We can thank the Liberal party and J.T for letting in way too many immigrants since 2017. He solidified many votes for te liberals by doing so. It wasnt to help Canada grow. It was to help the Liberal Party grow.

Let call it what it is. The government didn't increase immigration it increase refugee. There are so many people trying to come into the country with education and wealth who are denied. The government let people with no education and no wealth into this country. We are doomed

I was born here in Canada in 1969 and since Justin Trudeau took over as our government, everything just went downhill. I also very upset with our government bringing in millions of Immigrants and giving large handouts of of our Canadian tax dollars to support the new immigrants that our coming into Canada. Why is the government giving large hand outs to these Indian immigrants instead of helping us true Canadians who helped built this Country. It is a dam shame to see what the Liberal Government our doing to this country of ours were many are homeless, high cost of living and the high crimes that happens every day in Canada and what does the government do is let these criminals back into our streets where us true Canadians do not feel safe any more. The one thing that pisses me off is seeing is all these new immigrants coming into Canada by the thousands that are taking away our Canadian entry jobs like Walmart, McDonalds and A & W fast food restaurant where as our young born Canadian students and others can not find a job to help them pay for there school loans and get a good education degree. We need to put a stop to this. For enough is enough before our Liberal Government destroys our country.

Well.. Arguably Nova Scotia had the advantage of being a eastern port with the potential to be greater GDP than Manhattan. Many people blame its zero or negative growth on restrictive immigration policy, whereas the USA pretty much just let everyone in. If you add in our more studious teenagers, truly reformed felons, and immigrants who actually deserve a gold card, that number plummets to less than 25%. I won't ask people to wake up, if you are reading this you are already more than capable of finding out that I speak only the hard truth. This means less than a quarter of america wanted this. This means your vote and opinions DO count. I know it is incredibly difficult to reach for and find answers in a world where your president or primary candidate throws 'fake news' in your face on a regular basis. He is actually telling the truth. When he is not telling you is that he is a primary enabler of 'fake news'. To him, only his word is law, only his opinion matters, only he deserves to be on top, and he deserves authority over all of your lives. Do the right thing, we all have a civil duty to understand our candidates to the very best of our ability. When a man has been convicted of dozens of felonies, and we tell you that this is only what we were willing to expose. You may want start believing us. The genuine facts of his past are unilaterally corrupting to our children and good people alike. Do not let the american people repeat their mistakes, force Mr. Trump to atone for his mistakes. No not empower him to sweep them under the rug for the sake of his own arrogance, because that is exactly what he is doing by trying to dismantle the CIA and FBI. These two institutions are shining examples of America's pursuit of freedom and justice. Freedom to keep billionaires from corrupting the morals of our children. Freedom to know that the rule of law is immutable, our constitution is not just a paper with fancy traditional sentiment. Even if the law may sometimes be bent for the sake of decency, forgiveness, and the pursuit of 'united we stand', our constitution cannot. Amendments require the FULL support of nearly all Americans, not 27.5% of unrestricted adults.

Many people seem shocked that the US is acting this way towards its “closest ally.” Let’s not forget that in the days and weeks following 9/11, when a town like Gander, Newfoundland took in thousands of Americans when airplanes were grounded, the US was initially blaming Canada for its lax border and immigration laws in allowing terrorists into the US. I'm usually reasonable enough to realize that while I may disagree with many policy decisions, there's usually a relatively coherent line of thought to back said actions up. The problem here is that there’s no clear logic behind using tariffs as a tool to curb fentanyl trafficking or immigration. I'm not going to speak on the issue of immigration at the Canadian border because there simply is none. Yes, there are illegals from Canada, but almost 100% of them are from overstaying visas rather than crossing the border unlawfully. So let's talk about fentanyl. \n\nMost fentanyl in the US originates from China, often in precursor form, and is then processed in Mexico before being smuggled into the states. But it's typically trafficked in small, high potency quantities, often hidden in legitimate shipments or through mail, and only on very rare occasions is it being brought in by individuals crossing the border. It has _never_ been documented to have shipped in as part of large scale commercial imports, so a 25% tariff on legal trade with Canada and Mexico doesn’t directly target the black market supply chain at all.\n\nIf we take Trump’s reasoning at face value, the argument seems to be that he wants to exert economic pressure on Mexico and Canada as a means of having them crack down harder on drug trafficking networks. But the issue is that fentanyl simply isn’t coming in through mass import channels, so all this looks like is a punitive measure without a clear mechanism to actually achieve its stated goal. And the implications? Drastically higher costs for consumers in the US, Canada, and Mexico, with absolutely nothing to show for it.

