Folks, I need to educate many for a second. When you immigrate to this country you DO NOT become a citizen when you get legal clearance. You can become a permanent resident at best which means you can live, work and do most other things here legally. You DO NOT get to vote or work in government agencies as a lawful permanent resident. To become a citizen you have to wait a minimum of 3 years, or more depending on your permanent resident status, to then apply for citizenship. You then apply for the citizenship application and if accepted the process requires you to take a test and go through a series of questions about U.S. history and government knowledge in an interview that you need to pass, before you are awarded citizenship. Through this process you are SUPPOSED to be committing yourself to the United States of America as someone who denounces your allegiance to your old country and is now pledging your allegiance to the U.S. This is now your home country and you treat it as such. You are now an AMERICAN, not a whatever from wherever that just lives in America. It should be a big deal and one to be proud of. I know people that have been here for 25 years as a permanent resident and they still have no desire to become a citizen. They have lived off of this country, raised families in this country, worked and benefitted from this country and still align with their old country and are completely amiss to what it means to become a U.S. citizen. There is a reason that only citizens are allowed to vote! Because you should have an allegiance to America and should vote accordingly and not be allowed to work in our governmental agencies for the same reason. Legal status and citizenship are NOT the same.

I don’t understand why these people want to come to such a racist, sexist, transphobic, etc, country. BLM and LGBTQ keep saying how America is the worst but millions of people risk their lives to come here. I don’t get it

I understand those coming from Venezuela are actually coming here from literally nothing. But in all honesty America is a bad place to come to. There are so many people living homeless on the streets in every major city. And welfare is not as helpful as they used to be.

When you say that Canada is more liberal than America, for who, though? They are not more liberal for blacks they are more liberal for the white race, period. What Americans do not understand is that there are people in other Countries who are starving because their Countries have gone bankrupt, or their government system has collapsed in those Countries. Venezuela, Brazil, Greece, Pakistan, Argentina, Haiti, Cuba, and a whole list of more of which media is not telling the American people. America itself has put those living here at risk, for refugees to come in in drones, because the more illegals they let come into America, and allow to get their citizenship, the more individuals they have who can vote either Republican or Democrat. Why, while Trump was President, did he not finish building the wall to help stop the flow of illegal immigrants from coming in over the border, when he had the resources to complete the wall on his watch? And why is Biden and Kamala just sitting back and allowing these illegal immigrants to enter the US in herds? Because there is another election coming up soon, and they have to allow these scenes to be portrayed in order to help shape the minds of the voter here in the US. The American people need to wake up and stop fighting against each other, and work together to help vote for a Presidentsl Candidate who will actually do something to change the narrative at the Border and to help the American people here in the US first. What a mess on both watches, democrats and republicans!??

Wow! That was wild. Here in San Ysidro everything was calm and actually civil. People waited their turn. I live nearby so I saw it with my own eyes. People at las Americas outlet would pass by food to them and the officers gave them the food. I was an immigrant 35 years ago I am now a us citizens and although I love the USA, I will always remember the struggles I had to go through. The hunger, the injustice, the reject and the cultural assimilation, learning a new language, and work work work until I couldn’t no more. All those efforts paid off and I believe EVERYONE has a right to have a better life. I have family members in Canada and Europe who are also immigrants and also go through these struggles. If they don’t make it to the USA, I hope the Mexican government takes advantage of this immigration influx, after all, the USA is great because of us. It’s time other countries take advantage and advance as well ??

Its a pity in this 21st century still experiencing racism? Why is it the most civilised people lives like uncivilised? I am so disappointed I thought America and Canada should have lived a free - racism society than any other countries across the globe because black people has made America to be where it is today, it is very ironic we black people in Africa we live in harmony with every race you can mentioned it whether Indians, Chinese, white people, etc and nobody complains that they are being discriminated here simply because of the colour of their skin. we simply dont care as long as you are a human being.

While driving to Alaska I picked up a crying ww who was stranded about 20 miles away from home. She seemed to be a nice lady until we went over a hill and was immediately passed by a police officer going in the opposite direction. He looked at me (in a new white firebird) then at her and put on his lights. I warned her the police will turn around and stop us because he saw her. She didn’t believe me so I instructed her to simply observe. We both looked at the speedometer, 61! He turned around and came up behind us. I pulled over and he walked to the drivers window and asked HER if she was ok? She stated yes. He rudely asked for my license and registration and stating I was doing 70 in a 60. She attempted to defend me but he ordered her to be quiet. Her mouth dropped. I informed him I was at 60 but didn’t know the road would drop. He wrote me a ticket. I scribbled my name, he tore the ticket off the pad and threw it in the car. Asked her if she’s sure she was ok? She said yes and he walked away. She was clearly saddened and offered me dinner once she got home. She kept apologizing and I stated we live this way everyday and I’m use to it. Thanks for the offer but I’m on my way to work. At least he didn’t take my car. She started crying. I informed her she didn’t do it so not to worry, just learn from the experience. I left Canada and later was notified at my address in California I had a warrant for an unpaid speeding ticket, then later notified I was banned from Canada for carrying an illegal firearm. I imagined what could’ve happened if I was alone. Stay out of Canada! The system seems to be the same as America.

I’ve seen African countries, they aren’t exactly vacation destinations. And plus I’ve heard black Africans don’t like black Americans. Why don’t you move to an African country of America is so bad for you to live in?

