Good luck Canada, It feels like Trump is trying to unite the world against him

We know that our president is a frigging idiot, but the fact he *noticeably* drops his language grade level when “talking directly to” Trump and says “we’ve done *big things*” twice and calls him a “very smart guy” and pulls it into a schoolyard metaphor of “two friends fighting.”\n\nI couldn’t wrap my head around how we got saddled with this joke of a human in 2016. \nCouldn’t fathom how it was close in 2020.\nWant to vomit every day that we allowed this deep, unchecked harm to befall us, our allies, and the entire world. \n\nI keep wanting to just wake up.\nI feel so insane that we seem to have literally no power to stop this, and that the *entirety* of the GOP is completely fine with this. They have the power, but truly with small margins. But they’re just … all complicit in this.\n\nAnd even NOW, when it’s clearly going to fuck the economy and markets in ways that hurt actual corporations (who truly run it all now, from all sides of the political aisle except what seems like 5 social Dems/independents federally), even THE MONEY isn’t talking.

Trump must’ve made a ——->personal,,,$,,, <——-DEAL <——- with Putin to act dummy like this, absolute nonsense, a narcissist only thinks about himself,, he, him and himself only, time to get in the street and the White House and make Trump feel what he has done to the other party before! We are all living in strange times! The bad guy (Putin) is defended like he’s the good guy and the victim (Zelensky) is criticized like he’s the aggressor. This is so weird and negative like an episode of the Twighlight Zone! I think I can understand how Trump is viewing things. Bill O’Reilly seems to know how Trump thinks. Nevertheless, things are upside down! USA voting at the UN with North Korea and Putin and Belarus and against the EU and UK and NATO alliance nations … against the victim Ukraine? This is unheard of! Yet this is so ironic because Leonid Brezhnev, who was the USSR leader, when Russia invaded the sovereign nation of Afghanistan, and Vladimir Putin was a young KGB agent at that time, working for Brezhnev, is now in his position as leader, and he invaded Brezhnev’s sovereign homeland of Ukraine. Brezhnev must be weeping from hell and regretting his invasion of Afghanistan! Crying from hell, seeing his servant, Putin, in his seat of authority, and invading his homeland like he did to Afghanistan, I’m sure Brezhnev regrets but it’s too late now. He’s burning in hell and he can’t get out of hell! \n\nThe bad deal that Clinton and Yeltson and John Major dealt to Ukraine in the 1990s when they moved all of her nuclear weapons to Russia was like declawing the Ukrainian cat and now the cat can’t defend herself against aggressors because she has no claws to defend herself from aggressive attackers!\n\nCanada and Mexico are our friends not our enemies! China and North Korea still idolize the USSR/CCCP flag and Soviet Union hammer and sickle. Putin is a thug and gangster like Joseph Stalin. Everyone forgot what happened to Alexander Litvinenko except for those like John Bolton. \n\nWe are all living in perilous times! The wrongdoer (Putin) is called good and the victim (Zelensky) is called bad! This is so negatively bizarre and wrong! Isaiah 5:20 warns against this! Putin is not pure evil but he’s definitely not a good guy! He’s a gangster and thug like Al Capone! I think President Trump is walking on a tight rope by trying to make a good deal with Putin. And that tight rope spans from one high rise building to another - the senate and house chambers of the US legislature. The midterms are coming soon and if President Trump loses the house and senate, that tight rope could snap! And all those shock and awe executive orders etc. could come back to haunt him like a boomerang thumping his head.\n\nNever in my wildest imagination would I ever imagine Canadians harboring bad feelings towards the USA! This is 180 degrees opposite of how things were when Ronald Reagan and Brian Mulroney were in the political arena!

It’s not about fentanyl at all. Donald Trump is just using that as an excuse. He is lying to the American people like he always does. Don’t back down Canada ?? do your worst!! Trump voters need to feel the pain to realize what they have voted for. I’m embarrassed and disgusted with America right now and who we are becoming. Be proud of your nation and your leadership Canada!! America isn’t and can’t be as long as DT is in office.

How many people grew up in Divorced families with arguments and name calling and all the insults? I’m just wondering because the way our president in America is acting along with JD Vance and all the MAGA politicians they all act like those parents with the constant negativity and verbal abuse that all the crap that they put the American people through!!! How many times has our country gone through anything serious within or outside of our country? I am 62 years old and I can tell you there has been many, but we have never had a president / vice president and all the politicians on one party sit there and act the way these IDIOTS act! I was just thinking about this because of the constant stress I feel on a daily basis with this administration! It is a public disgrace as our trailer trash parents fight in public! The only reason Trump set tariffs on Canada is because he would look like a racist if he only did it to Mexico. I have a feeling soon Trump will lift the tariffs on Canada citing that Canada has complied with his requests. He will keep the tariffs on Mexico though.

Well, I feel like there's a pretty good chance mine and thousands of other jobs will hit Ontario hard when they move south of the border. Ontario is about to be hurting really, really bad as Trump comes for all our auto manufacturing jobs.

