Speaking as an American in the Detroit area, we are sorry this is happening! Contrary to what the Trump administration is saying, the majority of Americans DID NOT vote for him or this utter BS. We are watching in horror. We know Canada, Mexico and Europe are our friends and allies, no matter what spin Trump spews out

Oh course anti-Conservative, anti-President Trump, Liberal extremist, media outlets, politicians and supporters will paint this as a negative, as wrong, as bad etc. \n\nThey all are against President Trump and will do everything within their power to attack him and anything this administration enforces and support ANYTHING or ANYONE regardless if they are illegal aliens, Liberal politicians that embezzle and launder money to Zelenskyy that has received hundreds of billions of dollars to fight his losing war. \n\nIt’s pretty clear by their actions and reactions they careless about American citizens and are taking their Anti-America tactics to a whole new level.

I maybe an ignorant on politics , but what happens when USA , well not USA but the Trump administrations has caused so much damage to the country to the point where other maybe most of his allies start taking responses such as that of Canada , and escalate to the point where perhaps USA lose most of his allies at least important allies such as Canada, the support of the global geopolitics , I Maine that scenario for a moment wouldn't that give Trump an excuse to align even more openly with Putin? I mean why would Trump want that at all who knows but he is certainly aligning with Russia just not openly at least that's what a lot of these decisions he has made recently seem to suggest I mean a lot of the consequences of those decisions and acting really seem to benefit someones agenda and to me a politics ignorant seems to be Putin ... I'm an American and support the actions Canadians are taking to secure the border between Canada and the United States. I did not vote for Trump this time but to my disappointment he won the election and now we have to deal with him his administration and the issues he is causing. I only pray we will make it through this.

I think these tariffs/only America and America first policies will be the downfall of Trumps administration and the US economy/influence around the world. We are only driving allies away while bringing inflation/pain to our people. If DOGE isn’t enough to save our debt crisis, this is the start of the end of the US's #1 standing in the world.

From Belgium; Now this is a leader worth respecting. \nI hope Donald gets put in his place, whether he stops making enemies out of friends all around the world, instead of doubling down making this worse for everyone. \nOr gets stopped by the american people that stand up against him, united with allies their population worldwide, to hold higher morals then the absolute lack thereof asserted by the current Trump administration.

Trump's goal is to start an actual war with anyone who'll have it, including our closest neighbors and allies. The reason is that wartime presidents have more power and he doesn't care who stands in his way. He's going to use that power to detain journalists and jail political opponents ahead of the midterms claiming them to be traitors, then he's going to set himself up to run for a third term. If he succeeds, he'll have total control. Democratic leaders will be in jail, journalists will be silenced, and the national guard will forcefully search your home for any second amendments you might have lying around as they deliver our ballots at gunpoint. How do I know? Because that's what tyrants do. The US is in the midst of a political coupe and it's imperative that the situation be viewed from that paradigm. Drop any pretense that this administration is anyone's ally, they're not. They're a rogue administration attempting to seize total control of the US.

Both alcoholism and drug abuse was up under the trump administration during the pandemic. The fentanyl epidemic is due to buyers using fentanyl not to gangs selling fentanyl. I didn't vote for Trump - all three times. Unfortunately, more than half of my countryman were either too stupid and/or too racist. The first Trump administration was not good. I fear that this time, it will be worse. Keep up the good fight, Canada!

Its time to Impeach Donald Trump and his entire administration.

Canada should do everything in its power to reduce its dependence on the USA for trade and security to protect itself from a Trump administration gone crazy. There is a chance that the current policies of the Trump administration will be carried forward by future Republican presidents given how the party is now dominated by MAGA people. We all need to consider the possibility that the USA will not be going back to normal anytime soon.

Have just watched “Newsnight” in the U.K. where Melanie Joli was being interviewed. One very very impressive lady - she didn’t pull any punches and said just how it is. Canada is the only country to have the guts to say the truth about the current U.S. administration. Let’s hope more countries have the guts to stand up to Trump.

I have to confess I don´t know much about the actual canadian politics. But this reaction of Mr. Trudreau was very impressive. As a german European I know we are together in this completely insane situation initalised by the pathetic performance of the Trump administration. But with Canada on our side, with a strong leader as Trudeau I´m optimistic that the european leaders will also unite and focus not on their differences but on the common interest to stop this destructive US Goverment from destroying the free western society.

Canadian people, please, please stop buying American products, cancel subscription for Netflix and other platforms, encourage Canadians businesses. I stand with Canada. Mr. Trump is a traitorous poison working for all intent and purposes for Vladimir Putin and as such, he is a major threat to the national security to this country, Canada, Europe and the world. He and his criminal administration must be removed before they cause the collapse of the west.

Canada has known for decades that we have put too many eggs in one basket - selling our resources primarily to the USA. We've had tariffs before and worked with them. Yet we still keep selling to the USA. This time is different. In conjunction with the tariffs, we have an American administration that is flat out insulting Canada. Saying we wouldn't exist economically if it wasn't for the USA. It's at a time when the USA won't promise not to use military force to annex land (Greenland) from a decades old ally. A time when clearly Putin is calling in his chips for whatever he has over Donald Trump. Canadians have had enough. We are directing our governments, provincial and federal, to finally, finally break from the north-south trade links. We need to establish stronger east-west trade links. The resources we have are wanted by many countries if the USA does not want them. It does mean much work within Canada. We need to get our AB-BC pipeline finished as well as the new sea terminal so we can ship our crude oil and natural gas to Japan and if need be, to China. We finally need to get out pipeline to the Atlantic coast finished so we can supply the UK and EU with our products. We need to double our rail capacity for shipping potash, uranium, rare minerals to Asia or Europe. Just as Trump hopes for a golden age of American companies coming home and building new plants in the USA, this will be a golden decade for Canada to create transportation corridors to get our resources to other buyers. America will have to look elsewhere for his raw materials. And we all know what that is - RUSSIA. They've already offered their rare minerals and crude oil. This is all clearly a well thought out scenario from the people working behind Trump to dismiss America's allies and trading partners - have us turn against the USA - as the excuse to open the door to Russian imports into the USA.
