I know I will get attacked in the comments for this, but I grew up in the US watched many presidents come and go, and I have never seen the country that I live in turn so corrupt and evil in my life we have been lied to by our president. Canada has the fortitude to resist and also fight back on this injustice and unfair attack by your so-called 'friends'.\n\nYou have the support of your British cousins, and the rest of the EU - I honestly hope Canada is able to redirect their trade to the EU and actually get fair market prices for their valuable and exclusive resources.\n\nAs Trudeau says, NO ONE wins in a Trade War. Every stock market is down, and the US market is hit the hardest from this. This is sabotage from the inside, no doubt about it.

What the hell does America expect when you attack Canada economically, threaten to annex Canada and repeatedly insult the Canadian Prime Minister. Canadians are fed up. And Canadians are sickened to see the USA cozy up to Russia and abandon our ally Ukraine.

The Republicans have betrayed more than our old friends and allies with this astonishing attack on Canada, coming on the heels of Trump's performative assault on Ukrainian sovereignty. They've betrayed our constitutional republic, common sense, simple human decency, our core institutions, our people. The best of what we have ever been or hoped to be as a nation has been jettisoned to privilege the worst, including the South African billionaire who is currently dismantling Social Security, and the Russian tyrant who has hungered for years to kill NATO and the Western alliance, an outcome the Republicans are now handing him on a silver platter.

I find this speech has caused me to re-evaluate Justine Trudeau - he has become the statesman we always hoped he could be and he stated clearly Canada will retaliate for this incomprehensible attack on the greatest trading partner the US has.

An American here who wholeheartedly supports Canada, Mexico and Ukraine, Greenland, Panama and any other country our embicile in chief attacks, except russia?

I agree with Canada in every statement said here. It’s sad that Americans have allowed themselves to be manipulated by one man. As an American I say to Canada and Mexico, do what you need. We don’t see this as an attack on us, but as a response to an attack by Trump on your countries. I used to wonder how Hitler was able to convince so many to follow him. We have seen exactly the same behavior by Americans, today, who follow Trump. It’s sad, and it’s disgusting.

I am Canadian, and I want to speak to the USA, as a concerned citizen who valued the relationship that we once had between our two countries: please realize that we do NOT want to declare this as any form of “attack”, that these are solely defensive measures against your current administration’s lack of respect towards us as a people and as a country. \n\nPlease rest assured that we KNOW that not all of you voted for Trump, that there are those of you who realize what your current president is truly doing and do not support it. This is NOT about fentanyl. This NOT about money and how much each country was giving whom. We had a respectable trade deal that we were following, previously signed by Trump. We have always had a positive relationship together, business-wise and friendship-wise. Please also realize that, once your administration is no longer in control of our narratives in such a destructive manner, or it gets replaced by one that reverses this destructive policy, we will definitely reconsider our former relationship and we will work towards rebuilding it. \n\nIt is unfortunate for both sides here. We are aware of that. But “Canada Strong” is our way to remain forever a sovereign and free nation. Nothing more, nothing less. Always remember that.
