Ma'am, when a country makes it harder for citizens of a particular country to enter their country, it is often because of the number of recorded incidents, crime from people from said country. If there is a higher rate compared to people from other countries, then it becomes harder. Let's be honest here... Indians don't have a good reputation abroad when it comes to such things... I'm half Nigerians and at least many Nigerians acknowledge why lately, it is harder for Nigerians to get a visa (Obv crime as well.) Has nothing to do with discrimination. Also, look at the state of Canada. Nigeria and India need to focus on bettering their citizens so that less people go abroad, which also reduces the chance of certain people doing crime, to avoid making it harder for honest people from the same country to get a visa. Better the countries so that more countries open up for Indians, making the ranking go up. \n\nLastly, the passport index website shows India at 65, not 85. Why lie about that to fit your narrative? The passport index website is literally the first result that shows up on Google too... Not everything is about discrimination...

So you seem to be blaming the Country denying Indians a visa. Break down the rejections. Indians like any other third world country are known to use these avenues to escape from India. Don't blame the countries for taking time to assess. Blame the Indian society/economics that is forcing people to exit the country. See what can be done to fix that first, so that people don't want to exit your motherland first.

Getting the visa appointment is hard because of how many people are trying to get out from here, just because everyone else is doing. I'll give up an example. For German national visa, the slots for next 2 months were filled in two VFS centres, ( which two states in India depends on) were filled in an hour. And a lot of those guys who go abroad, ruin the country they go to with their bs from India.

the root cause is illegal immigration and the root cause of illegal immigration is inflation, either people needs to be paid more on par with western countries or the cost of living must reduce to the point, people think working in India is far better to make money. \n5th economy you say but sadly it doesnt translate to the 90% people of this country, At this point even if India is world number economy still 90% of the will struggle to meet their ends. So when the per capita income increase the passport power will also increase. There solution to the problem.

Well said! I hope our Ministry of Foreign Affairs takes note. It's high time India earns global respect, particularly from the UK, USA and EU. Offering arrival visas to income tax filers could be a game-changer and a start to that direction and will motivating more people to file returns to get that pride status. Currently, only 3% of Indians file tax returns, whereas at least 10% should. This initiative would benefit India and provide developed countries with a better filtering process.

Why are indian visas being rejected? Well, could it be that various countries learned from canada, the US, and other developed nations about how indians abused the H1B as well as other visa programs by lying and cheating their ways into those countries. Not only that, once indians get into those countries they caused problems for the governments and people of those countries by shtting on their beaches, refusing to return to india when their visas expire, and playing the victim card when those countries take actions to punish indians for violating their laws.

All these western countries do have a legitimate concern - if ever there is a race of people who could take all the good jobs in the west it is the Indians . \nThey overstay their visas and you can't expect these countries to bear the burden of repatriation and I doubt India will as this would a bad precedent .

Why are there so many people from India with fake degrees and certifications? Chinese have been under the microscope for decades while Indians get away with daylight robbery. Perhaps the honeymoon is over.

This may be a blessing in disguise to India . I say this not to bring any offence as visa denials are highly prevalent, not only in Canada but in other countries as well. The positive side to this Palki is that India will not suffer brain drain for this season until a new season of visas is granted. Its unfortunate times are changing in Govts policies, which are to be well respected. \nWhile this change presents disappointment I suggest we live through the moments until we embark on a new season when visas will once again be granted. \nWe love India, and I pray blessings on all the people in India. I live in Canada. A citizen now, love this country but India is and will always be a home. Canada is facing hard times currently, which is being faced by every country now and then but even the cause root of all these problems Canada is facing right now is coming from somehow from India. The most disruptive and disturbing people are here from India only with no civic sense. They come here and do not value the Canadian culture at all. They do all sort of illegal activities and try to do jugaad in everything, from which we escaped from India. Even on political grounds, the man who somehow messed up everything was under the influence and pressure of the man having Indian roots. I love India without a doubt but we can’t deny the real facts why Indians are being hated everywhere. People in my community here ( whites, First Nations, old Indians) love me and my family because they know how we respect the culture and values and laws of Canada. But there, where people don’t know us personally, we get judgemental eyes because of our colour and we know why, it’s not all of us, but still majority of us have destroyed the image of India and yes Indians deserve to be banned now. We need skills and knowledge and we should class apart from the stupid ones.

