I live in Nashville, TN USA. I am so sorry Canada is suffering due to Trump. I do not support this move on Trump's part. I never voted for him. I have known for many years he is a dangerous narcissist. Canada is our friend. You have come to our aide in times of trouble. Our forest fires, 911 when the planes hit our twin towers. Trump wants a 4.5 Trillion dollar tax cuts for the wealthy. He sees tariffs as a way to make up some of that money alone with huge budget cuts to many of our programs. Trump is an unreasonable person who only thinks about himself. I hope he will eventually be impeached. I do not blame Canada. I blame Donald Trump and the the Republican Congress. This is a coupe going down in our country and it is sad to watch. Take good care.

It is a surreal moment when USA has entered into a war with our best friend and ally neighbor Canada, and we don't even know why. Nobody voted for this, did MAGA vote for this? Why on earth we are allowing Trump to do it, why Congress is allowing it, why aren't we on the streets protesting, do we want to wait until it gets worse, or beyond the point of return? Maybe building a Boarder Wall on America's Northern Boarder would be a good idea. Canada is responsible to guard our boarders and allow in only those who we feel qualify. Canada does not close it's boarders to those who wish to leave, nor does the United States close it's boarders to those who wish to leave. The United States is free to put up a wall and a boarder crossing anywhere you wish, stop whoever you want to stop from entering your country. I can tell you that The fastest Boarder Wall that I have ever seen go up is the one that Trump just raised between the United States and Canada, the Tariff Wall. What you have done is put signs on our shelves, buy Canadian. You have taken American Product from the top shelf, to the verry bottom shelf, behind the Made in China. You have closed the Travel Agencies to United States travel, nobody wants to go to your country, and I heard that there is going to be a 250% Tariff on hotel accommodations for Americans visiting Canada. It is not only about the Tariffs on Canada, who Used to be your friends, it is about your new friend Russia, who support Terrorist organizations all over the world, including the ones in Gaza who held Americans Hostage, who supports IRAN who supports Russia in murdering and raping women, kidnapping children in Ukraine, torturing and murdering citizens with their hands tied behind their backs. If this is what America supports, if this is what America does to its Ally's, I hope the taps for the oil and the switch for the electricity are turned off, and we never have to worry about each other ever again.\n\nCanada is a country with an Area roughly the size of the United States, with a population 340 Million is 8 1/2 times larger than Canada at $40 Million, with a GDP 9 1/2 times larger than Canada. Trump wants to put these tariffs on so his rich US friends can buy the Canadian businesses for pennies on the dollar and then remove the tariffs and they become even richer! that's all it is. Its nothing to do with fentanyl. Its all money for trump and business.

Those of us who did not vote for Trump do not want this either. My last two out of three vacations were spent in Canada. I hate to see our friends treated this way. Don't think we all agree with the way Trump is governing.

1/2: Myself and the saner half of the US that read, understood, and voted against Proj 2025 understands why they need to levy retaliatory tariffs especially as a Michigander who's lived less than 4 hours from Canada all her life, who has family in Quebec and Ontario, and is a job-seeking policy professional and international trade nerd who now cannot in good faith seek a job in the federal government. We have been looking and still do look to Canada as a model quite a bit and love Canada and Canadians to pieces. We Michiganders especially in the central and eastern UP and Detroit and Ann Arbor area are friends, coworkers, and family of Canadians. Some are even dual citizens.
