I loved the speech of PM Trudeau- but one thing he kept saying is wrong. Our government did not do this - One man did this via executive orders. He does not care who he hurts. Trudeau resigned as prime minister because he was deeply unpopular in Canada. He proceeded to suspend parliament while President Trump threatened these Tariffs and then immediately left to Europe to posture with European leaders. I have a hard time believing that our government finds so much money to allow illegals to function. I’m a veteran so I have had the opportunity to visit other countries and you can’t pull that crap anywhere but here. You can’t work or rent or anything without proper paperwork. I went through this twice during COVID. Two tenants stopped paying one after the other and lost over 50k. Sadly, the only option is to take her to small claims court but in order to do that you need an eviction order and sheriff documents. Even if he does get to that point, they can o lay garnish her wages and at that point, she can avoid paying and jump from place to place changing addresses info and job details. Professional renters know the system and they work it to screw the landlords. One tenant I had actually believed that if they rent the house they “own the home”. Even if you call the police they won’t do anything. If the government just allowed the police to arrest and charge these people I think it would help but they don’t. It’s horrible. I’m actually thinking of selling my home because of the financial burden it’s been post COVID. I have good tenants now but only after using most of the equity to pay off the damage and missed rent from the last 3 tenants….

Many countries in the west are challenged by similar things such as aging populations and unaffordability. \n\nIt works in a cycle: governments and corporations take turns screwing over the general population and most people cannot afford anything. Corporation does A then government does B; government does X then corporation does Y. On the surface, government is _trying_ to do a good thing, but it backfires quite often, leaving the average person feeling scorned. \n\nChief among these corrective measures was mass immigration, and because there was already a climate of indignation, the introduction of too-many-immigrants was a huge slap in the face. Instead of making sure Canadians were better taken care of, the government responded to the corporations--not the people. \n\nGDP numbers mean nothing to the average Canadian person if their quality of life is in decline. The only people still in favour of mass immigration are those who do not have to confront it on a day-to-day basis. Even Canadian-born (or even Canadian Citizens of 5+ years) minorities, think the immigration problem is too much.

It is why I sacrifice my good life, my European education and a lot of money to came here, to have even a better life and opportunities and give the best from myself to society, but I see that it is one way transaction, and we are the site which doesn’t receive anything back. I believe Canada has nothing to offer for Europeans and that will not change. I believe that Canadians need to start about emigration in more smart way, not quantity but quality, and then they need to offer something as an exchange. Canada needs skilled migrants more than skilled migrants need Canada, and it is time to stop thinking that Canada is so generous that accept skilled migrants and force them to work in the store or as an Uber because of lack of work and high cost of life ? This is why small amount of Europeans or Americans come here, so only people from Asia and Africa maybe see some reason to came.