He said he WOULD resign once a new leader was picked through a democratic process. Right now, he's basically just doing photo ops in Ukraine, UK and anywhere else on our dime because Parliament is prorogued and the party in power, Liberal, is having a leadership race. So, while he may resign within the week once that leadership race is done, he's still technically in charge.\n\nWhat makes that race and the PM's prorogation so bad is that we're in the middle of a crisis - several actually - caused in part directly by Trudeau and his Liberals (and the NDP supporting them). The latest would be Trump's tariffs starting today, March 4, 2025. Trudeau always disappears during a crisis, leaving us to fend for ourselves - (1) COVID, he was at the cottage using every excuse not to be accountable for anything or using unconstitutional powers to crush a protest he didn't know how to handle, (2) Chinese spies, he's ignoring our intelligence service, (3) federal worker strike, he's in NYC at some gala.... In case anyone is wondering why so many Indians are trying to flee Canada here it is. Under Trudeau and the liberal government Canada was basically giving a free pass to anyone who wants to come to Canada through colleges and universities, if you get into a Canadian school, you can get a study permit (which also allows you to work for 20h a week). Additionally after the schooling you are given a guaranteed work permit for the same duration as the schooling (if you went to school 2 years you get a 2 year permit, 4 years you get a 4 year permit, ect.) A Canada and immigration agencies (for some reason) basically advertised this to India as a guaranteed way to get permanent residence in Canada. Canadians hated the massive flood of people coming into Canada (about a million a year at its peak, which for a smaller country like canada is equivalent to 10 million people coming into the USA every year). This is really unpopular with voters of course (in part because of the housing, food, and low skill work shortages it created), and the next Canadian election is this year. So the conservative government has vowed to massivly decrease the number of immigrants coming into Canada and the Liberal government knowing that this can be used against them in the next election is decreasing the amount of PR cards they are given (like a Canadian green card) as well as the people they are letting in in total. Now as the (mostly Indian) immigrants work permits expire and they will soon be kicked out of the country or no longer legally be allowed to work, they are fleeing to NYC to try to take advantage of the sanctuary city (something that does not exist in Canada).

Let me take your story further. There been a number of suicides amongst Indian students, some have been hooked on drugs, some girls have turned to prostitution and many girls have been sexually take advantage by their Indian / Punjabi landlords and employers. The situation is dire. My advice: Stay in India, the education is better, the social life is better, the food is better, the vibe is better. Money is not everything. Being happy is. Canada has cleaner air, water & streets but the cost is very high. It's a struggle not just for immigrants or students, it's hard for locals. To buy an average detached home (bungalow) in Toronto / Vancouver is over C$1 million. To qualify for a mortgage with 20% down payment, one would need an income of $200,000. FYI, that's a doctors salary.

Immigrants are young people usually. These are persons who do not go to doctor often, let alone do surgery. I really doubt they can be a burden for social net. In many countries immigrants pay much more taxes than whey receive back in government spending.

Lets keep i real. The desire that most immigrants have is homeostasis which is the familiar. All humans do this. Individually indians are usually smart and decent people. That was an excellent news report and puts some light on the real situation . I do feel sorry for those who were under temporary protection orders that should have just applied for citizenship as soon as possible and the majority would have got it . Many of these people were let down by the Biden administration , their community leaders and immigration advisors that should have helped and encouraged them to apply , but alas now it's too late . I know a bit about this kind of thing because my Mother and Father lied to me as a child and told me I was a citizen when I was not . I only found out when I joined the Army and they picked it up . Even 1% rejection on 100k Indian visas is a 1000 rejected visas. While a less populous country may have 10% rejection out of 1000 visas which is 100 rejections. So, in % terms, India fare well despite having higher rejections.\nFiring shots at Kosovo, Cuba and B Faso is a cheap shot and unnecessary to push the point of passport rank. All countries have a right to determine who they allow into their country with lower restrictions. And they are under no obligation to open the gates to anyone. It is also common knowledge that the newer cohorts of Indian immigrants to the West are a bad representation of Indian society (best example - Canada). Hence the rising anti Indian Immigration stance. Immigration is a privilege and not a right.
