I came to Canada from India as an international student, worked hard to pay my tuition, and earned permanent residency through the express entry points system. It wasn’t easy—I had to balance studies, work, and adapting to a new country.\n\nI understand concerns about immigration, and yes, some take advantage of the system. Part of the issue lies in the aggressive marketing of the “Canadian dream” by certain colleges and recruiters in India, exploiting vulnerable people and leading to misuse of Canada’s policies.\n\nI also recognize frustrations with those who protest after failing to meet the points or hire only friends instead of deserving candidates, even if they’re from my country. But that doesn’t mean we’re all the same. Just as Hitler and Anne Frank were both Germans, nationality doesn’t define character.\n\nIndia is incredibly diverse, and judging an entire group based on the actions of a few is deeply unfair. Experiencing racism simply because of where I’m from is heartbreaking. I hope we can move past stereotypes and see people for who they truly are.

I went through this twice during COVID. Two tenants stopped paying one after the other and lost over 50k. Sadly, the only option is to take her to small claims court but in order to do that you need an eviction order and sheriff documents. Even if he does get to that point, they can o lay garnish her wages and at that point, she can avoid paying and jump from place to place changing addresses info and job details. Professional renters know the system and they work it to screw the landlords. One tenant I had actually believed that if they rent the house they “own the home”. Even if you call the police they won’t do anything. If the government just allowed the police to arrest and charge these people I think it would help but they don’t. It’s horrible. I’m actually thinking of selling my home because of the financial burden it’s been post COVID. I have good tenants now but only after using most of the equity to pay off the damage and missed rent from the last 3 tenants….

The problem is not international students themselves; the problem lies with students who cheat the system to become international students.\n\nSecondly, no international students are promised permanent residency (PR). There is a pathway to PR, and the government should ensure it is followed. However, if a student's study or work permit expires, they must leave as they declared when applying for the permit. Canada understands that individuals from developing nations may not want to return home, and that is understandable. But the proper process must be followed.\n\nI agree that the Canadian government has made mistakes. However, international students also took advantage of the system, which I can understand. The government should never have allowed international students to obtain work permits so easily. They should have been required to complete their studies, secure a job offer, and only then apply for a work permit. This would be the point at which their PR process could begin.\n\nWhat the government did instead was detrimental to Canadians. By allowing international students to get work permits immediately, bring their spouses, and provide work permits to them as well, they created challenges. Students should focus on studying first, graduating, and then finding a job—just as it used to be.\n\nThe government should create regulations requiring all publicly funded colleges and universities to cap the fees charged to international students. These institutions should only be allowed to charge a maximum of 15% to 25% above the fees for local students. Charging exorbitant amounts was essentially a form of robbery, exploiting international students with the false hope of permanent residency (PR), which is never guaranteed.

Toooooooo many Indians !!! And not the good ones ! Bring back the strict point system. All the old school ones are great people, these new ones have no respect for Canada and treat our country like its lawless India.

On the other side rent prices are crazy high to the point of people being forced onto the streets. Some of these Landlords who have dumps are charging. they really need to balance stuff out. Im actually in the business I am on both sides of this. I don't agree with how the system works in either case.

I'm a newcomer, and I agree with the points, and I see that people are blaming immigrants in general, but they don't think in the structural flaws that we have in the government system, I found a shame the public transportation in some of the biggest cities and in other public services, and I found that could be easier the validation of diplomos, we have doctors and engineers driving uber, because they can't work in their profession, and I feel that they are putting limits in the immigrants from one side, but they have no limits in refugees, I understand that they need help but should have a limit that the structure can hold.

Canada wants immigrants so they can pay them cheap for meanial jobs that nobody wants to do. Period. All your efforts spent getting a degree in something will be worth nothing here. Period. Even if you consider yourself super smart with an IQ above average and think you can defy the system, think better: yes you can go to school here and get your degree recognized, but is gonna take a lot of time and money, you'll probably have to work two jobs under shitty weather and pay the rent for an apartment not bigger than a shoebox, not to mention the college fees. Is it worth it? After 15 years spent here first as an immigrant and now as a citizen, I still have to understand what makes Canada so appealing to people. But then I came from Europe, where life is easy and relaxed, so I guess my point of view is biased.

