With all due respect saying the govt should help them get jobs here doesn't reflect what they do for most who were born here or immigrated otherwise than coming as an international student. It's not a right to stay. I feel bad for those who were sold a lie by the immigration consultants but something needs to be done to fix things as it's so badly broken. We're not promised all of these things that some of the students are thinking they're entitled to now that they're here. Sadly too many feel so entitled nowadays regardless of where they come from

Brampton should be an example of what should not happen with immigration. As a South Asian even I wouldn’t want to live there, all of us know it is a corrupt place and there are similar enclaves all around other Canadian cities and they are in the same state. They get into the local govt, bypass laws and do things to their liking !!

Too many Indian temporary students, the newcomers, are suffering on top of all canadians. If one of the 2nd largest population immigrates to Canada, it affects all of us. It's like pulmonary ventilation. When the volume decreases( job), the pressure increases( job crisis). All the food, Hospitalities, and health sectors are filled with temporary Indian students because of Recruiters in HR are all Indians and their priorities are only Indians as they understand these 70% Indian students have huge loan back home and came with fake financial documents that were presented at the Canadian consulate at India. Need to investigate them. Every day, there are Indian newcomers, and our Canadians homeless and Burglars are on the rise. The Govt has to stop issuing a visa now.

They have their education now leave . GO AND MAKE YOUR OWN COUNTRY A BETTER PLACE .We Canada, does not need their doctors or engineers , WE HARD WORKING CANADIANS HAVE OUR OWN . Not because you came to study in Canada or any country for that matter automatically means you have to the right to stay. That’s the problem. The govt should have had a cap for how many students can stay after their studies but again it’s all about greed

Govt allowed them to come study and at the same time giving them some hr to work so a lot of people grab this opportunity which to most of them the main purpose is not to study but to have a job and after that get into pr status. If I’m in this situation of this student I cant demand anything in the first place just follow the rules, find a way to get your status legally if you can’t then start packing up and I will go home.

This is not about only Indians overwhelmingly overpowering Brampton. You may call this town Mini-India based on your biased perceptions. Peoples looking alike, culturally and socially similar, speaking the same languages feeing safe, comfortable and less challenged and have tendacies to reside together in the same geographical locations.. This applies to all the communities. and this phenomenon exists all over the world. We have little Italies, Chinatowns, Mini Russias, Polands, Ukrains, Irelands, Scotlands, Mexicos flourishing in USA, Europe, Australia and Canada is no different. Our govts need to make deliberate efforts to plan the towns to make more them multi-cultural.

I am an 60 years old immigrant from India, with a phd degree. I had to work in my area of expertise. Now govt did stupid stuff with this floodgate open. They must work in the area of their degree. Or study and go back home. Canada does'nt need unskilled students.

US caps Green cards based on where you were born. For Canada, China and India remain the two big contributors. NZ, Australia and Canada fall in the same category. Not much going on economy wise so trying to grow population to gain more GDP and taxation. Also, helps run the Ponzi schemes like housing where prices keep on multiplying every decade. what I find funny about this video is that While they are complaining about Just One Hindu Temple in Canadian city , They have no problem with Hundreds of Thousands of Churches built in India , with Govt of India's money assistance program , They want more churches in India , more conversions in India and They demand India to have open borders , and lecture India regarding Minorities whereas Minorities in India despite problems have expanded significantly with Govt sponsored Free of charge programs for them. I am Indian and the lady who was talking about adapting to the culture in the country you’re in, is absolutely right. \nBut then, Canada also needs immigrants and workers who can take up minimum wage jobs and most of them pay taxes. But yes, there are also antisocial elements that cause problems for everyone. Perhaps, to Canadianize the immigrants, the Govt can have cultural exposure and introduction classes. I wont make a drastic change but would definitely be a start. That being said, I am not sure how Homelessness and Drug Addiction is a related to immigration, I would consider it a mental health problem.

This is very ignorant. I understand that there is a very huge minority population in the community. However, these people were brought through by the policies of the Federal Govt. for the benefits of the Canadians. They play an essential role in providing and working in service industries, that white people dont want to work in. And as a promise of the multiculturalism in Canada, it is right of every person on this land to look any way they want, practice what culture they want etc. And the idea that this video presents as being white is what Canadian is very ignorant to the Natives of the land. Canada is of the natives and not white people. Remember at one point, white people were migrants to the country, did not adopt to the native culture and populated the area.

As sad as the incident is, I don’t get the hate. The fact that this man acknowledged his fault, pleaded guilty against his lawyers advise shows that he is remorseful and didn’t want to put the families through the nightmare of court. He could have pleaded not guilty and won because there is no way they would have been able to prove the charges, especially after the govt cut down trees that were obstructing road signs, after the collision. Other than the overt racism, don’t people get this.

This immigrants are mostly from one indian state ie Punjab. In Punjab every young person just have to dream i.e. to move to Canada. Even Indians from other indian state dint want to live in Brampton anymore, Let me tell u most indians dont want to leave in isolated community but want to leave in mixed community with local people and adopting their culture. But ur Canadian govt policies and support towards khalistaani movement make many punjabi people to move to canada. Indian Govt is fighting Trudeau for allowing Illegal immigrants to stay back in Canada.

