Hi Abhu n Niku,\n\nI always love your fact based information. I wish you did more of surveys or interviews of Indian immigrants in Canada. Ideally different people from different states in India have different experiences in Canada. Plus previous qualifications, some students here do not even get up and go to college or university to attend lectures and we blame Canada for not giving them jobs. Blame Indian movies that show 2 extremely opposite sides of lifestyles of immigrants in Canada. Either as high profile business people as if they own the country or as poor labourers with 2 or more sharing a common room in a basement. Improve the perspective of people by improving the quality of movies based on immigration to western countries. You can find students who got job, car and house in Canada in 5 years and you can also see students who unfortunately couldn’t do so much. We cannot generalize things.

Canada has to start recognising degrees from other countries. Here in B.C. we have emergency rooms closing overnight due to lack of staffing. We need doctors and nurses yet the barriers for those immigrating to get their degrees recognised mean many never qualify.\n\nCanada also needs to look at who we are admitting in and to terminate the family unification policy. When immigration was helping the country grow there was a different demographic coming in. Often it was single men or young married couples. As they came by themselves they assimilated into the mosiac of the country. When you concentrate on immigrants from one country instead of assimilating they setup ethnic communities. \n\nLook into what study groups have said that is contributing to gang violence. It's ethnic groups that have the grandparents, parents and grand kids all living in one home. The grandparents want the grand kids to adhere to their native culture. Unfortunately by time you get to the grand kids they are Canadian. They speak English/French depending where they live with little interest in speaking their ethnic language. There is cultural conflict within the home hence street life is where they find love and caring.\n\nSome cultures are not as community minded. Part of the high cost of renting/housing is based on greed not need. In my own community I know of apartment units now renting at 2,500 - 4,000/month owned by the same people that even five years back you could have rented for 500 - 800. There is no justification for that percentage of increase other than greed.\n\nJob opportunities. Summer employment for school kids is going down yearly. You see local business that use to hire students over the summer month claiming they can't find any workers. They bring in TFW yet Canadian students can't find work. You can tell the owners nationality of a business by the nationality of the workforce. A local store bought by a east Indian two years ago which at the time had a diverse workforce is now entirely staffed by east Indians. Yet who screams racist? \n\nCanada definitely needs to reconsider its immigration policy and bring in major changes.

As a 905 Canadian (Toronto suburb), I want to move to the USA just for the climate difference... Politically, people are regional. I loved visiting Florida just for the difference. Buffalo wasn't enough.

I am an immigrant and I love this country. It’s a privilege to be here and not a right. Problem is people don’t want to integrate and accept Canadian values. On top government does not grow infrastructure in with population boom and honestly it shouldn’t be this much at all. It’s hurtful to see it be in decline like this. I remember celebrating Canada Day and being proud, now it’s all lost.

Canada should take in just a small number of immigrants who are highly skilled and only if they are specifically needed - when they can’t find a Canadian to fill it. \nThe universities and bs colleges are making hand over fist while people from the third world, are using the studies to get easy access to our country and corporations love the cheap labour.

I am English and when in the sixties I wanted to live in B C Canada I had to go to the Canadian Embassy in London with my husband for an interview….How I loved it, My husband went first and got a job straight away and i went six weeks later …My son and grandchildren are Canadian but sadly none now live in Canada…….Trudeau has ruined your wonderful country and the influx of so called migrants has destroyed it ..We now in England are overflowing with people flooding this country that have no business being here ..Why don’t they stay in their own country and build it up instead of coming to ours and dragging it down to the cutter….

It's because everywhere in Canada is turning into India. Our ways are being bulldozed out of existence by their ways. It's not all bad. But people want to be able to live the lifestyle they grew up with. Restaurants and bars being bought up and all turned into Indian restaurants. 30 within 4 blocks is ridiculous. All i hear when I go out for a walk is obnoxiously loud Indian music. To be clear, I love Indian culture, food, customs and views on family. But I think it's so important for Canada's identity to keep a variety and not have 1 culture with no interest in co-existing with the beautiful blend that is Canada.

As an Indian student, i would like to share with you my perspective \n1) you will never see me dancing in public, blasting music and littering \n\nI actually spend my sundays cleaning plastic from trails \n\n2) i am a full time student for 4 years funding over 90 grand for a bachelor on top of that paying my taxes and paying 1100$ a month for rent being limited to 24 hours a week I do not work outside campus I work the job the college provided to me \n\nThe problem comes up when people use the 1 year and 6 month diploma program to enter the country and work here full time \n\nThey associate themselves only with indians mainly because they cant speak the English language fluently \nTherefore they associate with the exact people they associated with back home \n\nHow will they adapt to a new country if they hang out with the same people \n\n\nI came to canada with a goal \n\nTo make Canadian friends \nLearn about Canadian culture \nStart a new life \nAnd work my ass off to get my degree \n\n\nMost people move here to make more money \n\nThey sell their land and do so \n\nPlease do not associate hard working indians who adapt and leave their past behind with these people who have come here purely to exploit the system\n\n\nTrust me I know it's hard to hear this but good Indians do exist. I have so many Canadian friends who love me as much as I love them. Brampton crime rates are 30% lower than the national average Violent crimes in Brampton are 27% lower than the national average - Just saying. As one who live next to Brampton, I don't see any issues there. Walking around Brampton is fine.. it was WAY worse in the 80s. The crime rate has been dropping each year over the last 20 years. Sorry no sympathy for the landlord... You know the risks. You just want to make a fast buck off other people. We have to stop gouging our own. Big business/the real rich/government all love to watch the lower classes fight each other for pennies.

