Great video ladies! My parents moved to Toronto thinking it will be a better quality of life however as years have gone by we have realized that we only work and have been separated from family for way too many years. It's a great price to pay. A person doesn't need a lot to be happy.

I'm sorry but you're coming off a bit precious this is a worldwide problem it's not just happened in Canada I think you do need to get over yourselves a little bit don't you just love First World Problems if you think of America is better why don't you move there I guarantee you won't like it there you have to pay for all your healthcare if you can't just go away and die and that country. I’m moving out few years agoes out of Canada and so happy indeed living in ?? so much freedom depending wich states you want to live freedom on money , health benefit , outdoors indoors activities etc…Canada it’s an empty country, empty land too cold and depress living and please check the population of Canada only worth one states (Texas)USA population. Canada only need immigrants to build their country and in terms of Govn professions their are very selective and it’s hard to get through if your immigrant unless your a scientist or engineers still yiu need to move to other parts of Canada to get hired . Anyway I’m sorry to brings this up but I’m myself a hard worker working in a nursing field it’s very depressing to live in Canada . wow you 2 ungrateful are complaining about 30 to 40% taxes, well why do you think third world countries are at at point they are? people are poor because they lack economic opportunities, good schools, teachers, new way of teaching the kids that they haven't even heard in the countries you were born in, the overall lack of corruption, when anytime you have to deal with any kind of public official for any kind of permit that might need, well build infrastructures, good public Universities, and a decent healthcare system, an independent well functioning judiciary system that is far less corrupted than the countries you were born at............ You 2 are delusional, in the south of USA they don't tax that much, you should see how the Blacks are treated, 2 months that the city of Jackson in Mississippi has no running water, I recommend you 2 to move there, and enjoy the low taxes.... BY the way look as well at the mortality rates for all the Child births in the south, and life expectancy rates.... And trust me I am an immigrant myself, so I know that people are not working as much as here in North America, but or you inherited your house from a family member or you are living in their homes, in that case yes you can sit and do nothing, and if you find a job you will get paid a few hundred dollars per month........ Try to put food on the table with that salary, even in lower cost countries... trust me they struggle 3 times as I do here in North America...

My family and I moved to Canada in 2010 under the FSW program, and we don't regret it. I agree with some of the points mentioned by the two ladies but again, it all depends on the person's perspective and experience. As for me, I was able to land a job that conforms to my educational attainment and didn't need more schooling since IT is the same wherever you go. Yes, we pay more taxes but we see where it is going. My son had free education until grade 12 and we have universal healthcare that other countries are trying to imitate. There are of course pros and cons to residing in a country but you always have the choice to leave and find your best nest somewhere.

Immigrants, especially Africans usually stay in megalopoles, these big cities like Paris, New York... But local people tend to move out to the countryside, where things are still more affordable. Why? Because that's what these locations are designed for, to attract the workforce from around the world, and keep the machine running, while the real benefits go to the local monarchs and local middle class who leaves those places. So of course, they don't expect you to come to their country, do so well, and take over. People need to be smarter with all this and learn to understand systems and megastructures, rather than small bits and pieces. The whole picture.

You are right ladies , I’ve been living here for 4 years , the health care system is messed up, you have to wait several months or over a year to get an appointment with a specialist, taxes are very very high , you need to have 2 jobs to be able to pay for expenses , I was in college our teacher told us ( we were like 30 students ( his kids were born and raised and Canada and they moved to England and get a better job $$$ and they left , the teacher at the end told us become citizens and go …… to USA , I have 2 jobs and I’m paying taxes like a crazy , I can’t handle that anymore is affecting my mental health

I agree with almost everything these lovely ladies say as a person of caribbean decent. The health care system is greatly exaggerated and the overall system is such that the harder you work, the more they take from you. There are no incentives for existing businesses or prospective startups with great ideas ? to implement their plan. They rather move to the states. The boring part I don’t 100 percent agree because I think that that is relative. As people from different places and cultures all over the world, what might be exciting for one group would not be for another and vice versa. So I think that we need to create our own excitement and fun. And this depends on social connections sometimes. All in all, I loved what you 2 lovely ladies shared ????

