Canada needs a NATIONALITY or PER COUNTRY cap on immigration just like the United States so there is a balance of ethnicity and no inordinate amount of immigrants coming from ONE single country.

Those from India are like any other immigrants. They're trying to find their way in a new society with different customs and rules. My parents came here in the 50’s from Italy and were discriminated against in the same ways. As first-generation Canadians, my brother and I were discriminated against because of our heritage in school and then in our chosen careers.\n\nIn general, Indians are hard-working, well-educated, English-speaking and entrepreneurial. In general Indians benefit Canadian society.\n\nI became friends and eventually best friends with my neighbour from Punjab. He came here with nothing and became an educator for children with special needs. He had two master's degrees. One from McGill University and one from Cambridge. He was involved in our community at many levels. We spent most evenings discussing life, and society issues and even worked together on a campaign of one of our local councillors and won. He had a positive impact on all who knew him. Unfortunately, he passed in 2012. RIP Rupinder Jeji. You are dearly missed.

Spouses of international students should not be allowed to work here and international students should not be allowed to work more than 20 hrs. International students who are here for only a one year program like MED should not be given work permit now are permitted for PR. They won’t continue in teaching as they are not skilled to teach kids here. They perceive other professions they are using the program only to get PR. They are coming here not o study but to stay here.They are even using food banks when Canadians who are in need are struggling for food here.

If your visa expires you need to leave. No one reports you, but if you decide to stay illegally after visa expires, they will send you back, which is called deportation. Don't confuse yourself and others

We are caring and understand all human rights, but when people start taking advantage justin Trudeau should stand and dont give fuck about all rules, we should think, do we actually care about human rights? For example one needs only a visitor visa to get citizenship Just need to say im gay/lesbo family friends behind him/her to kill. Person will get free hotel until you won't find home. Then person will be paid per month to take care yourself. If you need to study? Of course you will get all free education. Thats why government running out of money for those who are retired, worked hard for years and earn those retirement cheques.Human rights and other rules are good on papers but in reality, people always find out loop holes to take advantage of rules. Selling LMIA owners of subway, gas stations, circle k, convince stores owners made millions till today. No wonder why asian have more homes than actual locals? Still, the roots are being deafness by the government as big pie cut was serving under table by thos sitty colleges. Everyone is responsible, but right now, everyone pretending they know the issue now and stopping this and that. That's the biggest joke i have ever seen. I can talk and write hours and hours about this issue, but actual citizens still sleeping.

this is actually a really good summary of the situation. just like how India has their bad people who have caused problems we canadians also have similar people in who are just as troublesome if not worse such as the junkies on the streets who I see all the time here in Montreal and cause so much chaos. a big argument which I also feel like is that we should only allow the best of the best to immigrate to Canada. my mom was an immigrant and is an incredibly hard worker who is more than deserving of a Canadian citizenship and even my close friend who immigrated from India is just like that and is also 10x cleaner than anyone else I've ever lived with. the fact of the matter is that we need to bring back those high standards which we had in the past and crack down and send back those who abused the system and illegally entered the country. India is the largest population in the world, there are a lot of great people there that Canada would most definitely benefit from have but there are also a lot of crappy people as well, we just need to ensure that the ones who are coming here are of the latter and not the former

Thanks so much for this video! I admire the hard working and awesome culture of most people I have met who have come to Canada from India! We definitely needed help in filling in the deficit of employees that are needed in Canada! It is a shame that ALL political parties did not solve the housing issue which we knew was going to be a problem, many decades ago, even well before the Harper government! This is not rocket surgery! LOL\nIn Northern Ontario we have a LOT of Indian immigrants. All the ones I have met are very well educated even though they are working in the service industries! I know several Indian Canadians who are Doctors, Teachers and Engineers! Almost all of my experiences have been positive! Of course it is human nature to always highlight issues, for example: I caught one group of people throwing garbage in a parking lot, and immediately notified them that they had dropped something, and even followed them with the garbage. One of the group stated, it was just trash. I told him there was a garbage can right over there, and I just KNEW that they did not want to throw it just lose on the ground, and wanted to help keep our town clean. They said sorry and politely picked it up and placed it in the garbage can. Hopefully lesson learned! I politely and respectfully spoke out, to a good resolution.\nMy parents were immigrants from war-torn Germany. I know ALL about prejudice for new immigrants. Our parents being German-Canadian at a time right after WW2, where MOST Canadians had an Uncle, a Father, a Grandfather or someone they knew who had fought and some died because of Germans! Although I am not a person of colour, so I personally do not know that side of prejudice. We all need to treat each person as an individual and try not to paint all peoples with one brush! In Surrey BC there is a shooting carried out by Indian gangs almost everyday. There is also a massive influx of Indians who simply make zero effort to learn the common language of this country: English. I am a 2nd generation Indian-Canadian, and even I struggle to communicate with these new migrants from India. If you want to come to this country that embraced me and my family as one of their own, you need to accept and embrace their culture and not try to replace it. \n\nAs an Indian Canadian citizen, I fully support deporting any Indian students who have overstayed their student/work visa. They need to go back because they do not love this country.

