnoxious. these indians make us look so bad, it's terrible. They don't even bother to learn proper manners; it's disgusting.

Recent Growth Trends (2022–2026) While the official 2026 Census data is not yet available, current local indicators point to a sustained increase in the Indian community: Rebounding Population: Mayor Michelle Boileau noted in 2024 that Timmins' population has reached its highest levels in over a decade due to immigration and industry opportunities. Newcomers: Since 2021, over 700 newcomers have arrived in Timmins through programs like the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP). Cultural Infrastructure: The growth of the community led to the establishment of the city's first Sikh temple to serve the expanding Sikh and Indian resident base. Every metric that made our Canadian lives great is being destroyed by mass immigration. All international students are required to provide documents and statement letters in their student visa applications to prove that they intend to return to their home countries after their studies. The only thing that is expected (not guaranteed in any way) is a post-graduation work permit to give them a chance to acquire Canadian work experience and have enough points to apply for permanent residency if they choose to. The government should only be responsible for those who were already selected and approved for residency before changes to the regulations. All future applicants should be evaluated based on the latest changes. That is not new, and all current immigrant citizens had to adapt to the changes to requirements back in their time as well.

This feels 6-8 years too late, You could even argue it as far back as 2010. We should've never kept our numbers at such high of a % of our population, it should've always been focused industries only such as agriculture. Instead our business model is basically : Cheap Labour via Worker Visas, Housing Market due to quick and massive population boost and Student Visas making them pay 3.5x more than regular students that encourages post-secondary schools to choose international over domestic which may also have long-term consequences as we see many immigrants go back to their home or take their degree to a higher paying nation.

Deportation is always expensive. Using the numbers in this video, it's over $4k per deportee. The real problem is that too many are let into Canada in the first place. As well, it sounds like they are mainly going after refugee claimants, but there are similarly large, if not larger, numbers of TFWs and international "students" (who are not really students) with expired visas.

Refugees to Canada is a bit of a sham, the international law that Canada is obligated to follow requires claimant to make claim in the first safe country. We can't solve the problems in other countries, or the world, by simply opening our borders to all. A large percentage of refugee claimants are fleeing economic poverty, not political persecution. Its unfortunate that Trudeaus promises/actions have compounded our problems and are costing us a great deal in deportation management, but the alternative would be much worse. Lets change the system for the better, and develop ways to increase our birthrates internally.

I think Canada has more than done its part forever, it's time for other countries to step up also. I trust the new immigrations rules are consistent with international human rights standards as well as what's best for Canada.

There never was a clear path to permanent residency, hence the term "temporary foreign worker" and "international student program." Permanent residency was simply something these immigrant classes hoped for but were never promised. Quebec saw that these programs were being abused as backdoor efforts to gain permanent residency and have shut tte loopholes. The Canadisn Government should follow suit.

I actually met someone who fits the description, came here through a international student program, he left that program from BC then came to Alberta and started work in forestry. He ended up getting fired due to him lying about his experience with computers and no back ground in forestry.

This isn't just Indian-specific, I have seen many African students do the same. Not all, but many of these international students from developing countries are just enrolling on degrees in western countries with no interest in studying or completing the degree, just to get entry into the country. They then either drop out after registering or first semester and or work illegally and send money back home. Governments focus too much on capping work and other visas paying little attention to the obvious backdoor routes student visas provide.