Thank you for summarizing these key changes! Many problems are actually the Canadian immigration system not learning from the mistakes of the US system and now it’s suffering the same consequences. If Canada cuts down on those selected immigrations but still takes in refugees, it’s only going to make anti-immigrant sentiment worse. Selected immigrants are allowed into Canada to help alleviate Canadian issues…or at least people who come through Express Entry are less likely to become a burden. On the other hand, refugees, given their unfortunate circumstances, really need to rely on a lot of social services and resources to help them resettle. The US has eliminated pretty much all non-humanitarian immigration that’s why immigrants are so demonized there. Americans only feel the drags of refugees and asylum seekers (even though ethically we need to protect them) and there is no selected immigration to balance that out. Yet this round of Canadian policy change is heading exactly that direction.\n\nIt used to be international students in Canada are not paying a lot more tuition than Canadian students. But Canadian universities saw how much money universities in the US are making so they asked the federal government to change the policy to enable them to charge international students several times the regular tuition (whereas in countries like France, international students actually pay less than citizens). So now Canadian universities rely too much on international students to operate and it becomes an exploitative relationship even before students step foot on the campus. The new PGWP eligibility is awful because students can make contributions in every field. It might (and that's a big if) address the pressing problems, but it won't help Canada grow.\n\nI thought the new language requirement was interesting. Some Canadians who immigrated decades ago when the bar was really low still speak English poorly and now they are saying people can’t come to Canada because their language skills are not sufficient. Another point about language is if you apply through Express Entry now, even if you scored the highest language score, given how competitive the pool is, you still won’t get selected. So it’s a given that you need to be fluent in one of the languages at least to get an invitation. Express Entry also selects only the top people, I saw the head of The Institute for Canadian Citizenship in interviews talking about those top-tier people only expect the best treatment/lifestyle when they come to Canada. That's why many of them leave after seeing these Canadian problems play out. But I believe a good Canadian life is not about living in a high rise in Vancouver and Toronto, driving an expensive car, or buying luxury items...it's about the communities, nature and middle-class comfort. So the system is giving PRs to the wrong kind of people (just like mismatched people when hiring that don't align with company values).\n\nThis brings me to the last frustrating issue. There were so many people who attended “fake” universities and bought “fake” jobs to earn points to get an Express Entry invitation. And it's clear that the government wasn't proactively catching these abuses. They are taking up spots from those who try to earn the points fair and square. If I understand correctly, Canada doesn’t send these people away if they are found out (since some of them were scammed). So they still take up immigration quotas.\n\nI have wanted to move to Canada for a long time. I have visited Canada many times, hiking trails through the coastline and fjords, climbing mountains and glaciers. I lived in Montreal for two months to improve my French and I was told by my homestay family that I was the first student they had who didn’t complain about the cold (I wish the winter never ends so I can skate or xc ski in the parks year-round). I have probably seen more Canada than many Canadians and I love every bit of it. But the opportunity for me to even get a shot to move there is pretty much nonexistent now. If only there was a way for the system to allow people who really care about Canada to get a shot at being part of this beautiful country.\n\nThank you for making these videos.

