I was born and raised in Toronto. The Trudeau government has absolutely destroyed our economy and is now scamming poor developing nations to come here and work as wage slaves while packing 25 dudes into a basement. This is deplorable. This is just the Indian student scam (selling false dreams and a poor education), we also have the migrant labour scam in our fruit/vegetable fields where workers are abused. I honestly don't understand how these new immigrants survive here, even our Canadian-born are having a lot of financial trouble. Thanks for covering this BBC, the world should know about our economic malaise and how are government is deliberately wrecking this country economically and scamming unsuspecting foreigners.

Job market is sluggish, Salary not comparable with US, House Rent are so high, buying a house is a distant dream, inflation is high, education standard is poor kids learn more of LGBTQ+ than math or science, infrastructure not spread out like US, concentration is only in Toronto and within 20 km radius, high cost of living for eg. ridiculus auto insurance premiums, groupism & racisim. I dont think people blend in, healthcare serious wait times. I know no country is perfect but Canada lost its charm in recent times because of politics like in India. Overall US is still better but has its own problem like mass shooting & rising cost of living. If you get lucky US is the right option for now compared to europe.

Really they sell a dream, as britishers are institutionalized THIEF, that mean they theft other country resources but using policies and rules. Lady, don’t talk about housing crisis. At least Canadian politicians ( irrespective of liberals or democrats) debate on affordable housing in parliaments. Where as Indian politicians don’t have the guts to speak about high cost of living.. Check for cost of living in metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad. Indians have to shell crores of money to buy their dream homes, some of which they don’t know if the project or property has any litigations.

The matter is more about making sure that Canadians who wants to go to post-high-school degrees shouldn't have to be drowned in debts in order to get the career of their dream. Immigration (especially the student visa back door) has become a lucrative business for a few people (colleges, ESL schools, universities, construction companies, realtors, etc) without thinking about the impact on all the most basic needs for Canadians. There have been record numbers of immigrants, but where are the record numbers in new housing, new hospitals, new nurses, new doctors, etc? Obviously, this is a good business for construction companies and realtors because they can maintain high prices forever and keep making money on the Canadian dream. It is time for the Canadian government, whether liberal or conservative, to stop this nonsense until the coverage of the basic needs of Canadians are covered.

i dont believe in the american dream...i dont believe in the hi level of freedom of speech or freedom of religion we have here..i dont believe in the philosophy of multi culturalism which america is founded on...i like one cuisine, one language, one ethnicity, one kind of music, one religious heritage, one kind of dance, one kind of clothing, one kind of hairstyles, one kind of look...but most americans like having a variety of cuisines etc...i do not...i think each country should only have one culture and one cuisine.... i would ban foreign cuisines and foreign holidays and ban mentioning foreign holidays and ban practicing foreign religions... thats why im moving out of usa asap : )

many new immigrants who rushed in thinking canada was some honeypot are now leaving for good which is the most compelling reason why canada is not a destination to immigrate! unlike US there are no mechanisms in place for new immigrants to succeed with higher costs, unaffordable housing and taxes jobs are difficult to find and on top it to adjust as new migrants it’s very difficult so yes the canadian dream is very much over for most immigrants, international students can go anywhere for education it’s not a canadian specialty as such but most students came to canada because it allows them to do work after graduation but other countries are also catching up with attractive schemes to attract these students so it does look like lesser students are expected in canada from now on…

Ive worked with these studnets in warehouses, lot of them are hard workers that are struggling to make ends meet, struggling to find a home, the government and universities just treats em as a quick buck, they get hated by wasp, face even more hate from their own who been here for years, they've been sold a false dream and we are all now suffering from political greed

I saw many times the ads about Canadian Dream here in YouTube. It looks beautiful and promising, but turned out the reality is not like that. I wonder why their government encouraging people to immigrate to Canada but not really ready to accept them.

Thailand is the best place for retired person. Cost of living is pretty cheap. Easy to get retirement visa. Health insurance or expense are lower than many countries. Food are tasty and delicious. People are friendly and easy life. Dream place for retired person.