I love how he mentions in the end about the housing crisis but does not address it. Housing has become unaffordable for most new homeowners yet we got all these landlords stocking up on more properties just to make more money for themselves. Yes laws need to be changed so tenants can't abuse it, but laws also needs to be changed so people aren't owning multiple homes while rest can't even afford a primary residence. I don't like going into bidding wars to purchase my first property when the people I am bidding against already own multiple properties.

Man I love reading the comments in this video! We also face a similar challenge in other countries that housing is a crisis and governments keep bringing in all sorts of immigrants, from refugees to highly skilled people (like myself). I have switched 5 cities and the story either gets more worse or less worse. Half a year searching for a decent apartment? Some search for years! It's a full time job. The government gets back to my request after many months! Foreigners offices are packed with applications and citizenship is taking years long now. Getting a doctor appointment (psychological issues) within a year is hard, unless you pay from pocket or are in grave danger. We are being squeezed in here and they started new loose immigration policies to be more attractive to foreigners. Address the quality of life at the same time!

Yall are coming to canada and we are trying to get out. You are not doing yourself a favour by coming here, this is not the same country it was years back. People here have become more american; rude, disrespectful, overly egotistical, our streets arent safe anymore, car thefts at an all time high and no one talks about the amount of random acts of violence coming from the homeless in my area, housing prices surging YoY by atleast 11%/year. Cost of living has increased 4-10x on certain things in the grocery stores. This is SUCH a puff piece completely one sided that dismisses legitimate concerns as the only reason being xenophobic......Canada has always welcomed people but it was done at a lot slower pace where people had a chance to assimilate and build a life. You can't add over a million people a year with different cultures and pretend it's going to be ok. Ignoring the massive housing crisis, it's a culture crisis. A lot of the people coming do not share Canadian values, period. Canadians are noticing a massive change in the country they love seemingly overnight. You go out in any city and you barely see white people anymore. It's jarring. It was made into an amazing country by certain people and now it seems new immigrants are treated better than citizens. Everyone is in favor of immigration done the right way, but that isn't what's happening and natural born Canadians have every right to be upset that the country is being ruined in a way they don't want.

I'm an immigrant to Canada. I've been here for 35 years (came here when I was 6). The current immigration/migration/ayslum seeker rates have gone completely insane. It isn't racist to think it's gone overboard. I went to very very multicultural schools. I grew up in Toronto and have lived downtown for 20 years now. I love our multiculturalism but there are limits to immigration if there simply isn't an infrastructure to support countless hundreds of thousands of people trying to move into the city each year. It's not sustainable at all. The roads aren't getting bigger, the housing zoning isn't getting easier, new hospitals aren't being built. You cannot try and cram 4 million people in a city built for like 2 million people. People moving to Canada simply do not realize just how absurdly expensive this place has become. What's the better alternative being poor in India or being poor in Canada? Because unless you are making 100k a year you are going to basically be poor in Toronto.\n\nThe big big difference as someone who has lived downtown Toronto for 20 years is now the homeless are very multicultural. 10 years ago it wasn't like that as much. Now people from every race and every background are at risk of homelessness. It's a rate race, it's a very competitive city for housing and jobs and as soon as you aren't in making $$$$$ you will fall behind.

The funny thing is once they land on USA soil. Then they tell everyone one how much they love there home, country. So go back home and fight for your freedom and stop been a burden on other people

A Sri Lankan who always gets misidentified as Indian reading the comments here. ? I moved here with the genuine purpose of studying for my LLM, after considering several countries. I was offered a scholarship from my university (a top ranking public university) I know several of my Indian colleagues who came to study & now work in universities & firms. I know educated people who came here from SL, India & other South Asian countries who came to study with the genuine purpose of studying & now pursuing PhDs here & elsewhere. I understand how concerned the whole immigration issue is for Canadians & new commers like us. I’ve always loved to study in Canada & now that I’m here just to see all these negative sides is truly heartbreaking. I was able to secure a decent apartment & decent job (both me & my husband)& so are my friends & colleagues. I love Canada & means no harm. I’d love to use my knowledge & serve developing countries like mine one day. I kindly request anyone reading my comment, please don’t judge. I support immigration but there are issues and we need to be able to discuss it without assumptions or name calling. \n\nYes, housing, rentals, and houselessness are all issues as are lack of doctors. That said, we never discuss the million little things. There's more litter. It takes longer to order fast food. Our winters are lonelier as people hibernate. 4am phone calls home disrupt sleep and cause stress and tension. General language barriers. Cultural barriers, I personally love referencing movies. The prejudice migrants bring. Is our National IQ increasing or decreasing. These are legit issues and questions, I could name 1000 more.

We are not nice, we are passive aggressive, we love foreigners who come to this country to launder their dirty money in real estate (up up go the housing prices), the RCMP is the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (not patrol) and Mexicans who have no previous ties or status in Canada DO need a visa to enter. Canada has accepted an insane amount of Uber / amazon driving immigrants over the past few years to boost the GDP, unfortunately our infrastructure across the country is lacking. We don't have enough homes, schools, hospitals, doctors, good jobs for the people that are already here. Immigrants are conned and sold a lie, going to the USA only makes sense.