Hello Anna and Anastasia your channel is truly a hidden gem full of useful information and insight. I am an international student myself and I agree with all your points in the video, Canada used immigration to fix a deeper problem and that is its difficulty to incentivize the economy by having a heavily regulated environment, high taxes and low productivity. It will definitely alleviate some of the pressure on the system but, the real cause is still there. The first sector that is going to be affected will be the education as colleges and universities became over reliant with the revenue coming from Int. Students (which is not particularly small) and institution will need to adapt. When I first came here I fell in love with the country and I really feel fortunate to enjoy this beautiful place and doing everything to assimilate and integrate myself into the culture. I think here you can have a sense of hope of things improving in the future (something that is not the case in my home country) but if they do not fix the underlying problem it does not matter how much immigration they reduce, Canadians will not see a significant improvement. yes homelessness and \\all the handouts are bad at least where i live and work as a security Guard in the lowermnainland of British columbia I barely make it and the homeless people seem to have more rights and in some cases have moer money then I do working as security . as for the racism I cant speak of that living on the west coast I have had the rascist card thrown at me many times for just eplaing to a person tha tthey are on prvate property and need to leave or the biggest time was I was working at a UBC football game and a black peron was on a part of the football feild where knowone should be with out p[roper ID so I walked over and this person started to freak out calling me a racist becsaue I asked for his ID he then shows me his superbowl ring telling me that gives him pecial priliedges whiuc hit doesnt I was alway calm speaking with him and plite as he was spitting at me trying to cause more attetnion then needed . at the end of the game his friend who also had a ring and him were together as he was pointing at me calling me a racist but his friend said the only racist thign he seen was him calling me a racist . Seriously, this is an absolutely disgraceful and pathetic attack by the liberals. Here is the cold hard fact. The government controls immigration. The government controls who and how many. The liberals have been granting student visas for years, literally unchecked in both numbers and who they were given to. The schools merely took in however many the liberals let in. Hundreds of thousands of them. Had trudeau set a reasonable cap to begin with, then the schools would only be accepting that capped number. The more trudeau let in, the more the schools took on. This wasnt the fault of the schools. This is an absolute direct result of the liberal government completely screwing up the immigration system. \n\nNot only did trudeau let in far too many students which blew up school enrolment, but it messed up the entire employment system, healthcare system and housing market. Not to mention that it drained the foodbanks and students were using them as their grocery store. Now we have hundreds of thousands of international students demanding trudeau support them, give them housing, jobs and citizenship. To say trudeau completely wrecked immigration doesnt even come close to what has resulted. The entire country is now reeling from this, and it will take decades to resolve the consequences. \n\nTrudeau is despicable. And this is what we call, a ladder puller. Now that she was able to become a citizen, rather than helping her family members to get their legal status, which can be difficult, tedious and very expensive, she could care less if the lives they have already spent decades on building here are completely destroyed. She seems to be fully aware that it can be a difficult process, and I personally have seen that it’s not exactly a fair one either. I have seen some people spend not only years waiting on a hearing or a determination, but spend thousands they scrape together on lawyers and obtaining records, while others submit minimal evidence and get a determination in weeks. Instead of admitting that there are problems with the system and vote for people who are actually trying to help, she wants the same system that made it a difficult process for her to stay the same for them. In fact she voted for someone who is going to make it harder if not impossible for them to come back the right way in the first place. Is she not thinking? If they get deported, that is going into immigration records and when that gets pulled up when they apply to come back it will likely cause any legally efforts to return to be rejected. And who knows how long that will stay in their system? Could be years, could be permanent. Biden’s idea to help those undocumented who are married to citizens to be able to apply and get a temporary visa to stay here while they wait so that families wouldn’t have to be broken up by having the applicant return to their country of origin. That was not just a great idea from a humanitarian point, but they could apply for a job that wasn’t going to take advantage of them by paying below minimum wage, with no rights if they are injured. That could help bring local wages up. They would start contributing back by paying their fair share of taxes, and do on. Republicans in red states stopped it though and are suing the Biden administration for trying to do what? Help people and fix some of the issues that our broken immigration system has caused? \nSorry lady, but you earned your family’s ire and whatever treatment you get from the administration you voted for.

I love Americans. Although that's a general statement and just like Canada, there are jerks there just like here, for the most part I get along great with them. There are pros and cons to living in Canada and the U.S., For the most part, I believe Canada is the superior country. We have a superior healthcare system, superior banking system, superior snacks, and superior safety. However, Trudeau is killing that. He's destroyed our country to the point that one more term, and it may well be expedient to move to the USA. He's destroying our economy, our values, our culture. We have the resources to top the USA in every way, but we've never had leadership to make that happen. The U.S. has a superior economy, retail, and military. Although some may argue that the USA has superior freedoms, I'm not sure I agree with that. I know I don't feel freer when I travel there. I will definitely travel to the U.S. again. I have lots of friends there who I love and would love to see. However, it will take more Trudeau for me to want to move there. Since it looks like he's on the way out, I better just stay put at least for now.

