I lived in Canada for 11 years, 2008 - 2019, went to university and worked in Toronto. I come from an upper-middle class family in China, went to a top university in Canada, landed good jobs and I speak English like a native. I got my PR in 2015 and I remember the painful uphill battle I had to go through just get that. All the bureaucracy, redtape, unnecessarily rigid rules, high cost and long wait I received from CIC/IRCC felt like a humiliation to me. Every document was scrutinized and every step had obstacle that fealt unreasonable (my TOEFL examiner ask me why I had to do the language test required by CIC, and I had to visit a notary to validate my Chinese national ID card). It felt uneasy but I understood that these were the rules that everyone had to go through, and moving and integrating into a new society was never meant to be easy. I went back to Canada in 2021 and 2024, and it was evident that the country I once called home had gone down the hill. The streets were screaming crime, unemployment, inflation, drug and filth, it's total social rot. As someone who went through the whole immigration process (and many of my friends who went through the same have left Canada for good, like myself), I attribute much of this to failed immigration policy. I cannot help but feel confused, angry, betrayed and humiliated when I look at the recent immigration policies of Canada and their results, and compare with what I had to go through. The feeling sums up to: Canada penalizes the hard-working and law-abiding people, and rewards the undeserved and the cheaters. Example: when the US creates wars in the Middle East, why does CANADA bear the cost of bringing in refugees? I never regretted moving back to China and East Asia, and I feel bad for those who still truly think of Canada as home, as I am one myself. When the leadership of a country deviates from pragmatism, reason and common sense, and instead embraces idealogies, hypocrisy and political optics, this is what happens. The prices are paid by everyone, immigrant or not. For this, Trudeau deserves a court trial for his incompetence and dereliction of duty; and the people of Canada need some honest and serious retrospection. I will share some words of wisdom by the late Lee Kwan Yew: “Whoever governs Singapore (LKY was the PM and founding father of Singapore) must have that iron in him. Or give it up. This is not a game of cards, this is your life and mine. I've spent a whole lifetime building this and as long as I'm in charge, nobody is going to knock it down.” I hope the clownish weakling politicians in Canada (and, in much of the western world nowadays) can be enlightened a little bit.

I wonder if they discussed how when Indian students who unalive themselves in Canada, the deaths are not treated as such. There are many families who have the remains of their kids (usually young males) repatriated and the death is left unclear. The gov’t of Canada has been obfuscating many such deaths. Was it the Canadian govt fully at fault for the deaths? Not quite… these students are often met with predatory individuals who take advantage of their vulnerable situations: such as predatory landlords who have sometimes 15 or more students renting one house, or unjust working conditions because the employer knows that the immigrants citizenship hopes are tied to the job, etc etc. Ultimately, it’s the Canadian government turning a blind eye to these realities and trying to make the deaths appear due to things other than unalive attempts. This shouldn’t be surprising considering the way the Canadian government has been pushing dystopian legislation around their medically assisted dying program (MAiD). Canada’s medically assisted dying program has the least guardrails of any program of that type in other countries. Not just this, but the legislation for MAiD comes at a time when Canada’s healthcare and mental healthcare systems are collapsing. Trudeau said he would address this with one his re-election promises in 2021: he promised 5 billion for mental health programs. I’ve worked in the field for almost 20 years with youth and that money never arrived, nor has any serious attempt to fund programs occurred since the brutal Canadian pandemic policies massively exacerbated the youth mental health crisis. Perhaps one day someone will be able to trace how the 5 Billion promised was send off in provincial transfers that did not benefit any programs and likely only helped pay for all the upper management, because Canada’s healthcare, education and mental health care systems are absurdly top-heavy. Canada becomes moral dystopian by the day, with regular folks (working class, blue collar, low-income) bearing the burden. Everyday more people join the rank of the oppressed regular people while a few who work in the government or favored industries are overpaid and the stats around all of this corruption are further obfuscated and buried. And as all this occurs, you see bureaucrats like the on in this video smug in their knowledge that most Canadians will never learn how dark the truth is.

