Lived in the US for 4 years and bought 5 rental properties in my home country. Now I'm retired at the age of 34. It was the best decision I have ever made. I am now building a business and want to expand to Canada for my actual retirement. You make the life of a digital nomad and you consciously choose to have no roots. Canada is a very diverse place. It very probably do not worth living in sythern Ontrio ad in the Vancouver area. But there is plenty of other places in Canada much more affordable and interesting. Me coming from Québec and iving there make me think that you could have choose to come to live here and intergrate yourself into our society. Take for example the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean where i come from more precisely. I guees you never went there. And believe me this in another country in comparison with Vancouver and the whole of southern Ontario. In my mind you should choose to setlle and make babies. This being done you could still live in the nomadic world to a cetain point and be into the digital world.

Try London England, you’ll find it’s 3-4 times more expensive than Toronto. Or try living in Congo or Palestine, it’s a lot safer than Canada. \n\nSeeing fellow Canadians complain like babies when we have it so good compared to other places makes me EMBARRASSED. Life in Canada isn’t that bad! The cost of food is the same as England £4.50 for strawberries ($8.00), £3.00 ($6) for milk, and £5.50 ($9) for cheese but gas £2.90/L ($4.10/Litr) way more costly in England. It seems like it’s mostly Canadians who ONLY know Canada and immigrants who expected life to be magically easy and handed to them… ? ?‍♂️ I had to learn to be grateful living outside of Canada, the whole world is facing inflation right now! Europe and North America. But Canada isn’t as bad as many places. But then again, I’m not a quitter. The best way to survive is getting a good education and a stable and high in demand career. Nurse, doctor, teacher, lawyer, dentist, psychiatrist, etc etc. Then you will find you might complain a bit less ?

The area of land that is within a reasonable commute of a CBD is fixed. So any increase in population makes every square metre of that land more valuable and more expensive. Supply and demand. Any increase in the cost of housing is anti-baby making.. So importing foreigners discourages the local people from having families.

Having baby’s that will contribute to Canada is a long slow process. Immigration is and should be a way to fine tune the amount of people contributing in real time to better stabilize the economy. Too many immigration loopholes ,scams and boarder jumping with liberal ideology turning a blind eye and incompetent governmental oversight is making life for Canadians worse.