I am a born and raised Canadian and have seen my country go downhill for at least the last couple of decades.\nHealth Care: doctors and nurses are moving Stateside in droves. No, the US doesn’t have universal health care but there are insurance plans and the care is enormously better. My girlfriend had 4th stage throat cancer. In Calgary the doctors at some point told her there was nothing more they could do for her and to get her affairs in order. Her father sent her to the Anderson Clinic in Houston - yes it was expensive but they treated her, saved her life and that was 24 years ago. \nIt’s common in our emergency rooms to wait up to 12 hours to be seen. \nOur system isn’t progressive and doctors and nurses don’t get paid near as well as in the States. That being said, I am happy that I don’t have to pay to see the doctor or have a stay in the hospital. \nCost of Living: Once upon a time it was good - housing was cheap and many companies had the full range of benefits and salaries were equal to the cost of living. Now these same companies have stripped the benefits by hiring people under contract so they don’t have to give them benefits. \nRents are through the roof and in Calgary there are no rent caps. Buying a decent house in a decent neighbourhood is impossible unless you inherit or make a six figure income. This, in no small part, has created a homelessness crisis that never had been seen in such numbers before. Crime also is getting worse by the day. Canada was once known as a safe country. This is no longer the case.\nEverything is very expensive and the tax very high. Plus, we have to suffer winter! Where I live, the joke is that we have two seasons - July and winter!\nI still like my city (not love) but I am retired and own two houses - one inherited and the other bought when it was affordable (32 years ago). Calgary would not be a place I would live if I was a newcomer. Vancouver is beautiful but you really pay for it. \nTrudeau has helped make a big mess of things with immigration and lax criminal laws. My beef is not with immigrants I must state - it is with the lack of jobs for them when they come, thereby forcing bad living conditions and an over reliance on the social systems. I add that the immigration population is much more willing to work in jobs they have to take (despite a high education) than our natural and bloated citizens.\nSo yes, Canada has increasingly gone downhill. This is a reaction to the potential loss of their student visas, not some jumping the queue scheme. The changes in the student visa system has created this temporary panic. A student who is in second or third year has already spent a lot of money to get an education and then lose that money and not have a degree. The years and money would be lost, then they would have to go through the process again in other country has caused this. Many of these student will remain as students and get their degrees and go home as they have in the past. Our university have had foreign students forever and it has worked. The anti-immigrant trolls should be ashamed. We are all immigrants here, unless we are aboriginal so we shouldn't point fingers. People are coming to Canada because it is their best chance for a future. Your ancestors though so too.

I once came across colleague who arrived on study permit, went to construction jobs while on the permit, took advantage of favouring exchange rate in his home country, send all his savings there, bought a 4 acre land and gets healthy crops there enough for his family to live a lavish life making enough to retire at 30. When his study permit and associated work permit expired and he didn't qualify for PR in Canada as per point system, applied for asylum stating political unrest back home. His asylum was accepted. We who think they are poor are fools. He was only 27 and said he will retire at 30. But I doubt he will ever go back to his home country.? Canada is his gold mine. He was from Bangladesh. Trust me Indians dont go that far. There is no political instability in India and if to the contrary Indians are claiming asylum the system is truly broken.

Being an Immigrant who came here myself through point system should not allow asylum seekers

