A young French woman is renting a room in the same house that I am. She is here to teach highschool French. She hasn't lived here for a year, and wants to move to the US for better opportunities, cheaper living, teach at a university. She is expected to treat her students like children, and reward them with a candy/chocolate for answering a question correctly. All problems start in the home.

even my country is doing this mistake , you could have made around 1.4 k euro as a food delivery guy now because a of indians came here a lot of the people that worked those jobs quit and moved abroad again , and this indians make about 700 euros but they pleased because they have housing and food given so they sent all the money back wich is like 3 salaries there probably , this sort of imigration is not sustainable

I lived on the streets of Toronto for over 3 years between 1997 & 2001. I'd always been a bisexual 'loose, wild and crazy girl' as they say, and for me it was a natural progression. When I was 20 my family immigrated here from South Africa but I was way too immature so Quebec City and I didn't get along. I and a girlfriend hitchhiked out to run wild in Toronto. The fun only lasted the summer and then I spent 3 years living on the streets there. Doing 'the job' just to get by becomes a chore for sure. I spent one winter in a tent city near the lake but too many people made it a violent place. My last winter out there I spent in the Don Valley with a small group, moving our encampment every few days. I would likely have ended up dying out there but a guy I scarcely knew at the time drove all the way to T.O. and spent a week looking for me and just by luck found me when I was at my lowest and willing to go home.

I’m a Canadian who has been in America since 1998. I can wholeheartedly say I can’t wait to move back to Canada. I feel like I’ve been watching a slow moving train wreck especially the last couple years.

I think Canada needs less commumism and more real canadian culture. When i moved in 3 years ago everything felt extremely artificial, confusing, and depressing. Like everyone was on the brink of going crazy. I am glad I came back to my country Italy.

I live in Nova Scotia and most of our population is practically now Indian population it was never like that say 8 years ago,im fine with anyone from any country living here for sure but it must not be bad for them because they have moved here in droves,practically every business is filled with indians all working in them and including where i work,ill tell ya there dedicated workers and work hard and i get it they need the hours to get there Canadian citizenship?So is there a long time perk of being indian and moving to Canada,Nova Scotia perhaps that i dont know about?Because us Canadians that have lived here all there lives are definitely not getting any perks or barebones living for godsake.

But with new migrants sometimes it isn’t until the second generation that their social circles get diverse. This can be isolating and it’s even isolating as those from Toronto eventually leave dreaming of staying in one spot and not forced to move constantly when a landlord investor sells every house you move into. \n\n\nToronto really needs to protect affordability of housing for at least some housing in every section so that people can save money if they live in the city, and not have to leave their communities and be far from their friends and family. \n\notherwise eventually people get sick of the hustle and it’s too tiring to travel 1+ hrs each way to visit someone during Monday to Friday. \n\n20 years ago any professional could at least buy a condo. Not today. There is too much competition now and investors are allowed to buy up all the most affordable housing that once was a pathway to owning a home. \n\nRich policy makers got greedy and destroyed canada and hopefully diversity in leadership will help make Canada better. But they perhaps people knew to Canada can reject this lonely structure and help us rebuild Toronto into an amazing place. \n\nWe need to make sure everyone can afford housing with 30% of their income. I’m a software exec and my wife is a cardiologist. We moved to Canada (my former home and new for my wife) a few years ago we lasted 9 months. My wife was like “get me out of here”. Now we are in Atlanta and loving it. We will never be back.