Immigration per se is not bad, but too much of it, especially too much from one country alone, will offset the demographic balance and is always bad for the country. When my sisters' families drove over from the US to Toronto last month, they were shocked to find that Canada is overwhelmed by Indians! And bad, disrespectful drivers too! I didn't realize that because I was here all along, it needed fresh eyes to see the reality of what happened to Canada.

My recent visit to the Landesamt für Einwanderung in Berlin was a stressful: i am a freelance musician applying for an official music teacher's position. There was a summit of 5 people there that could not wrap their heads around what papers i didn't fill in, so they gave me a piece of paper that legitimates my stay for one more year and said I'd need one more paper to proof that I am skilled enough. I tried to get one more appointment after filling in the papers, but no answer. Me and my employer are now stuck in this together, because we need each other more, than the immigration office thinks we do.

he mentioned top notch free health care system, is biggest lie in the video. you pay hefty insurance fee every months so its not free plus medical waiting period is unbearable. finding a a family doctors itself is a big task. getting appoint is another headache. DE is very slow moving society. There is always waiting for everything. Just to convert my driving license here i have to pay hefty amount and driving schools have available time after 3-4 months. In us one can get DL for 200-300 usd and here you need 2000-3000 usd. rise in crime also racism is another reason to leave DE

The problem isn't just in Canada. It is simply more advanced there. The same problem exists throughout the West. And we need to be candid with this. they always say they are not racist, then they state that any that come need to have 'canadian values,' which is usually ambiguous, and i think probably racist code for white. as a white person who grew up in brampton, i know first hand how i was treated as the son of european immigrants, to my often scapegoated friends and peers from other asian and Caribbean back grounds. but luckily my life was richer for having grown up in a multicultural environment, where one could be many things, and their was a certain sense of cultural fluidity.