Simply, barking inside a studio is not going to bring Indian Passport to the top ranking. This means that the people are misusing the passport and not returning back to India. The Govt. is to be blame here for the worst ranking of India's passport. Speaking Sigma talks and speaking in front European media won't bring any rankings higher. MEA at it's worst period.

No one wants to live in India? Why? Because average person has no rights of enjoying a free life from the corrupt governments in every state. Sorry as a British born Indian I must say this when Indians from the motherland come it pushes down the salary we natives get as big companies pay Indians from India less than natives. It is a massive problem for us local people??????? I am a proud Indian but I am also a proud Brit from my lovely west country, 80s born. We have too much illegal and legal immigration and it is a problem for us natives.

The West already has tens of millions of Indians already here, your people are everywhere literally all over the world, your country is making it harder to start a business or settle in India, so why should your country get free access?

No need to worry. These issues are transitory and our people need not go to USA. USA companies are planning to move operations to India to hire skilled people. So, jobs comes to our cities. In the long run, it helps us. Our people work in our country and pay taxes to us. Now they are going to USA and paying 35% income tax to USA government. In addition to that, they spend a lot on their monthly expenses. If the Visas are closed and jobs are outsourced to India, it helps our economy a lot. Just be patient

Indians need to stop illegal migration. With 1.4 billion people we know there will always be such cases but offlate I feel this has gone out of hand. \n\nShould we blame the countries that reject?\n\nI’d rather look inward. Why do the Indians travel to take other people's jobs when they have such needs in their own home country? Non-tech labor jobs in India are needed greatly. Or people from India moving abroad in search of work? … of course the economy is due to the the largest consumer in the world being the worlds highest populated country. But ratio of the gdp versus the population speaks volumes….

People talking a lot of negative things in the comment section about Indians being this or Indians being that ?. I think the Indian Govt is ensuring that the passport stays weak. Otherwise, what's stopping the govt from flexing its economic power. The reason is, when its complicated to get a visa to travel abroad, it dissuades Indians from going abroad for tourist purpose and those people travel withing India and that money gets spent in India and boosts Indian economy, and when its complicated to move abroad for work or study, it helps reduce brain drain (but that also needs quality higher education and good employment opportunities to work in the country's favor; not going into whether that's the case or not).

I think its good, People of India know how to send things in space and they are hard working people who generate positive energy. Thats too much to offer to these poor minded country people full of racists

These students came for an education. You accepted the terms of that student visa and should thereby adhere to those terms. Many countries do offer jobs to international students who excel in their studies if there are available positions in that field that Canadians can not fill. It is Indian recruiters who have sold the residency idea both in India and Canada. It is these recruters that teach them how to defraud our systems and take your money. If you think about it, how many successful companies hire people with strip mall college certificates in high paying jobs.\n\nWho they should be protesting against are their recruiters who sold them this illusion, not our government. There are processes for residency, not privileges.

Indians are often very dishonest! We have 1,000,000 Indians here who obtained a visa but then never went back home when their visa expired. They are here illegally and working here illegally. An Indian merchant at a convenience store tried to steal a winning lottery ticket from me a few days ago! Several Indians have gone to prison for stealing lottery tickets from customers including HUGE Multi $Million Dollar WINNERS! \n\nI have had Indian immigrants be rude to me even though I was born in Washington DC and my ancestors have lived here for centuries! \n\nWe are having to actually pass laws here to prevent Indians from discriminating agains their fellow Indians in work and housing due to them being Dalits, or ‘Untouchables’ which proves that Indians coming here have no interest whatsoever in democracy and equality. Indians are coming here solely for economic reasons. They are having babies here to take advantage of, abusing, our birthright citizenship law. \n\nOver 700,000,000 Indians don.t even have access to a toilet and yet your government is spending many $Billions on aircraft carriers and a massive military buildup.