I am a Korean international student studying in Canada. These types of news makes me really frustrated.. I heard that due to these reasons, immigration officers has been taking very long time to process study visa permits. I 100% agree with immigration officers that they need to carefully review the applications, because I also think things like this shouldn’t happen in any countries. But, I’m getting frustrated because this is delaying innocent international students’ visa process as well. I’ve finished my undergraduate studies and I decided to pursue master’s under a professor i met in my current university. I was very excited to study the field, and i applied for study extension visa months ago, and still haven’t gotten any updates from IRCC. So I couldn’t get enrolled in Fall semester. I’m still waiting, and i really hope that i can continue studying.. luckily my professor understood this situation and he said he can hold a position for me, but i’m still very anxious about all the situation. I hope all people who come to Canada are honest and don’t do illegal things. I really want them to realize that they are affecting students who just want to study. They are taking away the opportunity for others to learn.

I love Punjabis. They are the most humble and kind people to be around. Chardi Kala high spirits all around. I feel very good around them and don't feel judged. Being myself feels ok around them. They like to to take care of others. They will commonly ask you if you are OK and need water, food, anything. Langar/ community kichen is inbedded in culture and makes sure everyone eats in the same humble setting. They think communally and make sure to ask all parties how they feel about a particular topic, especially before making a decision. They appreciate when you try to understand them. I came here 25 years ago from India. While growing up, I would go to the terrace of my home and turn the antenna to get Cbc at night. I watched Air Farce One, the green show, NFB and Cbc and was always fascinated with Canada. I knew then when I was 20 that I will make Canada home. I wrote my IELTS ENGLISH test, studied here with good grades. And I did. I have an amazing career and young kids. And I have loved everyday of it. I have travelled coast to coast and to the great north. Heck I have been to more places in Canada with my job than other Canadians who are born and raised here. This is why I desperately wish there was an actual Libertarian party to vote for in elections! There is a party, but they have not gotten enough signatures to be able to run yet, I don't even know if there is an office or representative in Ontario right now! I wish! What about warehouse work? Apply to your 5 closest warehouses, I guarantee youll get in 1.. ALSO the government IS willing to help Canadians get little certifications like forklift, smartserve, CPR.. Career colleges can help with training (e.g - computer) as well as soft skills. I immigrated to Canada in 1996. This country was such a beautiful and peaceful place back then.. Unfortunately, these immigrants these days have no respect or courtesy for Canadian laws and other people. The majority of them come in, commit crimes, partake in protests that disrupt everyday Canadians just trying to get to work and support their families, all while collecting free money from the government, not to mention free health care and they do not even have the decency to simply follow the laws and regulations of this country. Why do I say this? Because here in India I personally know many people from Punjab and Haryana who go there. In both states, you can easily find many agents who reassure people that they can send them to Canada or the USA without much difficulty. You can also see the trend among Punjabis—many aspire to drive trucks and cars in Canada. In India, people often see Punjabis as if their only purpose in life is to go to Canada. I love Punjabi people, but I don’t like this mindset. 5. So, the people you see doing disgusting things are most likely illegal immigrants. Why? Because genuine people go there to educate themselves and contribute something meaningful to the culture—not to behave like those individuals. 6. I really hope Canada can recover from this. I have a friend who went there in 2015, and he once told me to visit the country. Canadians are truly amazing, and the natural beauty (except the winter!) is so nice. My Granparents, parents, settled the homestead in 1896 near Rossland BC. How it used to work, how things are supposed to work, is the Government serves the needs and demands of the people. The people don't serve the Government nor any Corporation or Public/Private Partnership. This means that the Government doesn't prevent people from doing what they do and they don't use force to extort the fruit of everyone's labor to the point of enslavement. In 1896 and throughout my Grandfather's life from 1902 to 1976, one would do for themselves if they weren't working for someone else. In other words, you found something needed be done, something the community around you required or was lacking, you opened shop and got after it. You can't work today because you require licensing for everything, you require permission for everything, everything is regulated. People have it in their minds that it's so much better today then it was then, that it's "safer". But it's not, that's a lie. My family, although never wealthy, ate good food, always had a roof over their heads, plenty of family around and always had something to do or at least could always find something to work at. Most importantly, they always had hope because they had freedom. No one has any hope anymore and the people coming here aren't just bringing their culture to overtake our culture, they are coming with anger. With envy, resentment and malice. My family didn't come here with those things, they came to Canada with hope and determination to integrate and prosper with freedom. The other side of my family fled Bolshevism when they left Russia and came here and that side had the exact same hope in freedom to work hard and prosper. Now all generational wealth, freedom, prosperity and hope is all but completely stolen. We don't need more regulations. We don't need more benefits. We don't need more Government. We need less, we need it all to go away because I know for a fact, you give people the freedom to go about their lives, the society or community they form, always tends towards peaceful, prosperous organization. You give people the freedom to build and produce and they'll get after it immediately and that opens the door for all other manner of trades and skills that just fill any hole in a community or society. There's nothing stopping us from providing for ourselves but a cartel Government in the business of extortion and human enslavement. Once we start expecting a Government to take care of us we've institutionalized prisoners who have lost all human dignity. When you "buy in" to all the rhetoric of so called autonomy, ask yourself, how autonomous are you without a family? Just because you're alone in a box in a city, stacked one on top of the other, weighted down by a landslide of rules, collecting benefits from the Government, doesn't make you autonomous. People say, "no one can afford a family". Yet those coming in have large families and they seem to be making out just fine. It's the brainwashing of our culture that set us up. Over time we've convinced the proper way to do things is everyone to grow up and go their own way, leaving each other relying on benefits from the government in old age or illness or whatever calamity might strike in life. There's always something that comes along. With family you have human resource, a plethora of skills and you have your "insurance", free of extortion. Everything that comes from a government is conditional and sooner or later their conditions rule over our condition, even though it's our labor that provides for them. The answer isn't more benefits, as I've said. The answer is simply less government, so we can all get to the business of providing for ourselves and helping our communities prosper. We need to do this with family because alone, we are all isolated and powerless. No one stands alone and a house divided cannot stand.