Indian students come to study not living in Canada. Young Canadian need jobs, housing, and security for Canadians first. It is mostly the fault of the incompliant and corrupt Liberal government for the massive influx of unskilled India workers/students. Under previous sane governments, there were manageable caps that controlled the influx and allowed for proper immigration of vetted and skilled workers, but the Liberals stopped properly vetting people and basically opened the flood gates. For a Canadian company to hire foreign workers, they used to have to prove there were no Canadian workers to do that job, so foreign workers were mostly used in seasonal agriculture work, but due to very shady government deals with big corporations Trudeau approved paying wage subsidy and turning a blind eye to Canadian workers so Singh Hortons (and many other big businesses) could have workers for a cut rate and the government tax dollars paid up to 70% of wages and welfare. Also Foreign workers think they can stay here once their visa's expire, refusing to leave. There is simply no need for Canada to bring in over a million Indians that are in hard times in their own country. Our welfare or culture can't stand it. Not sure if you missed it or not, but India's foreign minister at the start of summer, thanked Trudeau for taking all their criminals, and low caste people. But People need to follow proper immigration policy, and not buy a ticket to Canada from a India scammer guaranteeing citizenship, which has been the case as well. TFW here, east Asian, a couple of things:\nI am paid the provincial minimum wage, and work in the dairy industry, medium sized farm.\nI started working straight out of high school\n\nFrom what I can see and hear from across the province and largely in the western Canadian provinces, older generation farmers are at the retirement age, but the younger generation is generally very reluctant to take over. \nNot all industries, but definitely in livestock, people sometimes don't realize that, there is literally no breaks, ever! You work every day, holidays, Christmas, and if you do chose to take a few days off, your co-workers, i.e. other family members or workers, have to take up the extra workload. You barely have time for your family, you are often tired around your kids. Farmers have some of the highest suicide rates among all occupations, as well as a difficulty to find partners due to the nature of their jobs.\nThe work is hard, days long, especially during harvests, and if the ever more expensive tractors, equipment fail...\nThere used to be a lot of family owned farms, over the last few decades most have sold their generational farm and left the industry, most because of the cost to operate and because the next generation's unwillingness to take over.\nYong people my age have not been seen applying for my position in a few years now, despite ongoing hiring effort at significantly higher than minimum wage, and I have repeatedly stated that I, although love my job, am ready to step aside at any point so a Canadian PR or citizen can take my position, as required by worker rules. There were a few inquiries from neighboring areas, mostly made by parents, but their children in the end all refused to work, even part time, or seasonal.\n\nOn the other hand, there is the issue of prices: equipment costs have largely more than doubled since the pandemic, grain prices rose... and all that on top of the constant uncertainty of the weather every planting and harvesting season. Most farms don't ever make a profit after the yearly operating cost is deducted from earnings, and the little profit that on occasion appear, goes right back into paying debt or reinvesting in renewing long overdue old equipment.\n\nMy position, and all those similar to mine in agriculture, are in all fairness, very low skilled, with minimum training, and therefore is only worth minimum wage, in my opinion. I was actually offered a higher amount but in the end turned it down because on the job, I discovered the only thing I bring to the table is manual labor (I know that's not really the right way to go about wages, but I do believe that wages should be based on the irreplaceableness of one's skills, and as it stands, although no replacements were ever found, I am very much easily replaceable, skill wise). That, compared to a slightly better paid Starbucks position, with benefits (most farm workers and owners don't have benefits or pension, yes owners too), air conditioning, regular work hours. I mean, if it wasn't for my particular interest for agriculture I'd pick Starbucks any day too!\n\nI think a couple issues are at hand, \n1. Most of agriculture's profit ends up in the corporate processing and supermarkets, that needs to change, workers could benefit, as well as consumers, from distributing that profit between farmers and shoppers.\n2. Agriculture in today's context no longer fit the modern life, although I strongly think that A LOT of people can benefit from getting their hands dirty once in a while and sweating a bit, improve physical and mental health, have better discipline all that jazz. So foreign workers are the temporary solution, if well regulated so that Canadian PR and citizens are ALWAYS prioritized for hire and at a fair wage. This cannot happen unless farmers can turn a profit, stated in point 1.\n3. A new generation of farmers are needed to take over, and they need to be somehow convinced that it is worth the toil, because as it stands, it is not, financially, life style wise. Automation is one solution, although therein lies the huge, foreseeable risk of corporate takeover.\n4. On a specific note, TFW does mandate that workers are provided up to standard housing (not always followed), which puts local workers at a huge disadvantage if they are commuting to work and paying rent, although that rarely happens, and the majority of farms do offer housing to all.\n\n\nI am aware that me being treated up to regulation is not the norm among my TFW peers, which is quite sad and unacceptable. But in my opinion, even if given a leveled playing field, wages , conditions, housing, etc. Canadian citizens and PRs largely will be unable to meet the demand for these jobs, from unwillingness to work really hard physically, unwillingness to live the lifestyle, wanting a career with better prospects... these are harsh words, but I believe to be true, and they also come from a lot of older generation farmers talking about their children and grandchildren. \n\nThis is just in the agri industry, and from what I hear from farmers from all over western Canada : )

See you are a respectful and good citizen who we would have no problem welcoming to Canada. It's the others who are ignorant and who do not respect our countries culture. If you plan to immigrate you must respect our culture and act as nice or nicer than the reputation us Canadians have. The reason we are upset with some Indians is they have no respect. Some of them throw their garbage everywhere on the streets on the beaches on our walkways. I get in India the culture there may allow you to throw garbage in the streets and lakes and rivers. We do not do that here. Either way something has to change the government needs to fix this problem they created. Also why did they allow so many Indians what about Immigrants from other countries? It seems like all they did was mass import people from India. They can hardly even speak English. No disrespect I am just saying from someone who was born in Canada and whose parents grandparents and great grandparents and beyond were all born in Canada how we feel the way our country is being disrespected. It does not make us happy. But let me stress that I know there are kind respectable people from India who come here and are helping Canada. It's the ones who are disrespectful and are not respecting OUR culture.

What's not being addressed is how temporary foreign workers were once relegated to to agricultural and fisheries work but are working for many exploitive employers who care about nothing more than having the lowest payroll, mainly fast-food and retail. These are entry-level jobs that many Canadians needed to survive but are being undercut by foreign cheap labor. These jobs used to pay the bills. \n\nGlobal News only showing agricultural workers and not Subway and Tim Hortons franchises shows what side of the issue Global News is on. It makes you wonder who has voting control of Corus Entertainment, probably the same investors who own many Subway and Tim Hortons locations. \n\nChrystia Freeland saying they will tie the Temporary Foreign Workers eligibility to the unemployment rate of an area still does not address how those jobs do not cover basic living expenses of Canadian citizens. Minimum wage will never go up like this but every possible expense will skyrocket to gouge the public so every corporation will cover their finances except private citizens, unless its one of the citizens destroying the country to cover their willy-nilly investments. \n\nThe young and the poor (now the majority of Canadians) aren't asking for thriving wages, cause that ship has sailed, just to be respected enough to be paid a living wage. I can't believe Trudeau thinks he will get re-elected after selling out the country to investors.

