I have to confess I don´t know much about the actual canadian politics. But this reaction of Mr. Trudreau was very impressive. As a german European I know we are together in this completely insane situation initalised by the pathetic performance of the Trump administration. But with Canada on our side, with a strong leader as Trudeau I´m optimistic that the european leaders will also unite and focus not on their differences but on the common interest to stop this destructive US Goverment from destroying the free western society.

Canadian people, please, please stop buying American products, cancel subscription for Netflix and other platforms, encourage Canadians businesses. This is not to hurt America people, it’s to send a message to the Trump administration that we are not going kneel to a bully. We need to be political and use our purchasing power to defend Canadians interests

I think Trumps secret plan is to bankrupt USA because its in the interest of Russia. I have come to believe he is a secret Russian spy put in place to destroy as much as he can. The reason is that Putin has some kind of dirty secret on him that he desperately does not want to come out or That he owes him a lot of money and the Russian mob will kill him if he does not follow the plan Russia have set in motion. As an American citizen I would like to call for the immediate 3rd impeachment and swift dismissal from the Oval Office of trump for treasonous acts and attempts to dismantle the branches of democracy and incompetencey of running a country for best interest of all its people as well as charging musk in the illegal practices to gain access to highly classified documents belonging to the American people for his own personal gain. They have been putting our corporations out of business that compete with them here by giving those Canada companies subsidies so they can sell their materials cheaper than ours. While a belligerent Atlanticist imperialism is becoming a thing of the past, in the meantime; asserting that Zelensky does not want peace and thereby implying that America does want peace is classic Trump spin. What America really wants is victory over Russia and eventually China. Trump is not the US and his behavior is not in the best interest of the US. He is the president because he is a skilled con man. However, narcissistic bullying tactics do not work forever as long as there are people with a modicum of intelligence and self respect. He’s trying to be a bully to get his way because it worked for him in the past. He’s is using his position to bolster himself financially and his ego. Everyone should stand up for themselves to include those in the US.

The reason for this is Trump wants industry back in the US, and as long as people buy things from outside of the US cheaper, that's not going to happen. Thus the tariffs. That's what they're for, protectionism. Why he pretends it won't be bad for americans or that they won't be paying more for products, I don't know. Perhaps his way of preparing people for bad times. Or the wishful thinking bit he swears to. Whatever. But what sane person would build up an industry predicated on Trump being consistent and willing to stay the course? An industry that would fall apart like it's 1920 the moment tariffs end? I predict noone.\n\nI have some experience with Clark, he was an insightful man during his command in Europe. It should be concerning when he can't see a reason for these actions, for cozying up to Putin and alienating allies. There's no end goal here that is in the US' interest. Trump's cabinet is not interested in this sort of thing, they are domestic dilettantes. There is no 4D chess. So what is the deal? Is it just his anger at Zelensky for not investigating Hunter Biden during the election? It seems... a bit too much for that, despite Trump being known as extremely spiteful.

this isnt stupid at all, Trump has vested interests, it could be short sales of commodities, metals, stocks, derivatives in markets in the affected tariff countries.These investments will be carefully veiled to avoid detection by the SEC, however, he's not stupid, he is incredibly selfish. Remind me again why Trudeau was forced to resign? Even NY Times investigative journalists recently explained how NAFTA worked against US interests and killed so much of our industry decades ago; almost the opposite of what was intended.