I feel like moving as a lifelong Canadian. I love people and love culture. I don't like extremists. \n\nMy problem is simply I don't our government is ethical nor caring to it's citizens, and as far as immigrants go, I am absolutely all for it with a reasonable rate without displacement or a negative sum on people that have built families here already. You can't just say we want to help and not give one thought about implications whatsoever. \n\nWhere I live you can't add thousands of people without thinking about making roards wider or more busses.\n\nWe don't look like idiots, we are. Let's welcome a host of new beautiful people into out country and not have a single plan in place besides pay for their housing (not necessarily bad), pay for their transportation (not necessarily bad), and allow a rent bubble to put our welcoming citizens with Trades to live in tents.\n\nHow about this as a sane alternative, the billions of dollars in road tax from gas prices which hasn't improved the roads, and the billions from legalized gambling...how about we audit our government and take a hard and difficult look as to where all this tax money goes, and more importantly the detailed justification? \n\nSame thing, same day. Canada has to be corrupt as the day is long OR our greatness was built on an history of lies. I came in Windsor Ontario as a foreign worker in 2009, wasn't the best time to look for a job there but still. I did 1 year of studying, worked again, left for Alberta in 2012 where I still am. Got my PR in 2014 and citizenship in 2022. Most of the things I hear against living in Canada must be true, I don't doubt it but I'm just not aware of them. I didn't even know there was a bank account freezing during COVID. It wasn't easy to get a good job, I had to leave for a small community in Alberta to get the most of what I wanted and that's why I am oblivious to the harsher reality that people have to endure in Toronto or Vancouver. But the thing is, as soon as I landed in Toronto and got robbed 50$ by some guy (this is just an anecdote not the real reason), I knew I shouldn't try to make a living there. I know job opportunities are in those big cities but please, if you can, there are great communities that need people, workers, consumers and families. If you can land a job there, move! At least try. It doesn't even have to be that far up north, nor to be a mini small village. Small city, rural living, no criminality, cheap housing, lots of space, family friendly, no traffic, no wait time to see a doctor, friendly people, douchebags, we have it here. Are they drawbacks? Yes of course. Need to drive 1 or 2 hour to get a scan or an MRI, car dependance is exacerbated but hey, it feels like a free country where no one have been overpriced...yet.

I am a French Canadian born here, and I want to move out of this country. Everything about this country’s culture, education, health care, crime, agriculture, economy, literally everything is unrecognizable, and it’s happened all in like 8 years. Quebec #1? You've got to be kidding! Great maybe if you are fluent, and I do mean fluent, in French. Otherwise you're treated like a second class citizen. As a tourist destination it is fabulous. The best food ever throughout the province. Old Quebec City by far the most beautiful in Canada and Montreal for the marvellous shopping experience. All fine for a fumbling in French tourist, but moving there and trying to get on in fractured high school French is a whole new and not so pleasant experience. I lived in the province for just under 2 years so my comments are based on that experience. After travelling the country extensively I settled in Northern Ontario to raise my family. Now retired I live in Canada's largest city Toronto and love it.

Here in Moncton New Brunswick its been getting bad over the past few years with homeless camps, yet they are building huge apartment buildings on every possible place they can find space but those are all going to all the immigrants and people moving out here from Quebec and Ontario. I'm a school bus driver and just on Monday while driving my students, there was a group of homeless trying to resuscitate a guy on the sidewalk who looked completely dead with a purple face and this happened maybe 50ft from a local foodbank. They all walk like they are zombified and bent/knelt over. Thanks to woke mayor's and their sanctuary cities we are seeing this crap and to Trudeaus and his Liberal governments immigration policies.

The real issue is that Canada cannot *afford* skilled talent or educated Indian immigrants. Most of the people moving to Canada are from villages in India or people who arent educated. The Canadian PR is almost like a joke to anyone with a job in India.

I was moving back to Edmonton in October 2023 and the vacancy rate was 0.0001% the apartment I got, if i did not take it (the area is so rough) I would have had to stay with a friend and hoped and prayed that in November more people were moving so something else could/would become available. \n\nThen I talked to everyone in this building. Once the 1 year lease is up they months rent 250$ so they suck you into a an apartment where homeless are sleeping in the laundry room smoking meth for $1000 and then up the rent to 1250$ and the area is like the ones you were exploring. If anyone knows Edmonton it’s a block off 118 ave or Alberta Avenue. And I work at the Royal Alexandra Hospital (inner city) it’s heart breaking ?. It was always bad but since moving to the country in 2020 and coming back late 2023 the decline is devastating. Even a very close friend of mine went from packing her kids lunches, working casually (when they needed) as a janitor at Edmonton public school board to staying at salvation Army and it getting full to living in Tent City. She had to make her way to Calgary for shelter. ?