I can tell you one of the major reasons. It is the fact that these immigrants from India do not want to assimilate into Canada. Instead they bring their ways with them into Canada and some of those “ways”, are not acceptable in Canada. One example of that is the whole using the bathroom on the beach. But one that hits hard for me is the insane amount of immigrants that are harvesting spawning salmon with nets, without any of the properly paperwork that is needed to fish salmon with a rod. Using a net is illegal, I know they know it because when I catch them doing this. They become quiet and all of a sudden, after hearing them just speaking English, they pretend they do not know English… I can tell you this is all true. The other thing I have seen with my eyes is shop lifting from the local grocery store. I have never seen that before, not ever in all my years living here. It would be somewhat different if they were stealing essential items and essential foods. But they are not doing that, they are stealing all the luxury items. I am a white Canadian and I am proud of it, but guess what. I am also proud of the fact that I have a doctor that came from India and his family is thriving here. It makes me proud that he chose our country try to come to, with his educational background, it also makes me proud that he and his family have taken the time to try and assimilate into our culture. When I say assimilate by the way, I do not want them or and immigrant to completely abandon their cultures, I just would prefer it if they assimilate to the point where we can have a healthy community instead of all these separate cultural areas in our towns and cities. I love the fact that you spoke some harsh truths here sir, much respect to you and your family sir. I hope you can continue making such informative videos for people to learn from. The other thing I have to add is that the word racism is thrown around too much and too easily in our current woke cultural climate here in Canada and this is just making the immigration issues worse because it produces a culture of fear for those Canadians that would like to help educate those immigrants that need help. But they do not do so because they are afraid of being labeled a racist or some other word and having their livelihoods and overall lives ruined. I am in a position in life where I do not care if people want to say such things about me. I am also well educated and in the position to come up with well articulated arguments in my defence. My main issue with immigration that bothers me more than the rest not only affects us Canadians but also affects the immigrants as well. Ok so before mass immigration was a thing here in Canada our healthcare system that we all used to be extremely proud of the as showing too many cracks and we knew it was falling apart. You think the government would place more funding into the healthcare system. Well that has not happened and if anything they have taken more funds away from our healthcare system than any other time in our country’s history. So before the mass immigration begun we had a major issue with having way too many patients and not enough medical staff to adequately treat everyone in a timely and healthy manner. So now think about that, the healthcare system was already stressed with the current population before mass immigration. How do you think adding waves and waves of more people every year via mass immigration is affecting that system? The answer is this… if the system was stressed beforehand, it is collapsing now. I am one of the lucky few that has a family doctor right now. It takes three months the just for me to see her… If I have an emergency and have to call 911, the ambulance will take me up to the local ER and then I will be wheeled out to the waiting room, which defeats the purpose of me calling 911 for a ambulance. I have waited two days at the local ER just to see a doctor. So here is where it affects the immigrants coming in. If a Canadian that was here before you is already having major issues with the healthcare, then I can only imagine how hard it will be for a new citizen to our country, nuff said really… the local er near me had a person die in the waiting room this past January. Add to this fact that I am actually pretty sick at the moment and so are my parents and you can understand why I am upset about our failing healthcare system. The politicians do not have to worry about our such issues though because they can afford to pay to go outside of Canada and pay cold hard cash for medical treatment. That is why they do not mind removing funds from our healthcare system, it will not affect them and they get to line their pockets with more of our tax money… I honestly place most of the blame for what is going on right now on Trudeau’s government and not the immigrants. The immigrants could help make this crappy situation a lot better for both of our parties though if they tried a little harder to adapt to our ways of life here. When in Canada try to live like a Canadian, I do not think that is asking much. Again, as for racism, I believe in judging a person by their actions and not by the colour of their skin. Racism is such an antiquated way of thinking… Our skin colours maybe different, just like our cultural backgrounds, but after all is said and done we are all members of the human race. There is more to this story than this report says. It’s complicated. I have seen behaviour of students once here. How much support they get from families? If they have to pay their tuition , housing and other living expenses they seem to have to work more than what they are allowed. Overcrowding of homes lack of housing spots not gaining knowledge and skills required. Fine tuning reason for need for immigration and developing qualities in immigrants that countries vye for. Changing the composition of population should not be the problem. Creating conditions for getting the right fit is needed. Point system was good I think but too slow to fill the gap of people needed. Municipalities and province are also to be accountable. How do they manage the fast changes. This student route to immigration started less than a decade ago. I find the speed with which housing needs increased mushrooming of colleges increased and beneficiaries of facilitators that responded to market demands have I think created the problem. A grass roots observation. Seeing just a portion of the problem.

When so many immigrants enter a country that its infrastructure can not handle the increased population, people start to be anti-immigration. People who are not the majority race and culture, are easy targets for people who are frightened by the rise of homelessness and crime, and loss of employment. In Canada, even in small rural towns, long established residents see that their children can not find work, or housing, while obvious immigrants are everywhere as waitresses, cashiers, and other unskilled jobs which their children used to do when starting out. On top of that, many Canadians can not find a family doctor, and our healthcare system is strained to the breaking point. People are frightened, and want the government to tighten immigration policies. I think that our government did not consider all the factors when it opened the door so wide for immigration. Now it has to take a step back, and ensure that the infrastructure is in place before immigrants arrive in Canada, not be forever trying to fix the problems after they have caused havoc!

My parents were immigrants, but they came here when there was a points system and immigration was based on merit and those that respected Canadian culture. Reporter should first do a basic background research on international students PGWP program before blaming them. Why they have the points system for students to apply for PR if they were ment to study and leave. I agree and appreciate your constructive approach to this issue. It would of been easy to play the race card the whole video. I can tell you that it goes both ways here with this issue. It is not right to put good and bad apples in one basket, the bad stands out here more than the good.\nI came from an area of very few Indians and been living in an area of high immigration for many years, so I came from a place of no prejudices. Unfortunately, much of what Canadians complain about are true as I experienced it first hand. I won't list this because others have. I absolutely agree that you are ambassadors when outside the home country, as I think the same in my travels. Overall I believe it is a blatant disregard for Canadian culture and laws, and lack of assimilation with Canadians, especially white, that has caused this to be the big part of this divide. I am living in Canada right now and I agree with all the points mentioned however,\n1. As a lady I feel safe, no one judge me for my clothes, no one stare me disgustingly and no one consider I am his private property to assault.\n2. I feel safe when my kid goes outside to play. People here follows laws strictly. Vehicle stops even at signal allows them to proceed, always I repeat always driver signals me to proceed.\n3. I feel happy that my husband is valued in his office and much appreciated. His seniors credit him for his hard work and everyone here encourage us to have proper work life balance.\n4 I agree we pay high tax but atleast we are getting benefits in return. Public libraries, transport system are top notches. \n5. Banking, health care, all government facilities are very systematic. We were not even aware we have completed 18 months in Canada and we received letter from government stating very soon my son's child benefit will start. We didn't even enquired about it. They processed it automatically as per our arrival date.\n6. And lastly, we celebrated Independence Day here in Calgary, it was great event and all officers were protecting us. I clearly remember while dancing , huge Indian flag dropped down by a toddler and one Chinese officer,he picked it up and gave it to nearby adult.\n\nLife is valued, humans are respected,laws are followed here so I don't regret my decision of migrating but yes, honestly I do miss India as well and I am proud I am an Indian.