The Liberals and their woke ideology are ruining Canada. Canada's aging population means we need immigration, but not when things like housing, jobs, and healthcare etc are already beyond maxed out. They've been bringing in too many 'refugees'-unvetted and likely a large portion of which may not actually be refugees, and then there's the ridiculously high number of 'temporary foreign workers' - the majority of these are people with values, hygiene and morals that are not acceptable or cohesive in our country. Unfortunately many are muslim and have beliefs in sharia law which dates back to the 1400's and is primitive and contrary to our Western values and morals. I am hoping Canada is not too far gone to save (although I have my doubts).

A reckoning is coming for the people who do not want to assimilate to our customs and norms Canadians tolerate a lot of abuse and just smile and look the other way hoping people will realize how they are acting eventually and change their behavior the people from the middle east your gonna start a civil war. A very good move. I hope genuine people will be looked after and criminals, bad elements & weirdos will be checked thoroughly. However I hope the honest and sincere people will be recognised. The IRCC policy of refusing Visas to one and all with the same statement of overstaying and presumption that the visitors will not return is a standard excuse of visa refusal. This should be more foolproof and effective.

I thought trump would be different this time around. I was really hoping for his success, but not more than two months into his presidency he fired the very people that voted for him around the board. He crashed the stock market. He became Putins puppet, and he showed the world what a bully is like.

Donald, in his whole time as a 'leader' (which he clearly isn't) never ever was able to even close hold a speach like this. And he never will be. He is just not a smart man. Since I began working in 1980 at 15 years old I praised all of materials and tools that I bought from your country Canada. All of them still work 45 years later. Well, dear Americans, many smart people warned you, but you didn't want to listen and did everything to ensure Trump's political survival and voted for him a second time. \nIt is very clear what Trump wants to do to the USA, and has already done to some extent! He wants a presidency like the Russian, Chinese and North Korean presidents have. \nA presidency with unlimited power, no Congress, no Senate, no independent courts.\nI can only hope, the world can only hope, that there are still enough Americans who will fight against this.

Donald does not, nor has ever, understood politics or geo-politics. He approaches things as 'business deals' amongst businesses but Countries are not businesses.
