In this case, I have very little sympathy for Venezuelan migrants. From what I've read, these are the same people who supported Maduro and his corrupt government. They wanted free $h1+ and got nothing more than corruption. Now too many of them want to come to the U.S. not to earn their way like many other groups that came before them... but to look for more free stuff. Look that the experience that other countries have had with many of them and they too are dismayed by their sense of entitlement.

I am suprised at how we down play the cost of our life options. Leaving Nigeria for Canada for the sake of your kids is huge and will come at a cost. Why make it sound like you are entitled to all you used to have while taking advantage of what the new life provides? In simple terms you can't eat your cake and have it. Relocation is an intentional decision and we all need to brace up for the differences it may bring to our lives. Prioritize what you value and proceed accordingly. Don't keep longing for Egypt when you are heading for your promised land. By the way we can reverse migrate if we so choose...no one is stoping you.

If this continues what are Americans going to do. We work long hours on jobs for our checks and before we get it money is taken out hardly leaving enough money to pay bills and buy food . Every Canadian I know that travels to other countries goes out of their way to let people know they are not Americans, many Americans put Canadian flags on their backpacks, bags and suitcases not realizing nobody falls for that anymore. I have witnessed so many rude entitled Americans, have been treated rudely many times until the person finds out we are Canadian.\nWatched a man and woman yell at a guy selling souvenirs in Paris because he would not take US cash. \nSlunk out the door because we were afraid they would think we were American.

The gun culture is insane, i would never move to the states, i do not wish to be shot. I would never visit the states for any reason.\nEdit, Canadians HAVE guns. My 63 year old mother in law bought a shot gun for her hikes, cuz bears and cougars. Grandpa is a marksman and at age 87 STILL competes in shooting competitions and regularly wins.\nThe problem is how Americans FEEL about guns. They are toys, they are something they are entitled to.\nAmericans are armed, ready, and just WAITING to use their guns on an intruder to defend themselves.

The thing about the job health insurance that a lot of Americans don't really think of as a business case: If a person has their insurance tied to their job, they will almost never be able to move to another one if they develop a life-threatening condition. One thing I can say is the USA tends to get bright fast once they catch on to how big a problem actually is, so here's to hoping that happens soon because brother, you have a mess of problems on your plate. \n\nThis isn't the only thing, but FWIW, I have had multiple opportunities to move to the US for work, and I work in a field where I can command a very good salary, but I choose to not live there. I'd move to Belize, or a Nordic EU country instead.