If you don't want to have Uber drivers, the first thing you need to do is change the system of hiring highly skilled professionals. I was shocked to find out that even software engineers need a recommendation from one of the IT companies in Canada to get hired. This is such nonsense, especially considering the fact that Canada is far from the best country for technical professionals.

I personally used to love indians. Especially punjabis. The ones who immigrated here in the 80s and 90s were quiet, dignified and productive.\n\nThey were family oriented and blended into canadian society seamlessly.\n\n\nThis is what indians need to do in order to regain respect again.\n\n1. Call out other indians who do not assimilate into canadian culture. And stop saying youre indian. My parents both immigrated from italy, and they never call themselves italian.....just canadian.\n\n2. Speak english a little better, and learn proper manners and customer service. I live there for two decades except few years in India. People move there for opportunities and face job problem. Earlier one could manage in 2000 dollars but now 4000 is not enough. Salaries have increased but cost of living rose rapidly in the last 4-5 years. \n\nLakes are there but only produce is grass and cows fed on that. Some farming is there. Lot of forests but more than economy, it is becoming liability with very high cost of dousing wild fires. In summers, many cities are severely polluted causing health concern in only good season there. \n\nAll businesses are controlled by a few and we call them cabal. Life of new comer is like bonded labourers or slaves. \n\nPolity and healthcare we need not say anything. It is as clear as daylight \n\nPeople are moving less but are still moving there. It speaks more about condition in India.

It's so bad in New Brunswick that people who were born here are becoming homeless because the gready landlords are doubling rent and they cannot afford to pay it and get evicted. There is no work here for us let alone anyone else. No one person can work full time at 15.00 per hour and afford rent. It has to stop. The crime rate is so bad than it was 3 years ago and as for the food cost example 5.09 for a dozen eggs. 4.99 for a loaf of bread. It just goes on and on. The government need to fix their mess before it's to late.

I am an Indian and I am disgusted to see what fellow Indians have done to Canada! They come here with their total lack of civic sense! I was born and raised in Calcutta as we navigated daily through filth and dirt on the streets - not only because of the poor on the street - but bec of everyone else who walks around and thinks nothing of throwing their garbage on the streets, spitting and blowing their noses on the streets and even in buildings - stairway landings, or peeing in the open - in public spaces or against building walls, etc.. Narcissistic, selfish drivers who cut people off, break the traffic rules, grab parking spots, etc.. They come here and make every effort to Indianize Canada - to make this into India instead of respecting this country that has generously and (ignorantly!!) allowed them in!! If they want to live their Indian culture in an 'Indian environment' - then for goodness sake - GO BACK TO INDIA and clean up that country your call your 'matri bhoomi' - your Mother!! The presenter is right - Indians (and Sri Lankans, Bangladeshis and Pakistanis too included here - all with the same mentality!) have dragged down the customer service experience in stores and restaurants. Indians are usually polite but they are not good at maintaining a high standard of customer service! Employees in Walmart, Costco, Tim Hortons (especially!), etc., are seen standing around, chatting with each other in their Indian languages instead of being professionally attentive to customers. The shopping experience is not pleasant like it was 25 years ago!! Your remarks are not harsh and Indians NEED to take it personally and be embarrassed into doing the necessary to make the changes they need to. We immigrated to Canada not to come to 'another India' - we came to Canada and would like to live in this country to appreciate it's uniqueness and contribute to maintaining it the way it has been! Go to an english speaking country or to the Netherlands, Luxembourg,,,,learning the German language properly takes around 5 years ..for one word you know in german you need to learn many more because german language loves precision and according to the situation the word or expression will change appart from unexplicable gramatical rules, ...too long time to learn , if you are highly qualified , you have no time for this full time german language learning. you can learn a whole new career with that time. Friendliness, mmm also not so. they have different values, less emotional, no emphatetic. Best go to a more profi counry welcoming internationals and key tip: they accept english for work even if you do not speak the local language. Real international countries tolerate that you start working in english, while the local language you learn it with the time and only If you choose to stay long term. they do not asume that you will go for staying long term, they know you have the choice to leave.