After reading the comments it's funny how people still thinks where you are born or your country origin is home. Imagine thinking that's the definition of home to begin with, sometimes I Just shake my head when I see people using such content to define home. Home dosen't necessarily have to be your country origin or whatsoever. I personally would define home as anywhere with the best of contents I seek along with my Characteristics being blended. \nAlso I don't get why people are criticizing those who said they won't come back, they have there various reasons for moving abroad, it might be for a better life, academic, security and lots other stuffs. I do have to say if you're actually worried about the cold as a factor in moving to Canada it is way less than you think. In Southern Ontario it gets to be -40C about 3-4 times a winter, and in the summer it gets to 40C 3-4 times a summer, so we have pretty diverse weather, what you should worry about is how many different kinds of clothes you'll need to buy to actually go through the four seasons.\n\nJust a quick note on Quebéc, even if you did learn french you will most likely be yelled at in french as they are for the most part very protective of french Canada and see themselves as a different country, they don't like other people very much, and the french is different to french french. Cool place to visit but not so much to live in.

If you already used to life around friends and families back home Canada is not for you. Quite frankly Canada is for natural born loners.\nFact, You will definitely feel more at home in the u.s than Canada mainly due higher immigrants population.\nIf you moved to Canada as a teenager or was born by immigrants parents then Canada is for you. You both make valid points about Canada. I am 2nd generation Canadian. I do feel like its expensive here and Even I have a hard time landing a job. (Recently got laid off from my career job, they said I didn't have enough experience to work there). My friends who aren't single and live with their partner, have an easier time living here compared to people who are single & living by themselves. \n\nNight life is boring here. However, daytime life specially in the summer is better. I feel like Canada is more for an outdoor person. Depending where you live, there are beaches, mountains, trails, & lakes to explore. Some parts of Canada even look tropical! We have hot springs here as well!\n\nFor the leisure & work life balance, I feel like that depends on the person. I used to work 2 jobs (not because I was bored or needed the money at the time), I just wanted to save more money & help my friend out with his business. I felt like I had good balance of work & leisure. I hanged out with my friends on Friday & Saturdays then I had my 'me' days on Sundays.\n\nIf you are going to move here, do your research, also I don't think people consider their countries dollar into the equation, what I mean is, if you want to convert your money to Canadian... you might have less money then you have. Example, at this moment, 1 Mexican Peso is 0.066 Canadian dollars, therefor people coming from Mexico might have a hard time afford things in Canada compared to a person who is moving from USA. Welcome to Canada first if all. Why do people choose to leave their own homeland, then complain once they move to their chosen location? Canada has wonderful opportunities for anyone coming here, but if you think it’s a bed of roses, your dead wrong. Do your homework , research, decide what’s best for you. Live here for a few years , decide then. If it’s got you, move on, move out, your choice. But like any country there are good as well as bad. You can live a good life in Canada. One of the top issues is being black. Seen as black and identified as black when you leave a predominantly Black Country. \nWhen I watch the various Realestate shows of white people buying property abroad as second home or just packing up and moving. I always say it must be nice! Because the reality is they can see them self almost everywhere unless they choose to go into a remote area then that’s the only exception but even then as long they learn the language and respect the culture they are good they are liked welcomed and even seen as fascinating. Not saying they don’t have to struggle but the colour of their skin is the least! \nAmerica is great if your trying to be self made, be your own business owner, and other random ventures you want to dabble in. But to just go there and be a regular teacher, doctor, lawyer, engineer to the low and middle class you’ll end up with the same financial issues and struggles as a result. You gotta now cater to the rich and famous wealthy people but then it’s back to never being home and not enough time for family. \nThe reality is if we could make the money we make here in North America and Uk back home in in the Caribbean and specific countries in Africa it would be a dream come true and that goes for other communist countries too. You truly have to know what makes you happy. Make money but enjoy life it might mean living below your means even though you can can afford a bit better life style. People do it all the time back home (not because they want to I know) but for some reason when you move abroad a one bedroom for your single self is to small, the car under $24k isn’t good enough, you don’t want your kids to share a room so you need a bigger house and the list goes on and on. \nCanada is boring if your not in a major city with money to spend you know why? Because people forget the population of the entire country of Canada is only a 3rd, 4th, 10th of the population of certain countries that immigrants came from and in the case of the US population it’s 100x more than Canada. So of course there’s more opportunities there. \nAnd finally imagine if more countries didn’t need visas to travel? They really would just come to make money and go back home or live bicoastal. Even just the freedom of travel half of the immigrants would of settled elsewhere before the year was up or go back home.

