But we take great offense when our sovereign nation is dismissed as just another U.S. state, ignoring our 150+ years of history and the sacrifices of our soldiers who fought on the frontlines—often before the U.S.—in WWI and WWII. After 9/11, we stood by America, fighting and dying alongside you in Afghanistan, just as we did in Normandy. Canada has been the U.S.'s closest ally for the last 70 years, and the idea of a fentanyl border crisis (until recently) is simply misleading.\n\nIf the roles were reversed, would you boo at a hockey game? Trump has destroyed trust in US allies, and it can ont be repaired easy. Trust can be destroyed in minutes, but it takes many years, maybe decades, before it can be gained again. It affects not only what US experiences right now with Canada and Mexico. Be sure that even Taiwan Australia and all other Asian allies are questioning right now if USA can be trusted. Imagine, Trumps breaks a treaty with Canada and Mexico which he personally has established in his first presidency and sold to his people as the greatest deal that has ever been archieved. Trump is right now destroing world order which has been established mainly by USA after WW2.\nI heared, that there are rumors, that Trump might be a Russian KGB agent since 1987. I don't know if that is true, but it would explain a lot of why Trump is acting as he does - it is not in the interest of USA, pressurizing/blackmailing/offending/humiliating US allies and destroying US and foreign economies. This is practically enacting a wishlist of foreign dictators like Putin and Xi Chin Ping.\nIt certainly will not make America great again, but poorer, weaker and internationally isolated. it will be US people that will suffer the most.

I am a Republican leaning American who did not vote for Trump (never voted for him), and I urge every country to stand up to bullying tactics of Trump. I am relatively rich, so this fluctuating market or rising egg prices will not affect me; poorer people than me will be affected greatly. And ironically, these poorer people voted for Trump. I just don't understand it because if I am a poor American, I would have voted for Bernie Sanders because at least the guy has some integrity unlike most politicians. And I am sorry to say I would have voted for Kamala Harris if she were not so dumb. Even though I lean Republican in that my values align more with Republican ideals, I consider whether a candidate has strong integrity and found none in Trump and Kamala Harris.

It's simple replace 1.5 million jobs we stand to loose with factories here in Canada with products we would have bought from the state's. There r the jobs back. Then make deals with other countries and in 4 years when Trump is done and the state's want to work with us with tariffs again say sorry we have other partners don't have the extra supplies. The comments in support of us are great - and I would hope that the verbal support will translate into active measures such as trade preferences, trade deals, military agreements and all the other things we will need as allies with dangerous bedfellows in this strange new world order.

Canada (and many other countries) spent decades supporting the maintenance of US hegemony. Look what it got us? To a position where we're pretty much greatly dependent on, and at the mercy of the US.