Sort out your own Caste System before you start talking about racism and discrimination in other places. You have no right to point fingers when you’ve been treating your own people unfairly for centuries. Free the Dalits, the 'untouchables,' and show what true equality looks like. Dropping the racism card is already overused.

This is not enough. The immigration rules and policies need a complete overhaul. Here are some thoughts - 1) Stop issuing PRs to unskilled workers by revising the point system and tightening eligibility criteria. 2) do not grant PR to old parents until their child has become a citizen. they should not be allowed to work for more than 10 hours a week. 3) Limit social security benefits for immigrants during their first three years, allowing only essential healthcare for critical issues. 4) Halt the practice of granting easy citizenship. Extraordinary talent should be eligible for citizenship after three years, while others should only qualify after paying taxes for five years within the last ten. 5) Stop issuing LMIAs that are quite frequently misused for cheap labor. 6) Restrict work permits to a maximum of 5K per year until demand increases. 6)Limit the number of refugees to no more than 10K per year. In addition to these points, all existing loopholes must be closed.

The thing is, if they came here to “study” and actually got a degree in something that could benefit Canada, they would be offered the opportunity to stay. \nHow are all there “students” leaving these schools with nothing to offer, other than working at convenience stores and cabs?\nThe entire point of post secondary is to gain knowledge and skills for future employment. \nThey we’re obviously never interested in gaining an actual education, only a past track to permanent residence. \nThere are immigration “consultants” that advertise on TikTok in Punjabi, out of Brampton, that apply on their behalf to take advantage of loopholes on our system that turn visitor visas into work visas. I live in Scotland for last 5 years, moved here because I was tired of India. Its corruption, polarized politics, and also how people behave. I have been welcomed by the Scots here, treated with respect and made many Scottish friends and know families who are some of the kindest warm people you will meet. \nI also know lots of Indians who are well behaved and good residents of Scotland. But sometimes I see Indians who simply take advantage of the Scottish hospitality. These Indian abuse the honor system to the point that it has become less prevalent. I once seen some north Indian guy singing vulgar Bhojpuri songs to a white girl when on the sidewalk in a manner that can be called eve testing, that made my blood boil. I absolutely hate it and avoid some Indians unless I personally know them. Being and Indian I dont want to be associated with Indians abroad because these 1-2% Indians have given the rest of us a bad name.

Hi Alina, well done on your decision. This is not an easy thing to do. As well as Canada, i have lived in the uk and Greece. I don't want to make things harder for you but i want to warn you that the grass is never greener on the other side. I am very disappointed with Canada to be honest. Germany created their own problem in their flawed, points-based model of their government pension system. It is like we are paying backwards, where our money earned right now is taken away from us to pay for the pensions of retired people who earned those rights to a government pension years or decades ago during their working lives. We are then given points, with the hope that the next generations one day pay for our own pensions. See the problem?\n\nInstead, people’s hard earned monthly payments towards pension could have instead have been invested for them into actively-managed portfolios of bonds, equities and commodities. Thereby, each and every person currently on pension could have enjoyed the benefits of decades of compounding growth!\n\nNow we are here, as the video says, 2 workers are needed to cover the pension of 1 retired person. This is absolutely absurd and they will never be able to attract 400,000 new skilled workers every year with the current issues highlighted in this video.\n\nMy best advice - when you are working in Germany, seriously think about it to save and invest a portion of your net income and prepare yourself for a future where you cannot solely rely on your German pension!