The thing is, there is a lot of hype about the popular western countries among the migrants from countries prone to emigration. The issue is that migrants don't do enough research before jetting off. They only see the surface benefits from afar and get carried away. It is migrants who need to do their homework before moving.

Bad things about Saskatchewan:\n-A LOT of snow, A LOT\n- negative 30c is the norm in winter, summer usually plus 25c (It's COLD)\n-housing prices aren't as cheap as the video says... sure you can buy a place for $280,000 :) ...an apartment. \nA new family house made in 2012 costs $550,000, an old one made in 1980 costs $330,000.\n- Not a lot of bang for your buck. Yes, there are jobs in the major cities but the pay isn't so great unless you are a nurse or work in health care. (Best province for upcoming nurses btw) Minimum wage for the win! \n-As I said previously, minimum wage for the win! There are jobs but you don't get paid enough to live without a roommate or almost be constantly broke.\n-Rent is okay. If you DO manage to get a decent paying job, like a teacher, plumber, doctor, etc, rent is cheap.\n-Expensive retirement. Thinking the healthcare is great for seniors? It is. But, get ready to give every last penny to your senior home. A neighbour got a quote from a local seniors home for him and his wife, $65,000 per year (MINIMUM) for the 2 of them. That's how much the old folks home costed.\n-You need a car. If you want to visit outside the major cities, you need a car. In the cities you can survive traffick by bus, but it is better with a car.\n-You can't see northern lights a lot. Not from the cities. You have to go north, north, north, out in the middle of nowhere.\n\nGood things about Saskatchewan: \n-No cougars. Bears and wolves live here, mainly in the north.\n-People are friendly. There isn't as much crime in the 2 major cities, Prince Albert does have a lot though just like the video said, so I'd steer clear of that place.\n-Great education. Good place to raise a family.\n-Great healthcare. Has most covered in universal healthcare I think out of every province. Seniors like to move to Saskatchewan for retirement. It's a great place to retire if you have the money to move.\n-Lots of local stuff to see. A lot of local shops, parks, camp grounds, etc.\n-Rent is cheap. It's cheaper than Vancouver or Toronto.\n-Food prices are alright. Not good, not bad, just okay. Even a poor single mother can buy some food I think.\n-Lots of land. There is lots of flat land here. Not that you could own it all lol But it is pretty to look at.\n\nHighlights/Best people to move here:\n-nurses\n-immigrants for fast food jobs\n-rich seniors\n-rich families (good place to raise a family)\n\nPeople not good to move here:\n-single people\n-poor seniors

Canada, country of homeless and trash. I'm so sorry for Canada. Most things about a good Canada are not true, Including clean cities - beaches, and forests. It's a big lie. The first time I arrived in Vancouver in 2018, I was shocked. As soon as I left the airport door, I saw tissue, disposable glasses, and other garbage left in the city. The further I went, the more I saw them. Before I moved to Canada, I lived in Georgia, Armenia, Turkey, Serbia, The United States, and for a short time in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Netherland, Germany, and England, but I have never seen the amount of garbage that people leave in different Canadian cities. Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and Quebec are no less than Vancouver. Canadian and Canada Governments don't care about this tragedy. I think everything that says about Canada as a clean and powerful culture is not true. You don't need to travel to Canada to see this. Just watch some videos about walking in downtown Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and Quebec. You will find the truth. Impossible for you to walk in a Canadian city and you don't see the dark side of that. Everywhere you will see garbage. You will never see this in Europe, Australia, the United States, Japan, and Korea. This amount of waste is not even seen in Malaysian, Indonesian, or Thailand cities. It is impossible for you to use public transport and not see a lot of garbage at stations or on the route. You will be surprised to find a lot of garbage even in the woods - by the rivers and on the beaches in Canada. I wish the Canadians woke up and had no enmity with their country.

