Another note regarding fentanyl, as an American I do not see it as a Canadian/Mexican problem. Canada nor Mexico want to sell Fentanyl. Drugs are a United States problem. We, citizens of the United States are the problem. It’s time to look at ourselves instead of blaming the rest of the world. Lets stop being the worlds largest drug market.

If the American population knew not to try every kind of drug, fentanyl, cocaine, et al,, shipments would stop immediately. Are the Americans forced to consume the drugs? Simply stop taking drugs and they won't come into your country.

Indians have used Canada like a flop house. Indians go to diploma mills and try to use it as a backdoor to stay in Canada. They take over Canadian communities and try to turn them into India - making the locals feel like foreigners in their own home. They're also involved in a lot of crime. Americans have stated that the top nationality entering the US illegally from Canada is Indian. The drugs they are complaining about entering the US from Canada are almost entirely brought in by Indian truck drivers (Google it and find many examples). A Fentanyl super lab in BC capable of producing over 95 million lethal doses that was busted was run by an Indian. This is now threatening trade with our main trade partner as a trade war has just started. ENOUGH ALREADY! Indians need to be sent home, and banned from entering Canada.

Fentanyl labs have been discovered in Canada, converting large amounts of precursor chemicals from China, with help from both the Sinaloa Cartel and Canadian Indian gangs (from India). As a Canadian I can tell you that Trash is right, 16,000 illegal immigrants crossed into the United States from Canada last year. But... What Trash forgot to mention is that 263,000 illegal immigrants crossed into Canada from the United States last year as well! Let's build a wall and get Mexico to pay for it. This is also true... But again... Only about one half of one percent is getting into the USA from Canada. California alone is letting in 68% of all of the Fentanyl that is in your country! I don’t know if people realize that there is a bunch of factories in Canada near the border that make fentanyl. Trump has more information on what is happening in the US Canada border. 25 % tariffs is far to low not only is Canada letting a bunch of illegal people come in and cost us taxpayers some serious money but they are also making the fentanyl problem far to big.

I think that drug thing might be more pressing if it's crime and chaos you're worried about...(you get less then 0.2% of your fentanyl from us, by the way and fewer then 2% of migrants to the US come from Canada. On the other hand, an estimated 70% of illegal migrants to Canada come from the US, right up there with the fentanyl, actually. Oh and we keep having to deal with all the illegal guns from you, too.

As for fentanyl, your primary sources are Mexico, China and India with Canada so low down the list of sources we don't even register on the charts. In fact, the reality is that far, far, far more migrants, fentanyl and--worse--illegal guns, cross FROM the US INTO Canada. This was always going to occur. Shut down the southern border and people will try to get in through the north. As I understand it, we don't have the same deportation laws with Canada as we do with Mexico. This needs to be dealt with and Canada needs to step up. I live in a norther border state and my younger brother died of fentanyl. I am fed up with it. I love Canada and remembering crossing the border without even a passport as a kid, but this is no longer acceptable.

It is true that 43 pounds of fentanyl were seized coming into the USA from Canada, but another fact is that 882 pounds was confiscated coming from the USA into Canada. That is over 20 times as much volume. Just a fact.

Canada has been doing virtually nothing to stem the flow of fentanyl precursors into their country (on ships from China) and out across the U.S. border. That is the most pressing reason for the Trump tariffs.

The stepped up Canadian border enforcement was already well underway months before Trump made his tariff threats. \nThink about it, the 43lbs of fentanyl that was smuggled in from Canada, at the US border, is a drop in the bucket in comparison to the flow of it that comes in through the ports. Also think about when you cross a border, it’s the country you are crossing into that checks you out. Classic case of Trump blaming others for US failure.

Most other countries in the world will utilize deadly force to protect their borders. The free ride is over. They are all living here on U.S. citizens backs.