It's easy to point the hate at the international students, but this situation didn't arise all of a sudden and was definitely not caused only by these students.\n\nProvincial govt policies made and allowed the diploma mills to recruit these students en masse at 4-5 times the fee.\nFederal govt departments issued their visas allowing them to fly here.\nWe promised these students a path to PR/Citizenship, our colleges took their money, and our businesses used their labour.\n\nThe situation is dire indeed, but it's a failure of policymakers, not these students.\n\nIt's unfair to first let people in with promises, then break those promises, and then hate the people when they're protesting.

Being an Indian living in India I can tell you one thing that mostly people who are not 'good enough' in anything pay lumsum amount of money to move to Canada. For instance, most of the students going to Canada for study, lack foundational knowledge that should've been taught to them at school. Take a GRE-like exam by randomly selecting Indians residing in this area and u will understand what I'm talking about. Unfortunately, the current Canadian govt knows this and capitalise on this problem as they have turned the education system of Canada into a money-vending machine. Furthermore, no skill development opportunities and lack of jobs intensify these problems as these individuals are never exposed in a multicultural urban setting. That is why likeminded individuals aggregate and live in silos. Lastly, for my Indian brothers and sisters, I would like to say that yall should try to assimilate with the culture rather than live in silos. That doesn't necessarily mean yall should abandon ur religion and culture, but try to participate more in various activities associated with Canadian culture. Like Im a Hindu, but I participate in Eid & Christmas as well in India.. We should be open to new experiences, especially when moving to a foreign country, one should be able to adapt.. just like one adapts to the weather, one should also embrace the culture.. Try talking to people who are 'non-Indians', have a genuine conversation, find out the history of the place and various other key milestones in the region.. mostly engage in amicable social behaviour. Holding grudge & closing doors to new interactions would not solve anything, neither for Canadians nor for immigrants.. Live and let live.. Cheers!

I was there, vancouver, around 2018 to before covid, I feel they might have gotton the welfare wrong. my salary after tax,heath insurance is 40% left to settle all my living expenses. and who benefits? eg. drug addicts wait for free drugs every morning, a women keep boring kids to get free welfare, this I heard- a refugee with 3 wives and 12 kids got at least a free house and van courtersy of the local govt, a newly minted immigrant citizen also gotten $1200 senior welfare. Just felt that normal working folks are getting a very short stick. Also not sure if the free university education is all that good, it uses a lot of tax money, but higher earnings go to labour jobs like a roofer could earn $150k vs a business admin graduate earing $60k avg .

I am from the immigration system, this country accepted me, humbled me and taught me if you work hard, you'll eventually get there. I slogged my back off to go through Study permit - work permit - PR - Citizenship. And seeing this saddens me to accept the fact that our system has broken. We have a major shortage of doctors, trade workers, etc. But we have none. I am hopeful the next govt. will act on it

If a group of kind-hearted people start a new religion. This new religion set up a rule that all followers of the religion must carry an automatic gun or CP at all times. The reason given in this new religious book is to protect fellow humans from aggressive gunmen. Will govt allow them to board planes or go to schools, universities, hospitals, and public places? will all these automatic weapons be under freedom of religion or law of land? \n\nI am not sure if people agree but religion is based on beliefs and laws on experience. Commonsense tells that beliefs are personal and should be kept in personal space.\n\nThe university should not have apologized but should have expelled the person to carry a weapon in public places.\n\nThink of a gang that classifies them as religious and carries knives or swords in public places. Further, this is not the medieval age where you needed to carry weapons because you believed in a rule written 500 years back based on that time's need.

Don't blame the students. Blame the govt. All this is drama and Trudeau pretending to aquiescent to the protests. If he really wanted he can deport immediately, to hell with the protests and especially because of the soaring relationship with India, he should do it. But he won't because he doesn't want to. People are greedy they know everything whats causing the problem, why the housing market is high, its just like playing innocent and asking for help us. I am from India living in India now. Never lived or worked in Canada, but visited Canada multiple times as a tourist.\n\nThis situation is kinda tricky for everyone. While immigration is unavoidable for any nation of today, the way people immigrate to other countries really frustrates. Nations just go by whatever documents are submitted to the embassies to grant visit/student/work visas. Most of the time, the documents are cooked up or forged in order to secure entry into other countries. This is very common in India as well. \n\nIndia too have serious problem with the Canadian Govt, which openly backs & harbors terrorists from India such as Khalistanis. Of late, Canada has become safe haven for global terrorists, who need a safe shelter. I still wonder, what is stopping India from getting Canada declared a terrorist state.

If I had attempted something like this after my two stints at USA educational institutions, I’m 100% sure I would have had my ass kicked all the way north of the 49th by a official govt type entity. Without delay!!

Coast to coast it's the same story: Liberal govt let useless 'paper mill' schools (mostly run by Indian scammers) fill the country with these kids with BS sales promotion of a path to PR status (most don't need or care about becoming citizens lol). The Liberals are toying with granting them PR status, but they know this will likely cost them the election. These kids are creating housing capacity problems, creating overcrowding on transit and in healthcare. Local charities are slammed with extra mouths to feed, and grocery stores are experiencing a spike in shoplifting because these kids did not come with enough money to house and feed themselves. The student visa program has been abused by criminals of course, so there's a spike in gangster activity and even a political assassination in Surrey BC. It's a crap show and the solution is for 500,000 of them to head home ASAP. (Yes, this may create a temporary shortage of fast food workers and delivery people, but I'll take my chances.)