I am 59, white Canadian born, self employed, no employees, and in the Toronto area. I can't hire an employee, the skills are just not there. What I do requires a high level of technical skill across a wide range of technologies. Also good verbal and interpersonal skills. I also feel like I can't trust most of who might apply, based on previous experiences. Morals and ethics are simply not visible. And now I can't retire and move back to my hicksville hometown as house prices have gotten to the point where it would be stupid to buy something, it's not possible to make those kinds of mortgage payments. This interview completely misses the point by interviewing the “wrong” immigrant. Immigrants to Canada leave for the U.S. because Canada prefers “high value” immigrants (e.g., physicians, engineers, scientists, entrepreneurs with excellent track records, occupations that are expensive to train and/or individually contribute a lot to the GDP) that the U.S. would also like to attract. Not only can many of these people make more money in the U.S., but they often encounter more help and/or less restrictions with professional licenses (e.g., most states have an industrial exemption for engineers, and do a better job at helping foreign doctors and nurses get their licenses to practice medicine). How many times have we heard of a foreign professional reduced to driving a taxi or becoming a housewife when they move to Canada because an immigration official didn’t properly inform the immigrant of the hoops they would have to jump through, and the provincial professional association offered minimal, if any, assistance? \n\nThis PhD student (and others with more academic than lucrative educations) may think he’ll have it made moving to the US but I think he overestimates his value. The small liberal arts colleges that may have hired someone with his background are decreasing in number or changing to a more technical focus (usually to computer science because it doesn’t require expensive labs needed in medicine or engineering). American students are now more critically examining what degrees, if any at all, will lead to better paying careers, and I doubt Myanmar is on their radar as a money-making opportunity.

Canada needs more people like it needs a hole in the head. Even at salaries maybe at 60 to 70% of the US it really doesn't employ all the people it has. That's why if you take up engineering or SW, you better find a way to move to the US or else be ready to flip burgers here all your life.

I have struggled with dissatisfaction with my immigration to Canada for 20 years. After so long, I have grown roots in this country and am to old to move elsewhere. If you look at most walkable, well serviced cities in the world, it is clear that nothing that is good, is particularly affordable. It can be affordable *today* if you move there, but it is likely not affordable if you live there and make their wages.\n\nToronto has become more expensive as time passes. It was great value in the 1990s when things were cheaper, when Toronto's future was less solidified, and there were less immigrants. Now, it is keeping up in cost with other walkable, dense cities in North America.

Like me, I already want to move back. Canada was overglamorized. I think I'm just gonna finish my post grad work permit and move back home. At least there, housing is still within my reach. It's rare people doesn't own homes. You can grow food in your backyard. Can live without debt in any way if you choose as we dont rely in mortgages and credit cards or credit scores.\n\nCanada is good in pictures, but not totally in real life. And what I realized is every country has issue in corruption, government, capitalism etc. There's no perfect country, might as well, just have an almost perfect life with loved ones.

I study in berling german i felt. A person my friend told ne to move here i came i live like garbage even my nursing degree and working as rn in Germany is 0 i have to start from the begining now i am just cleaning ppl houses my degree is hanging in the wall.going back to school of nursing is expensive and i am not young for that.canada sucks big time

Everybody will leave Canada and go to India ?? as their motherland since it’s growing! \nIndia ?? is booming ??????? For now Reverse migration #reversemigration✈️ is what’s trending! I own 7 companies and out of 7 we deal with leasing and financing, guess what? We getting so many loans default by professionals like Architects, IT , P.Eng, Plant Managers , POM, Directors are applying for loans over $350k and defaulting cause they all moving out of Canada ??! The hole ?️ Canada ?? has Dug is too deep to overcome plus lots of private loans for mortgage downpayments are defaulting, lots of loan payments are defaulting and 49Billion Dollars by Govt Funding for small Businesses are due now Jan 18th,2024 which is not going to get paid back so imagine what’s coming! Also not to mention lot’s of mortgages are renewing on Nov ,2024 which is locked at 1.xx% for last 4 years - well, thats going to be something ??? so in this crazy Sunami and Storm ⛈️ I dont want the kids after 12th to get swamped and wiped out of their youth while they should be enjoying their life and freedom as it should! ?

As someone born and living in Canada I'd love to live in Singapore. I'd pay a premium to live in a country where the government was run by serious people and there weren't deranged homeless people everywhere, there was law and order, pro capitalist laws, etc. Housing and living expenses are awful in Canada, but I'd honestly be fine with that if I thought it was worth living here, or I saw a future in this country. I'm not criticizing you for moving to Canada though. If you like it here I think that's great.