I really feel for these people AND all Americans who are doing it so ‘heroically’ tough. The cost of petrol, food, medical expenses, housing and the list goes on. The wages ‘if you can get a decent paying job’ have not gone up enough to cover the cost of living. It’s getting the same in Australia but not with these scenes of forced entry. If the US Government would not do anything to stop this craziness, the American people would be doomed. Protect the United States of America. Else, you will become a third-world country, crimes are everywhere, difficult to find jobs, can barely afford food, more homeless, rough life. I came from a third-world country. It’s not nice. Life is very tough. Do you, American people want to live like that? Bet, you won't survive. So, do something. Choose the right people to be in the office who do something for the American people. U.S. sanctions against Venezuela is what helped caused this in the first place lol. And now we are crying because we helped ruin their country. Look at the country of all the immigrants coming here and you will find that each and every one of them was ruined in part because of our country. America is not in the position to take in mass amounts of people. We are struggling with a homeless crisis as well as a work shortage and extremely high rental prices. Many Americans are losing their homes, their jobs, and can’t afford to put food on the table. America itself has fallen far from its former glory. Even for people who have been here their whole lives we are finding it hard to just live.

There’s nothing more ignorant then when people like this come to our country whether legally or illegally and then while living here they wave a big damn flag of their country of origin and talk about how great and awesome their country of origin is…..oh yeah? Then why did you run away from it? What a bunch of ignorant dumb assess…..if your gonna be here at least don’t be so proudly waving your country’s flag like if that peace of shit country did anything for you. This is America and yes America is founded by immigrants of all types but while this country gives you everything the only flag that you should be proudly waving is the American flag and nothing else, or at the very least the American flag should be the biggest flag you should be waving and try to learn some English, that way you don’t feel like people are taking advantage of you. We just had some illegal immigrant from MS13 murder and completely dismember a door dash delivery driver where i live. And now were letting more of the people from the worst places into our county. Americans have become so accepting and open minded that their brains have literally fallen out of their heads... We are self destructing at this point. My concern is that they leave their country coming in to our country illegally. We will become a Third World country. We will become a Third World country because we can no longer support the amount of people flowing into this country. We’ve got homeless people here we’ve got people living in their cars we got people on the street. We don’t have anything to offer these people. Now we need to take care of America first we really do we cannot police the world, we’ve got to take care of our backyard before we start taking care of other peoples

Instead of criminalising refuge seekers, the gov should use them, set a wage that's lower than the standard, charge for their services at the standard, for a period of time, enough for these ppl to get their footing , use the difference to fund programmes and tackle different aspects of the problem, keep tabs on families and individuals by making ppl register, use them to fix infrastructure and do jobs that otherwise go unfilled, many of these people are skilled and hard workers, they will have a reason to stay within the boundaries of society, the country will have more money circulating, but they situation is being misused, it's an opportunity to get ahead, it's an opportunity to increase natural citizens skills and living conditions, to create other jobs and industries, and to fix the economy, strengthen economic and political ties with the countries these ppl are coming from, and also charge a tax in whatever way can be done to these countries per person they recieve.things like housing, many of these workers can build houses, and that gap between lowered wage and standard wage or tax for entering America illegally, could be used to fund better public housing, etc.

You forgot 1 major point-\nAt least here in Canada, we don't have to live in fear of gun violence. We don't send our children only for them to be massacred in their schools. At least our politics doesn't revolve around Jesus, guns and abortion (though our politicians are also crap). At least we don't have to break bad to pay for even simple medical procedures. At least our cities aren't overrun by homeless while our rural areas are not overrun by hillybillies. \n\nWhile yes in general Americans are richer, the fact is that only the top 10 percent live better. Not the homeless piling up in the cities, not the 3rd world shanties in the Appalachians and south and certainly not the thousands living in the American jail system. It's crazy how bad a country can be despite being rich.\n\nI was born and raised in the US. I have lived in Canada and much poorer countries like Spain and Portugal. Let me tell you, Americans live the worst life out of all. In much poorer Spain, people still have universal education till university, good healthcare, good public transportation system and they don't have to eat the frozen crap most Americans eat. Spanish people eat fresh meat, fruits, cheese and vegetables and drink some of the best wine, despite earning much less than Americans and working astonishingly low hours. Moreover, their cities are livable, not like the concrete jungle of Texas. \n\nYes America is rich but DUDE, Its seriously third world, if you arent rich and successful.

Young ladies, the grass isn't always greener on the other side. The things you're describing, happen to many people in the U.S. I've never heard any stories of a Canadians losing their homes and dying because they didn't have access to healthcare. Many people in America die because they don't have healthcare. And a lot of Americans are sleeping on the streets and living in their cars because the cost of living is so high. So, most of what you're taking about is what we go through as well.

The only unlawful invaders are the pink skinned Europeans that are in America! This is not their land! It belongs to the real Americans. Mexicans is an English word for southern Americans. They have a lot more right to live in their own land then these pig coloured european invaders calling themselves “American”.

I have travelled all over Europe South America USA & Canada. I love Victoria BC & Vancouver I think they are both very beautiful places yes sadly expensive, buty I never liked Spain I personally much rather live in either Vancouver or Victoria. And yes there are beautiful Beaches in other places . But I will always love Victoria & Vancouver.