All Canada not only Vancouver it’s very isolated.\nPeople can’t afford to buy a house because the house marketing is 3 times the price compared to USA. The houses have shitty materials compared to my original country, and you simply can’t built by your own and that’s why every price rises.\nAnother issue you didn’t mention it’s there is no scholarships, it’s incredible expensive to get a proper education like university, and even so, they no offered scholarships. In Mexico almost everyone can reach the opportunity to study to be anything (lawyers, doctors) AND there is why you can get professional services everywhere. Here in Canada the business never have profesional services (like a real Human Resources, who studies for 5 years to be the best influence in a company, or a real engineering taking care of the machines in a plant. Canada only hire the cheap hand to avoid paying and I can understand it, but if more people could study more money moves in the country.\nAnother issue is there is not any public transportation into the cities or provinces, so if you don’t have a car, a driver license (it’s not easy to get one) and pay the super expensive insurance (it’s incredible 10 times more expensive than in Mexico) your can’t move from the place you are. Because of the weather you simply can’t move in a bike.\nPeople live just for pay rent, buy some groceries and buy some pre owned cloths in the thrift store.\nAnother problem it’s many rules to open a small bussines (like selling some food) \nHealth care it’s not exactly free: you need to pay for your prescriptions out of the hospital or if you never been hospitalized. And it’s very expensive to pay for them. You have to wait (to be true emergencies are different, they are good on that) you have to wait like 12-24 months to get an appointment with a specialist (gynecologist, etc) dental is not covered. \n\nExcuse my English I know it’s not very good but I love your video and I had to left my comments

I agree that it is boring, cold, expensive, high tax high services, I mean people didn’t work for a year and got paid plenty for nothing. Taxes are incremental based on income as they should be. Coming from a major Latin American city, you have no idea what it is to live under fear of assault or harm at any moment, having corrupt politicians, police, and people in general. You are privileged having been born here because it is much easier to make a living, with good laws, you should go to places where people drink on the streets and pee and shit everywhere. I’m sure there are better places in the world but you will never feel like at home, and each place will have it’s own difficulties. I don’t think we all need to live in the same place but don’t believe that you are able to move to any place in the world if you weren’t Canadian.

Some of my relatives moved to the states and instead of separating they bought a big house and lived together. I know westerners wouldn't understand but we as humans need each other.

However if you are coming from a different culture it’s not easy. But with effort you can mix with your new society.\nDon’t expect the same culture or surroundings though. It is a very insightful video about what aspects of lifestyle can be very depressing for people. Also, habits define your life. People are not the most highly social in the USA. I moved to Mexico. I missed the tropics and I missed a less planned social life. At the same time, I think the economic pressures that people live in Africa and Latin America need to be addressed. Stay home and work on improving economics for your African or Latin American nations. Trading in extended family and the love of the community for money and loneliness is not worth it. What is worth it is an effort put in to improve the finances of nations with strong communities. The best of both worlds. Excellent video from EBS scholars.

Block parties, cook outs, neighborhood meetings, bus trips to the beaches, weddings and Saturday clean ups were all apart of our past community's. Yes some still exist. However, anytime Blacks in America have demanded equity, justice, education, health rights, human rights, and fair housing, we are met often with a back lash. Suddenly, rents go up. Houses have doubled or tripled in increase. Crime waves have made it almost impossible for people to come out and relax freely. Political changes have also played a major roll. Neighborhoods have been redlined. Even where one goes to vote has been moved. White racism and fear, entire industry's have moved put of key areas. So thete is a natural break down. Neighborhood meets come to a end and different organizations from schools, to planting trees to parking all get affected due to such changes. Local small businesses that knew each family members also close up and leave. Its not a question of oh you have everything you need in your American house. That is not it! Its more complex. The lack of kids playing out front or the older ladies keeping watch have disappeared also due to no rent control policies.