Oh my God, my heart is absolutely broken in half. I am an American citizen (I am ashamed to even tell anybody that) my brother is a Canadian citizen, and I feel like Trump has put up a wall that will now make it impossible for me to ever see my brother again.\n\n* I believe that Trump is somehow spawn of Satan. It should be said the people who didn’t vote for trump are just as pissed off as the rest of the world. Remember that. Fact is in my opinion America hasn’t embodied the views it was founded on in a very long time and is likely a shell of what it used to be. Corporate greed and shareholders is what runs this country and it disgusts me to my core. Honestly I don’t wanna stay here and the more people I meet as my life has continued the more I feel like these aren’t my people and the more I feel that this place isn’t my home. Who convinced Trump of this? I like him but this trade war against Canada isn’t the way to go, really. I feel Canadians were mistakenly targeted. US needs allies not foes. Proud of Trudeau for the first time. I don’t live in the US but in Canada at the moment, not Canadian either, but I’m very objective in my perception about these occurrences. I hope America makes peace with Canada so strengthen both sides, hmmm.

I grew up hearing lots of hate bout USA cuz the US doesn't exactly have a good rep in foreign policies - always bullying other nations, starting wars for oil etc. but I've always preferred USA not just for the world order it brings, it allows different voices, criticism & scolding towards its leaders compared to China, Russia & North Korea. \n\nin the US, you can talk bad bout politicians in power, or probably make movies bout these kind of things like US invading other countries for oil, or testing out some cruel AI military robots on humans (movie name: Monsters of Man), & you won't be persecuted. but after looking at a bunch of executive orders Trump has signed, the way he (& JD Vance) treated Zelenski & Canada, I don't know if I still feel the same bout USA anymore.\n\nif USA doesn't wanna continue spending on Ukraine, perhaps USA shouldn't have sweet talked Ukraine into denuclearization thru the 1994 Budapest Memorandum. that's what you get for mendling with other countries' affairs. by stopping US aid & wanting a new mineral deal, Trump's refusing to follow the Memorandum (I added this sentence thru edit as I can't reply to the comment below).\n\nunderstandably, US & UK don't need to deploy troops in Ukraine as the security assurance in the memorandum wasn't clearly defined, but it also didn't mention that Ukraine should pay the US back financially, nor any mineral concessions. \n\nTrump always wanting a purely 1 sided deal will only isolate USA from more allies.

This is so heart breaking, I was actually hopeful that Trump would change things for the better but it feels like we’re in a downward spiral, pray for the US ??❤️

As an American, the saddest thing is I now have to root against America. A slim majority of those who voted put this wannabe dictator and putin puppet in office and I want to see other countries point that out and slap back. The world needs to recognize the psychosis of donald trump. There isn't any equal relationship or deal with him. He must feel like he's humped you into submission. But like all weak men and bullies, he's ultimately a coward in the face or real challenge. I'm a canadian who usually agrees with Trump but in this case I feel like this makes no sense. Not sure exactly why Trump is doing all of this but deteriorating relations between us and impacting our economies in such a way makes no sense to me. The stock market is plummeting, jobs on both sides are at risk, prices on both sides of the border will go up. Btw my job won't be affected by these tariffs so i'm not speaking out of anger or fear for my job.

As a Canadian I can tell you it is a supremely miserable feeling to have a nation which we have such strong feeling for strike at us like this. It is equally miserable to know that our tariffs will also cause pain to Americans. We are sorry, and I know that is cliche, but we are. Have no doubt, if you know us at all, we will fight back passionately, vigorously and indefinitely. President Trump has done what no one should ever do: put our backs to the wall. We have no choice but to fight back. God help us all!

I feel like this is Trump’s move to apply pressure and instability to the Canadian people in his bizarre quest to obtain Canada as another state. If you know history, you know what happened the last time America tried to take Canada.

As a Canadian, I support any measure Trump places on Canada. There's a lot of Canadians, who are not willing to bend the knee to the Trudeau government, even if it means some pain. We are so sick of Trudeau and his NDP coalition government. Canada is struggling to get rid of this government and to let you know how bad it is, we are about to have our first ever 'UNELECTED' prime minister. He won't last long but it does really feel like pure unadulterated Authoritarianism.

For a PM who never cared about trade from day one, he now feels the urgency; in fact he destroyed past trade relationships. Canada has withdrawn from trade with Asia (Apec), Europe and South America and even made enemies with large trading partners like China, India and Saudi Arabia, so who do we trade with now?. Trump sees all these and knows Canada is very weak

I don’t like Bullies and trump is a bully\n\nSo for me, I’m putting Made in America products LAST. If there are alternatives to American products then I buy alternatives . \n\nSomethings are unavoidable- like apple products but I buy 1 new iPhone every 4 to 5 years. \n\nHouseholds don’t have to buy many high tech American products. We don’t have to buy American cars or refrigerators or ovens. \n\nI don’t drink Starbucks or eat macdonalds. I prefer smaller local cafes and support local businesses. \n\nIt’s impossible to be pure. But just because it isn’t doesn’t mean that American companies won’t feel the pain\n\nI won’t holiday in the USA either.
